Ampocalypse | ME. on All Good Things and Surviving an Evil Dead Apocalypse

In this episode of Ampocalypse Damian FitzGerald is joined by Mark O'Connell and Neal Amiruddin from ME. to discuss their debut album, All Good Things. They explore the creative journey behind the record, the unexpected twists that helped shape its sound, and the importance of creating something fresh rather than revisiting the past. From surprising fan reactions and the impact of the track Special to the meaning behind the album's title, Mark and Neal reflect on the band's identity, creative freedom, and their hopes for the future. But things take a considerably darker turn when Mark and Neal find themselves thrown into an Evil Dead-inspired Ampocalypse! With humanity scattered across isolated settlements and demonic possession turning friends into deadly enemies, survival is anything but guaranteed. The pair must decide what supplies they can't live without, how to identify a possessed survivor, and whether music could become their greatest weapon against the deadites. Throw in recruiting legendary musicians, some questionable decisions about opening the gates, and the possibility of making the ultimate sacrifice for humanity, and suddenly All Good Things might not seem quite so appropriate! 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, and let us know how you'd survive a world overrun by deadites and what Ampocalypse you'd like us to put guests through next! #Ampocalypse #MEband #AllGoodThings #EvilDead #RockMusic Videographer: Damian FitzGerald Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Neal and Mark 04:06 Fan reactions and surprising feedback 07:56 Creating music with freedom and vulnerability 11:16 The band's evolution and new identity 17:41 What each member brings to the band 21:22 The song 'Special' and its significance 27:10 Meaning of the album title 'All Good Things' 28:07 Next steps and future plans 29:08 Starting the apocalyptic survival scenario 30:28 Initial reactions to the apocalypse news 35:39 Items they refuse to leave behind 36:08 What would get under their skin from deadites 36:47 Signs of possession in a survivor 37:40 Roles in a survival group 39:38 Choosing instruments in an apocalypse 39:58 Recruiting a musician from history 40:52 Reacting to someone singing your song outside the camp 41:55 The album that could distract deadites 43:26 Who would stay behind to save humanity 45:23 Neal's survival and sequel plans Social links Follow ME.: Website https://thebandme.com Instagram https://www.instagram.com/theband.me/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/theband.me/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@thebandme.official Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/6FtUaVjfktYtsKoxDNJEBX Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | Heidi Shepherd on Nightbloom, Growth & Choosing Sides in the Apocalypse

In this episode of Ampocalypse Damian FitzGerald is joined by Butcher Babies vocalist Heidi Shepherd to talk about the band’s new album Nightbloom, a deeply personal record rooted in survival, growth and turning some of life’s less pleasant experiences into something considerably louder. Heidi discusses writing Nightbloom as something of an autobiography, using songwriting and therapy to process emotions, and how every lyric on the record has a purpose. We also get into the trust behind her collaborations, the changing way we consume music, her relationship with physical media, and how the music industry has evolved for women since Butcher Babies first began. With Nightbloom marking Heidi’s first Butcher Babies album taking the vocals forward solo, she reflects on stepping into that role, the freedom it brought to the songwriting process and how the band have been able to explore a wider range of sounds while still knowing exactly when things need to get aggressive. There’s also time for plenty of guitar on *Black Clouds Over Georgia* and a look back at just how much Heidi — and Butcher Babies — have changed along the way. Then it’s time for the Ampocalypse. An all-powerful corporation has taken control of the world, deciding how people live, what choices they’re allowed to make and, naturally, finding time to tighten its grip on music along the way. Heidi has to choose Butcher Babies’ resistance anthem, decide whether the band would sell out and take the corporation’s deal, plan the festival of the rebellion and work out which members of Butcher Babies would be most useful inside the corporate machine. And when the whole system finally comes crashing down, Heidi gets to decide what the world rebuilt from the ashes should actually look like. 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like us to put guests through next. #ButcherBabies #HeidiShepherd #Nightbloom #Ampocalypse #Metal Videographer: Damian FitzGerald Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Heidi Shepherd and Nightbloom 01:20 The themes of survival and growth in Nightbloom 03:24 Music as therapy and confronting emotions 04:50 The story behind the album title Nightbloom 07:09 Physical media vs digital music and quality concerns 10:35 How songwriting helps Heidi process memories 12:46 The evolution of band members and artistic growth 17:34 The impact of co-producers and trust in songwriting 20:42 The band's musical direction and pushing boundaries 24:46 The guitar solos and storytelling in music 28:09 Personal growth from Goliath to Nightbloom 36:08 Imagining the future: apocalypse scenarios and societal control Social links Follow Butcher Babies: Website https://butcherbabies.com Instagram https://www.instagram.com/butcherbabies/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/butcherbabies/?locale=en_GB YouTube https://www.youtube.com/butcherbabies Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/6FcvjJzvxgybo7Ywsj0hRj Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

In this episode of Ampocalypse Damian FitzGerald is joined by Petrol Girls at 2000Trees Festival to find out how they would survive when festival life suddenly becomes permanent. With the outside world gone, Petrol Girls have to work out how a new community at 2000Trees would function. Who takes charge, which supplies become essential and which festival goers suddenly prove far more useful than anyone expected? From mosh pit warriors putting themselves on the front line to preppers becoming some of the most valuable people on site, everyone has a role to play. Ampocalypse | Scott Holiday on His Debut Album Topology as HOL1D4Y and Surviving an AI Apocalypse

In this episode of Ampocalypse Damian FitzGerald is joined by Scott Holiday of Rival Sons to talk about his debut solo album Topology, released under the name HOL1D4Y. Scott discusses stepping out from behind the guitar and taking on lead vocals, working alongside Rival Sons drummer Mike Miley, and the freedom that came with producing the record himself. He also reflects on how recovering from a motorcycle accident gave him time to look inward and shaped some of the songwriting, the artwork that inspired Veridream, and the idea behind Topology and music as a healing tool. Scott also looks back on performing at Back to the Beginning, the final farewell to Ozzy Osbourne and a celebration of Black Sabbath and the man himself, whose music helped shape generations of artists and so much of the music we enjoy today. Then it’s time for Scott’s Ampocalypse as artificial intelligence takes over. With AI capable of recreating music, art and even human behaviour, Scott considers what would remain uniquely human, whether our imperfections could ultimately be our greatest strength, and which musicians he would bring together to form a band capable of surviving the new world. 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like us to put guests through next. #Ampocalypse #ScottHoliday #HOL1D4Y #Topology #RivalSons Videographer: Damian FitzGerald Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction to HOL1D4Y and Topology 02:14 The Creative Process Behind Topology 06:41 Collaboration and Musical Exploration 12:15 Injury, Recovery, and Songwriting 14:54 Stepping into the Spotlight: Lead Vocals 16:44 Veridream: Concept and Inspiration 18:36 Understanding Topology: Music as Healing 21:33 Self-Producing the Album 23:53 Back to the Beginning Show Experience 26:28 The AI Apocalypse Discussion 37:26 Forming a Supergroup: The Importance of Connection Social links Follow HOL1D4Y: Website https://www.hol1d4ymusic.com Instagram https://www.instagram.com/mrfuzzlord/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/HOL1D4Y/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@HOL1D4Ymusic Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/7oZggZ6oPPQYitKMwGV7TT Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | Riff Wood on Butterfly in Black and White & Giving Gen Z & Alpha the Keys to the World

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Hyrum Russon, Carson Groves and Asher “Shredder” Winegar of Riff Wood to talk about the band’s journey from childhood friends making music together to touring internationally and preparing to release their new album, Butterfly in Black and White. Hyrum, Carson and Shredder discuss how their musical influences have evolved, the experience of working with legendary producer Rob Cavallo, whose credits include Green Day, My Chemical Romance and Paramore, and the role social media has played in helping Riff Wood reach audiences around the world. They also share their thoughts on AI in music, why genuine connections with fans remain more important than chasing numbers, and how their new material represents the next stage in the band’s growth. With songs for a third album already beginning to take shape, they also explain why the full album experience still matters in an industry increasingly driven by singles and viral moments. Then it’s time for the Ampocalypse. With Gen Z and Gen Alpha left to inherit and rebuild society, Hyrum, Carson and Shredder are handed the chance to redesign education, decide what survives from social media and introduce some new rules for the world they’re creating. Along the way, there’s room for creativity, kindness, misinformation, responsibility and, perhaps most importantly, fixing school lunches. 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, tell us what you would change if you were rebuilding society from scratch, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #RiffWood #ButterflyInBlackAndWhite #RobCavallo #RockPodcast Videographer: Damian FitzGerald Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Riff Wood and their new album 02:00 Touring across North America and the UK 03:53 Experiences in the UK and favourite cities 08:00 Musical influences and growth over the years 08:59 Discovery by Rob Cavallo via TikTok 12:59 Thoughts on AI in music and promotion 17:54 Future plans and new album insights 26:59 Apocalyptic scenario: a world led by Gen Z and Alpha 36:53 Rules for a new society and final thoughts Social links Follow Riff Wood: Website https://www.riffwood.com Instagram https://www.instagram.com/riffwoodband/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/riffwoodband/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@riff_wood Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/7oXwujbsaxe9NN4RTYLWcO Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | Gregg Deal of Dead Pioneers on Reaching the Top of the 2000Trees Food Chain

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Gregg Deal from Dead Pioneers for another 2000Trees special, as he faces the ultimate festival survival scenario. With the world outside the festival falling apart, Gregg has to decide how best to survive inside 2000Trees. From securing the essentials and recognising that “water is life”, to figuring out who actually has the skills needed when festival life suddenly becomes permanent, the conversation quickly turns to how a new community might begin to take shape. Gregg considers who should step up to lead, whether those who arrived prepared would suddenly find themselves at the top of the food chain, and the advantages of keeping a mobile base of operations rather than settling in one place. There is also the small matter of keeping everyone sane, with music becoming just as important for morale as food and water are for survival. Could 2000Trees become the foundations of a new society, or would festival politics bring everything crashing down before the apocalypse even had the chance? 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, let us know how you’d survive 2000Trees, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #DeadPioneers #2000Trees #2000TreesFestival #FestivalSurvival #AlternativeMusic Videographer: Cara Felstead Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction to the festival apocalypse scenario 02:21 Festival fan archetypes and their survival potential 04:14 The role of democracy versus dictatorship in survival 04:41 Priorities in the first 24 hours: water and supplies 05:20 Morale and music: keeping spirits high 05:47 Choosing a base of operations: the van as a mobile refuge Social links Follow Dead Pioneers: Website https://deadpioneers.band Instagram https://www.instagram.com/dead.pioneers/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/dead.pioneers/?locale=en_GB YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@DeadPioneersBand Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/3t0cq15eUtB2wvb1wJARsv Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | a Forest on Surviving 2000Trees by Fortifying The Forest with Treehouses and a Moat

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Matt Hughes, also known as a Forest, for another 2000Trees special. Matt is faced with a very different version of the festival, where the world beyond the perimeter has collapsed and everyone inside has to figure out how to survive. Matt weighs up the importance of water, vegetation and the natural resources surrounding the festival, considers which types of festival-goers might actually be useful when things go wrong, and decides where he would establish his territory, choosing the Forest Stage as his base of operations. From there, the plans quickly expand to include tree houses, a moat and everything needed to turn it into a post-apocalyptic stronghold. With the community beginning to take shape, attention turns to leadership, morale and the role music could play in keeping everyone together when survival becomes the new headline act. Matt also wastes very little time deciding that democracy might not be the answer, with dictatorship emerging as his preferred leadership style. 🤘 Please like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, tell us how you would survive the Ampocalypse at 2000Trees, where you would make your base, who you would trust to lead, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #2000Trees #aForest #2000TreesFestival #MusicPodcast #FestivalLife #Apocalypse Videographer: Cara Felstead Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Festival Vibes and Personal Reflections 02:46 Navigating an Apocalypse: Survival Strategies 06:02 Community Dynamics in a Post-Apocalyptic World 09:06 Morale and Music in Crisis 11:58 Claiming Territory: The Forest as a Stronghold Social links Follow a Forest: Instagram https://www.instagram.com/a_forest_music/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGy1rV3T5Ljq5qqsRfLMqzw Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/05zRFwFHxIEtpAQqQAlz1P Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | Vinnie Caruana on Preppers, Scousers and Surviving 2000Trees

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Vinnie Caruana of I Am the Avalanche for another 2000Trees special, as he imagines the festival becoming the last safe place in a world that has fallen apart. Vinnie considers how the community and compassion found at festivals could become the foundations of a new society, why preppers would suddenly become some of the most valuable people around, and what supplies would be essential during those crucial first 24 hours. There’s also the small matter of choosing who should take charge, with Vinnie putting his trust in the Scousers to lead the survivors and deciding he’d need to teleport his wife to 2000Trees to make sure the new world actually stays organised. With survival covered, attention turns to keeping everyone sane, the importance of music and morale when times get tough, and where at 2000Trees Vinnie would choose to establish a permanent base for the community. 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, let us know how you’d survive 2000Trees, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #VinnieCaruana #IAmTheAvalanche #2000Trees #2000TreesFestival #RockPodcast #FestivalPodcast Videographer: Cara Felstead Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction and setting the apocalyptic scene 02:51 The importance of community and compassion in survival 05:19 Choosing leaders for the new society 06:42 Critical supplies in the first 24 hours 07:59 Morale and music as survival tools 08:37 Designating a permanent base at the festival Social links Follow I Am The Avalanche: Website https://www.iamtheavalanche.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/iamtheavalanchenyc/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/iamtheavalanche/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/IATABrooklyn Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/60uj1W8gsOriVqdoqLcR2O Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi
