Created to Belong and Contribute Community, Purpose, and God’s Design

Where do I belong? And does my life really matter? These are questions many of us carry quietly through different seasons of life. In this episode of the Rooted & Renewed Podcast, I explore the connection between community, belonging, and purpose through the lens of God’s original design. From Genesis, we see that humanity was never created for isolation. We were made for relationship, connection, and meaningful participation. But belonging can become complicated. Childhood experiences, rejection, peer pressure, and the desire to be accepted can shape the places we choose and the ways we show up in relationship. And purpose can become complicated too. We may think it has to be one dramatic calling or something impressive enough to prove that our lives matter. This episode invites you to consider a simpler possibility: What if purpose is often revealed through ordinary contribution? And what if belonging is less about fitting in and more about being known? Together we explore: * The difference between fitting in and belonging * How early experiences can shape our sense of connection * Why purpose does not have to be dramatic to be meaningful * How community and contribution often work together * Why your value comes before your usefulness * How purpose can change across different seasons of life This is an invitation to stop asking only: “What am I supposed to do with my life?” And begin asking: “Where has God invited me to belong?” And: “What has He placed in my hands to offer in this season?” https://sheila-hochbergs-team.adalo.com/rooted

    Living in Rhythm

Are you truly resting, or are you simply collapsing after a day of constant demands? And are you giving your body meaningful opportunities to move, or expecting one workout to compensate for hours of stillness? In this episode of the Rooted & Renewed Podcast, I explore movement and rest as complementary rhythms within God’s design. Beginning in Genesis, we see that Adam was created for meaningful participation in the life around him, but he also entered into a rest God had already prepared. Movement was not punishment, and rest was not something he had to earn. This conversation explores: * Why movement was woven into ordinary life before it became “exercise” * How small moments of standing, stretching, walking, and moving can fit into a modern workday * Why physical stillness is not always the same as true rest * How brief pauses between responsibilities can interrupt the pattern of constant urgency * The difference between working for rest and learning to work from rest * Why movement can become participation rather than punishment * How rest can become an expression of trust rather than guilt This episode is not about creating the perfect balance or adding another wellness routine. It is an invitation to become more responsive, to notice when your body needs movement, when your mind and spirit need rest, and how both can help you live with greater presence, grace, and trust in God. You May Not Need Another Thing

What if healing is not always asking you to add something new? In this episode of the Rooted & Renewed Podcast, I explore the difference between continually chasing the next health practice and learning to receive what God has already provided. Breath. Food. Rest. Light. Connection. Daily provision. These gifts are already woven into ordinary life, yet it is possible to move through an entire day without truly noticing them. This conversation looks at breath and nourishment as continual rhythms of receiving rather than isolated wellness techniques. It also briefly explores how we may bring stress, hurry, distraction, and old beliefs with us to the table, and why even one gentle breath can help us become more present to the meal and the moment. In this episode, we explore: Why healing does not always require adding moreThe difference between stewardship and controlHow breath and nourishment reveal our dependence on GodWhy our need to receive again is not weaknessHow ordinary gifts can become reminders of daily provisionA simple practice for receiving one moment with greater awarenessThis is not an invitation to create another checklist. It is an invitation to pause and ask: How can I receive what God has already provided? Because sometimes healing begins not with doing more, but with noticing what has been sustaining us all along. Inhabiting the Blueprint: Learning to Live in God’s Design

What does your average Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon reveal about the blueprint you are living from? In this episode of the Rooted & Renewed podcast, I explore how healing is shaped not only by what we believe, but by the ordinary patterns and rhythms that quietly form our everyday lives. From the way we wake up, eat, work, rest, breathe, respond to stress, and connect with God, we are all living from a blueprint, whether we recognize it or not. Drawing from Romans 12 and the invitation not to conform to the patterns of this world, this conversation asks an important question: What patterns have we accepted simply because they are normal? Hurry. Constant productivity. Multitasking. Ignoring the body. Living disconnected from God’s presence. None of these may seem significant in isolation, but together they can become the framework from which we live. In this episode, we explore: • How everyday patterns quietly become a way of life • Why Romans 12 speaks to more than beliefs alone • The difference between admiring God’s design and actually inhabiting it • Why healing is not another checklist, diet, supplement, or technique • How God designed the body and spirit to live through continual rhythms • Why ordinary moments may be some of the most important places healing is cultivated This episode is an invitation to stop asking only: “What do I need to fix?” And begin asking: “How did God design me to live today?” Because healing is often cultivated in ordinary moments rather than extraordinary ones. Reclaiming the Gifts We Forgot

Can Christians embrace wellness practices without compromising their faith? In this episode of the Rooted & Renewed Podcast, I continue the conversation about God's original design by exploring a question many believers have wrestled with: Have we sometimes confused God's gifts with the ways people choose to use those gifts? From intentional breathing and movement to time in creation, rest, nourishing food, and healthy relationships, many practices that support our physical and emotional well-being are sometimes viewed with hesitation because of cultural labels or associations. But what if these are not "new age" inventions at all? What if they are part of the wisdom God built into creation from the very beginning? In this episode, you'll discover: Why discernment is different from fear. The difference between God's gifts and the worldviews that may surround them. How Scripture and science complement rather than compete with one another. What the Blue Zones can teach us about living in rhythms that reflect God's design. Why stewardship, not self-optimization, is the heart of biblical wellness. This isn't a conversation about chasing the next health trend. It's an invitation to rediscover the goodness of God's design and to steward the body He's entrusted to us with gratitude, wisdom, and faith. Because sometimes what feels like a new discovery...is really an ancient gift from a loving Creator that has been there all along. https://sheila-hochbergs-team.adalo.com/rooted https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1GEMkvBhcC/

Rediscovering God’s Design: Were These Really Ever Healing Hacks

Are today’s wellness trends really new? Or are we simply rediscovering the wisdom of God’s original design? In this episode of the Rooted & Renewed podcast, I explore a different way of thinking about health, healing, and the growing list of practices that have become popular in today’s wellness culture. From breathing and movement to sunlight, rest, nourishing food, and community, what if many of these aren’t modern discoveries at all, but gifts God intentionally wove into creation from the very beginning? Together we’ll explore: • Why many “wellness trends” may actually be rediscoveries of God’s design • The relationship between Scripture, science, and creation • How Genesis reveals God’s heart for human flourishing • Why our environment matters to both body and soul • The difference between chasing health and stewarding the gifts God has already given us • How everyday rhythms can become reminders of God’s goodness This isn’t a conversation about rejecting science or modern medicine. It’s an invitation to see both through the lens of a loving Creator. Because perhaps healing isn’t leading us somewhere God has never been. Maybe it’s gently leading us back toward the wisdom of the One who designed us in the first place. 🌿 In the next episode, we’ll continue this conversation by exploring how cultures around the world naturally live many of these rhythms, and why reclaiming God’s gifts requires both gratitude and discernment. https://sheila-hochbergs-team.adalo.com/rooted https://www.facebook.com/share/19DUou7bqd/?mibextid=wwXIfr
