    Bones (2001)

Jimmy Bones rose from the dead with a velvet suit, a thirst for vengeance, and honestly way too many supernatural abilities for one neighborhood protector. This week, we’re digging up the 2001 horror flick Bones to see if Snoop Dogg’s ghost holds down the block or just haunts our memories. Before we get to the haunted brownstone, we take the scenic route through college memories, air out why Ugie should never pick up a tennis racket again, and defend why Thir13en Ghosts deserves its flowers as an undisputed classic. When it comes to Jimmy Bones, we break down the whole wild ride—from Pam Grier looking immaculate to Snoop possessing a black pit bull and bleeding out of the walls. Exactly what kind of ghost powers was he working with, and did 2000s hip-hop horror actually deliver? #Bones2001 #SnoopDogg #BlackCinema #HorrorMovies #Podcast 🎙️ The Black and White Cinema Podcast with Kev 'n' Ugie 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kev_n_ugie 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-n-ugie/id1874324373 🎧 Amazon Podcasts: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/9d1ba56a-bfe8-45c8-aad8-47a28a3f3829/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-'n'-ugie 🌐 allmylinks: https://allmylinks.com/kev-n-ugie

    Pandorum

Awake in the dark, wondering what the hell is crawling around the ship? So were we. In this episode of The Black and White Cinema Podcast, Kev and Ugie dive deep into the cult sci-fi horror thriller Pandorum (2009). We unpack the sheer claustrophobia of waking up from hypersleep with total amnesia, only to find the spaceship Elias drifting in terrifying silence—until it isn't. We talk about how this movie completely nails that gritty, industrial survival-horror vibe reminiscent of Event Horizon and Alien, combined with a psychological twist that keeps you guessing. Plus, we break down the terrifying feral society that evolved on board, the heavy sense of dread, and why this underrated cosmic nightmare deserves a lot more love than it got when it first dropped. Grab a brown soda, lock in, and listen as we break down whether humanity's last hope is actually doomed from the start. #Pandorum #SciFiHorror #CultClassic #MovieReview #TheBlackAndWhiteCinemaPodcast 🎙️ The Black and White Cinema Podcast with Kev 'n' Ugie 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/ @kev_n_ugie 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https:// podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-black-and- white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-n-ugie/ id1874324373 🎧 Amazon Podcasts: https:// music.amazon.com/podcasts/9d1ba56a- bfe8-45c8-aad8-47a28a3f3829/the-black- and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-'n'-ugie 🌐 allmylinks: https://allmylinks.com/kev-n-ugie

    30 Days of Night

This week the boys welcomed Isaak back on the show to cover his and Kev's beloved vampire movie: 30 Days of Night. A truly upsetting film, both graphically and narratively. We're really not sure how you could root for Eben less than we were. But, man, are these vampires terrifying. What the movie lacks in believable characters it more than makes up for in perfectly executed horror. We really enjoyed it, especially the end. What other horror movies do you want us to do? 🎙️ The Black and White Cinema Podcast with Kev 'n' Ugie 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kev_n_ugie 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-n-ugie/id1874324373 🎧 Amazon Podcasts: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/9d1ba56a-bfe8-45c8-aad8-47a28a3f3829/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-'n'-ugie 🌐 allmylinks: https://allmylinks.com/kev-n-ugie #podcast #movies #horror #vampires #30daysofnight

    Parasite

This week the boys watched the South Korean masterpiece, Parasite! We're kicking off October's theme: Sp-ugie Season! We'll be bringing you some of our favorite creepy movies to haunt your fall. Boy, did we kick it off right, too! While the word "masterpiece" gets thrown around a lot, this one deserves it. The way Bong Joon-ho blended and bled genres while keeping you compelled by all the characters is so original and layered, it's truly mind-blowing. Plus, the sister is hot. 🎙️ The Black and White Cinema Podcast with Kev 'n' Ugie 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kev_n_ugie 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-n-ugie/id1874324373 🎧 Amazon Podcasts: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/9d1ba56a-bfe8-45c8-aad8-47a28a3f3829/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-'n'-ugie 🌐 allmylinks: https://allmylinks.com/kev-n-ugie #Parasite2019 #BongJoonHo #SongKangHo #Podcast #KoreanFilm

    Whiplash

This week, the guys watched the 2014 award darling, Whiplash! A film that is just as much jazz love letter as it is drama, we really can't say enough good things! The way the instruments, and particularly the drums, become characters of their own is incredible. And, of course, Miles Teller and J. K. Simmons give inspired, impassioned performances that left our jaws on the floor. But what is this movie really telling us? Is it okay to torture and abuse for the sake of greatness? What is worth giving up to become a human singularity? We'll give you our takes, but as always, give us yours! 🎙️ The Black and White Cinema Podcast with Kev 'n' Ugie 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kev_n_ugie 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-n-ugie/id1874324373 🎧 Amazon Podcasts: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/9d1ba56a-bfe8-45c8-aad8-47a28a3f3829/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-'n'-ugie 🌐 allmylinks: https://allmylinks.com/kev-n-ugie #whiplash #milesteller #jksimmons #jazz #music

    Leon: The Professional

Leon: The Professional is a Wildly different movie depending on which cut you watch... and we learned that the erm... hard way. In this episode, Ugie went the full director's cut route while Kev stuck to the US theatrical version, leading to a breakdown of epic proportions. We dive headfirst into Luc Besson's 1994 action classic, only to realize that the extended cut turns a sleek thriller into something genuinely bizarre. We laugh, we cry, we shouldn't have watched the Director's Cut. We debate whether the extra runtime makes the movie cooler, weirder, or just plain uncomfortable, and things get heated fast. Plus, Kev reveals his absolute favorite running bit: losing his mind every time Ugie drops into a French accent. #LeonTheProfessional #MoviePodcast #FilmDiscussion #DirectorsCut #Cinema 🎙️ The Black and White Cinema Podcast with Kev 'n' Ugie 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kev_n_ugie 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-n-ugie/id1874324373 🎧 Amazon Podcasts: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/9d1ba56a-bfe8-45c8-aad8-47a28a3f3829/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-'n'-ugie 🌐 allmylinks: https://allmylinks.com/kev-n-ugie

    Big Daddy

Adopting a random kid to win back your ex? Peak 90s logic right there. This week we are looking back at Adam Sandler’s classic comedy Big Daddy (1999)Looking back at Big Daddy through a modern lens, Sonny Koufax definitely takes the crown for being an absolute menace and a terrible Dad that stepped up. From his complete lack of adult responsibilities to his questionable life advice, he would honestly be the worst person to have as a roommate or a guardian. Is Canadian Beer better than American Beer?Should New Yorker be allowed to adopt? Is Sid just as Trill as we remember? As for whether the movie holds up? Parts of it are still a fun nostalgia trip, but a lot of the plot feels like a fever dream that could only exist in the Happy Madison universe.#BigDaddy #AdamSandler #90sMovies #NYC #MoviePodcast🎙️ The Black and White Cinema Podcast with Kev 'n' Ugie 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kev_n_ugie 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-n-ugie/id1874324373 🎧 Amazon Podcasts: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/9d1ba56a-bfe8-45c8-aad8-47a28a3f3829/the-black-and-white-cinema-podcast-with-kev-'n'-ugie 🌐 allmylinks: https://allmylinks.com/kev-n-ugie
