Mental Health America of Dutchess County Presents "Your Best You: Real Conversations on Mental Wellness." Part of our mission at MHA is to raise awareness and make sure that we eradicate stigma around mental health. This is a really important endeavor we have here because when audiences take the time to listen to our interviews and watch the clips we create, that’s a big part of raising awareness. It’s making the phrase “mental health” not so hard to say.

    Play Like a Champion Today - Your Best You's Champions for Mental Health w/ Kristin Sheehan

    Today, we speak with Kristin Sheehan from “Play Like a Champion Today.” This organization takes its name from a motivational slogan most famously slapped by Notre Dame football players before heading onto the field. We talk to Kristin about the organization’s roots to Notre Dame, along with her own ties to the college. We dive into what makes the program special and how it is serving student athletes across the country. Kristin Sheehan Program Director Play Like a Champion Today Educational Series Kristin has served as the Program Director of Play Like a Champion since the program’s inception. She leads partner relations, coordinates educational programs, and spearheads the development of new curricula. Kristin has co-authored numerous articles and publications while presenting Play Like a Champion workshops across the country. Kristin earned undergraduate and master's degrees in theology and psychology from the University of Notre Dame, where she was a varsity athlete on the cheerleading team.     Get Hooked on The Mayfly Project!

    "Dancing at Two Weddings" with Brooke Moriber, The Sound of Nashville Concert Special Guest Performer

    On today’s episode of Your Best You, we have a Starlight Spotlight with one of the performers from our upcoming Sound of Nashville Concert, Broadway to Country Star Brooke Moriber. Brooke and I dive into what it means to be apart of this concert, her collaborations with fellow Sound of Nashville performer Ian Flanigan, her duel roles being on Broadway and also trying to pursue a solo recording career, her love of rescue animals (including her late rabbit, Sherlock), her struggles with physical/mental health, and so much more! Known for her “clarion voice” (Associated Press), Brooke Moriber’s powerhouse vocals and emotional songwriting have connected with audiences from New York City to Nashville – the two towns she calls home. Growing up in Greenwich Village, Brooke was raised on the sounds of guitar strumming and voices rising through her bedroom window from Washington Square Park and the nightclubs below.
