    16-07-26 - ‘Let’s Get Serious: Pride’

Send us Fan Mail Tim Guttman looks at one of Scripture’s most pervasive and dangerous sins: pride. Drawing from both the Old and New Testaments, he traces humanity’s rebellion against God from Eden and Babel through to the warnings of the prophets, revealing pride as the root of mankind’s desire to live independently of the Creator.  Exploring passages from Isaiah, Romans, Revelation, Joshua and the Psalms, Tim contrasts the arrogance of self-rule with the humility that comes through surrendering to Christ. He challenges believers not only to recognise pride in society but also to allow God to search their own hearts, reminding viewers that Christians are called to submit to God’s authority rather than reshape Him to fit modern culture.  The programme also reflects on God’s faithfulness throughout biblical history, encouraging believers that no nation or generation is beyond His power to redeem. Concluding with a call to worship and humility, Tim reminds viewers that true hope is found not in human wisdom or self-confidence, but in exalting the Lord and living under His rule.
