    A few weeks before this, a childhood friend Jacqueline Edwards reached out. She'd seen a short I'd posted from an episode with a fertility endocrinologist where I shared publicly for the first time that I had been sexually assaulted when I was 19.. Turns out, she had the same story...only totally different. She wanted to come on the pod to talk about it, and we did. We did not talk about the details of either of our events as this is not about that. What we did discuss was the aftermath, the shame, and the impact our events had on our fertility journeys. It did for Leigha Maher...but she didn't know it until grad school when she learned she had a brain tumor. The successful removal had fertility implications (among many other health issues).     At any point during Mackenzie's journey, she could have said "screw this". A lot of us would have, to be honest. This is part 1 of a very complicated journey to pregnancy. It involves Lyme disease, vaccine injury, norovirus, a parasite, COVID, irregular and non-existent periods, lots of doctors, IVF, a death in the family, a wedding and MORE...and yet, she stuck through it. And now she's 36 weeks pregnant as of this episode's release date. Joining us again (because she's Mackenzie's acupuncturist too) is Alex Leddy, who was part of Mackenzie's health care team––a big part.
