What does a Bible college actually owe the church? CCBC President Justin Thomas pulls back the curtain on Calvary Chapel Bible College’s next chapter, from accelerated accreditation and new advisory voices to the kind of graduates the school is determined to form. If you care about the future of Calvary Chapel, Christian education, or raising up leaders who are rooted, practical, and Spirit-led, this conversation belongs on your list. Pilgrim Benham sits down with CCBC president Justin Thomas for a candid look at where the school is headed in Florida and why this season feels pivotal. Justin shares how the campus is building momentum in its second year, why the school is pursuing an accelerated ABHE accreditation process, and how a new Advisory Council of Calvary Chapel pastors is helping shape the graduate profile CCBC wants to deliver to local churches. You'll discover the four-part framework guiding CCBC's formation of students: what they should know, what they should be able to do, who they should become, and what they should love. Justin breaks down why biblical knowledge alone is not enough, why writing and communication matter in an AI-shaped world, and how the school is designing curriculum around outcomes instead of just content. He also explains why humility, integrity, lifelong learning, and devotion to Jesus, the church, and the Scriptures are central to the mission. We also get into what it means for CCBC to be unapologetically Calvary Chapel, why the school sees itself as a partner to the movement rather than a generic Christian institution, and what kind of ministry leaders the church needs right now. Justin argues the next decade will require both deep-rooted pastors and ordinary church members with servant hearts, spiritual agility, and real dependence on the Holy Spirit. If you've ever wondered what makes CCBC distinct, how it is adapting without losing its identity, or why this school still matters for the future of the church, this episode offers a compelling inside look.
