    What do you do when you are oppressed by evil & how making a stand changes history

    Colin and Mark discuss two good new stories from the October 2026 Good News paper 1. CRICKETER WHO CHANGED HISTORY – Mark explains how Henry Olonga, Zimbabwe’s youngest Test cricketer and the first Black Test cricketer for Zimbabwe changed history. Olonga’s public protest against Robert Mugabe’s dictatorship during the 2003 World Cup led to treason charges and death threats, but he saw his stand as God led and worth the cost.2. Colin then tells the story of Corey and Kristen,a couple who thought they could clear homes of ‘things that go bump in the night’. The former ghost hunters believed they were helping spirits but found they had been tricked and the ‘ghosts’ they were dealing with were really demonic spirits. But after turning to Jesus, they found that he has the power to defeat them. They felt oppressed by evil forces and found turning to the Bible and Jesus gave them freedom from the evil spirits that plagued them. Mark reviews story with headline "MACHO MAN CRIES WHEN HE MEETS GOD", this is about a gym fanatic who finds real strength comes not from the body workout but from faith in Jesus Christ. Colin talks about the headline, "HEART OP ‘DEAD MAN’ SEES PASTOR BY HIS BODY". This is a true story about a man called Trevor who clinically died on the operating table – yet he ‘saw’ his pastor reading the Bible over his body. Later, the pastor confirmed he had done exactly that, while Trevor was unconscious. Trevor tells the full story and why he believes God has allowed him to live.     How to find hope through life's troubles and storms

    What happens when we face disappointment, loss and failure? How do we cope through life's crises and the storms of life? I was so inspired when I visited an older lady last week who told me about her life and all the bad things that had happened. It was amazing that she could look back on her life and say, 'God has been so good to me'. Here is a brief account of the visit and how it reminds me of many occasions in the Bible where God shows he is with us throughout the problems of life. The Book of Ruth in particular came to mind and I talk about that.

    What the UK media didn't tell you. Miracle at sea story and hope is a person. Join Colin and Mark as they review two good news stories from the May edition of the Good News paper. MIRACLE AT SEA – THE REAL STORY When an Aussie family was swept out to sea, 13-year-old Austin swam 4km back to land, ran 2km to raise the alarm, and his mum and younger siblings were rescued in the dark despite being 14km offshore in rising waves. The story hit headlines around the world. What wasn’t highlighted by most of the UK media was how the boy himself credited God and prayer for his incredible swim and his family all being saved. The May issue of outreach newspaper Good News gives the full story. Also Hope is a Person. Someone this week spoke of their shock when someone close to them died suddenly. The news threw their life into turmoil. A reminder that loss disrupts our lives and makes us yearn for strong, secure foundations. During upheaval, we all seek a hope that will not disappoint.
