Will Carroll starts on the NFL side, checking in on Jayden Daniels, Jayden Reed, Caleb Williams and Alec Pierce. What do the latest injury reports actually tell us, what matters for return to play, and which issues could still affect performance even when a player is cleared to get back on the field? As always, the designation is only the beginning of the story. Then we make the Bo Jackson switch and head to baseball, where Aaron Judge is once again the center of the injury conversation. Will looks at Judge’s latest issue, what it could mean for the Yankees, and what to watch as he works his way back. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers seemingly have half the roster requiring an Injury Territory check-in, raising the familiar question of whether they can get healthy enough at the right time. And then there’s Alex Bregman, who took a foul ball to the face. Will breaks down the immediate concerns after facial trauma, what teams and medical staffs are looking for, and why the aftermath can involve more than simply determining whether anything is broken. Football injuries. Baseball injuries. Jayden Daniels and Aaron Judge on the same show. That makes it Bo Jackson Monday on Injury Territory—going beyond the injury report to explain the medicine, performance implications and return-to-play questions behind the biggest stories in sports. One of These Injuries is Bad

One of this week’s NFL injury mysteries finally makes sense. Unfortunately, the answer isn’t especially good. It’s Football Friday on Injury Territory, and Will Carroll and Edward Egros are back with the injury intelligence you need heading into the weekend. At the top of the show is Sam Darnold, where new information about a glute tendon issue helps explain what has been happening since his hip subluxation. Will connects the anatomy to the original injury: how abnormal movement of the femur can stress the gluteal tendons attached around the hip, and why getting the joint back into position doesn’t necessarily mean the surrounding soft tissue escaped unharmed. The injury report doesn’t get much quieter from there. Will and Edward break down the latest on DJ Moore, Kyler Murray, Brock Bowers and Chris Olave, along with several other situations worth watching before kickoff. Which injuries are likely to affect availability? Which could affect performance even if the player is active? And which injury-report designations are creating more noise than useful information? Then Edward goes into the data to ask a different kind of injury question: Which NFL quarterbacks are being put at risk by their own offensive lines? Pressure rate, protection and quarterback exposure aren’t the same thing as predicting an injury, but repeatedly putting a QB in bad situations creates more opportunities for bad things to happen. Edward looks for the quarterbacks spending too much time under pressure—and the offensive lines giving them too little help. It’s the intersection of sports medicine and football analytics that Football Friday is built for: understanding the injury, understanding the circumstances around it, and figuring out what actually matters before everyone starts panicking over a questionable designation. For the latest on Sam Darnold’s hip and glute injury, DJ Moore injury news, Kyler Murray injury updates, Brock Bowers injury, Chris Olave injury news, NFL quarterback pressure, offensive line rankings, QB injury risk, fantasy football injuries, NFL sports medicine, return-to-play timelines and NFL injury analysis, it’s Football Friday on Injury Territory. Don't Panic about Aaron Judge or Blake Snell!

Yankees fans: breathe. Dodgers fans: you too. It’s time for an Injury Territory emergency pod. Aaron Judge has a leg issue. Blake Snell has a groin issue. And within minutes, two enormous fan bases began doing what enormous fan bases do best: imagining the worst possible outcome. Will Carroll and Edward Egros are here with an emergency edition of Injury Territory to separate what we actually know from everything people are afraid might happen. First, Will breaks down the latest on Aaron Judge’s lower-leg injury, what the available information tells us, what it doesn’t tell us, and why Yankees fans shouldn’t automatically turn a new physical issue into a postseason catastrophe. With Judge, every limp becomes breaking news. The medical details and the way the Yankees manage him matter considerably more than the panic surrounding them. Then it’s Blake Snell and his groin injury. With October approaching, anything involving a key Dodgers starter immediately raises questions about the playoff rotation. Will and Edward look at the mechanism, likely concerns, return-to-play considerations and why the words “groin injury” alone don't tell us nearly enough to start rewriting the Dodgers’ postseason plans. This is exactly why Injury Territory exists. Injuries create uncertainty, uncertainty creates speculation, and speculation has a remarkable ability to become “news” before the actual medical information catches up. Sometimes the most useful injury analysis is simply recognizing when the facts aren’t as scary as the reaction. No panic. No diagnosing from a five-second video clip. No pretending every injury is either “nothing” or season-ending. Just injury intelligence from Will Carroll and Edward Egros when everyone else is losing their minds. Two Sport Injuries! Myles Garrett, Freddie Freeman and more MLB/NFL Injuries

To explore coverage, visit aspcapetinsurance.com/FOUL. The ASPCA® is not an insurer and is not engaged in the business of insurance. Two sports. One human body. Welcome to Bo Jackson Monday. On this edition of Injury Territory, Will Carroll and Edward Egros cross the football/baseball divide to break down the injuries that matter now—and the ones that could change what happens next. On the NFL side, Will and Edward dig into Myles Garrett, A.J. Brown, Brock Bowers, and an increasingly complicated injury situation for the Baltimore Ravens wide receivers. What do we actually know, what should we be watching for this week, and where might the injury report be telling us less than people think? As always, the goal isn't simply knowing who's hurt. It's understanding what the injury means for performance, availability and the players around them. Then Bo Jackson Monday switches sports. Freddie Freeman has another physical issue to manage as the Dodgers look toward October, while Jesús Luzardo presents another pitching-health question worth watching. Will also examines the increasingly dire situation surrounding Joe Musgrove and what the Padres have to consider when the available options start disappearing. Finally, there's Justin Verlander. If this really is the final start of one of the greatest pitching careers of his generation, what can the Detroit Tigers do to make it special? Will and Edward discuss how Detroit could handle the moment, the workload and the farewell—and why sometimes sports medicine needs to leave a little room for sports history. That's Bo Jackson Monday: NFL and MLB injury intelligence on the same show, because the uniforms and demands change, but the questions about health, performance, workload and return to play don't. For more on Myles Garrett injury news, A.J. Brown injury updates, Brock Bowers injury, Ravens WR injuries, Freddie Freeman injury news, Jesús Luzardo, Joe Musgrove injury updates, Justin Verlander’s final start, NFL injuries, MLB injuries, sports medicine, injury analysis and return-to-play timelines, subscribe to Injury Territory. Football Friday Injuries to Darnold, Brown, Love and more

Use our code for 10% off your next order of MLB tickets on SeatGeek*: seatgeek.onelink.me/RrnK/TERRITORY10 Sponsored by SeatGeek. *Restrictions apply. Max $20 discount The NFL season is barely underway, and the injury questions are already piling up. It’s Football Friday on Injury Territory, and Will Carroll and Edward Egros are separating the useful information from the noise around some of the biggest early-season NFL injury stories. Will breaks down Sam Darnold’s hip injury and what a subluxation can mean beyond simply getting the joint back where it belongs. We also look at A.J. Brown, check the latest on whether Jeremiyah Love will be able to play, and dig into the situation surrounding Tua Tagovailoa. Is Tua actually headed for missed time, or are we getting ahead of the medical information again? Then there’s Christian McCaffrey, where the question isn’t only whether he can play—it’s how much he should play. Will and Edward look at McCaffrey’s workload, what San Francisco is asking of him, and whether managing touches actually changes injury risk or simply changes how we talk about it. Edward also brings original research to one of football’s most intuitive assumptions: does where and how a quarterback gets hit actually predict whether he’ll miss the next game? Pocket hits, sacks and scramble tackles certainly look different. The data, however, may not care nearly as much as we do. It’s another reminder that mechanism can tell us something without necessarily telling us the outcome. From Sam Darnold’s hip and A.J. Brown’s injury status to Tua Tagovailoa, Jeremiyah Love, Christian McCaffrey’s workload and quarterback hit data, Football Friday goes past the designation on the injury report to explain what actually matters. That’s injury intelligence: better information, better context, and fewer conclusions based on how scary the replay looked. On today’s Injury Territory, Will Carroll and Edward Egros break down Judge’s return and explain why his bat and movement gave us much more useful information than an 0-for-3 line. The guys also dig into Shohei Ohtani’s recent struggles, what may be contributing to them, and what could change going forward as the Dodgers manage one of baseball’s most unique players. Plus, we check in on Corbin Burnes, Garrett Crochet and other key MLB injury and workload situations as the season heads toward October. Then Will sits down with Dr. Glenn Fleisig of the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI), one of the most influential researchers in baseball biomechanics and an injury research advisor to Major League Baseball. Fleisig looks back on his decades of work alongside Dr. James Andrews, the evolution of pitching biomechanics and injury prevention, and the questions that still excite him after a career spent studying how baseball players move, throw and get hurt. What have we actually learned about pitching injuries? Where is biomechanics headed next? And with better technology and more data than ever, how much closer are we to keeping pitchers healthy? Injury Territory brings sports medicine, biomechanics, injury analysis and performance science together to explain what’s really happening with the biggest names in baseball. What if Your First Pick Goes Down, RB Workload, and Injuries Ahead of Week 1

The NFL season is here. So are the injuries—and the consequences can get ugly fast. It’s Football Friday on Injury Territory, and Will Carroll and Edward Egros are breaking down the injuries, workloads and worst-case scenarios that could shape Week 1, the NFL season and your fantasy football roster. First, Will goes through the biggest injury questions ahead of the NFL’s staggered opening weekend. What should we expect from Alvin Kamara? How concerned should the San Francisco 49ers be about a lengthy injury list led by George Kittle, who is working his way back from an Achilles tear? Kittle has been activated from PUP and is trending toward a Week 1 return.   We also examine Breece Hall’s groin injury—with the Jets expecting him back for Week 1—and Michael Penix Jr.’s return in Atlanta.   Then Edward brings some original research to one of football’s oldest assumptions: How much work should an NFL running back actually get? The traditional bell-cow back has become increasingly rare, but does the data say that’s necessary? Edward looks at modern RB workload, usage and performance to ask whether the game has changed enough that the old rules about carries, touches and durability need to change with it. Finally, Will plays the game nobody wants to play: worst-case scenario. What happens if Jahmyr Gibbs, one of the very top players on 2026 fantasy draft boards, goes down in Week 1?   What happens if Brock Purdy gets caught in the wrong place against Myles Garrett or Aaron Donald? It’s easy to assume an NFL team simply goes to the next man up. The reality of losing an elite player—medically, strategically and statistically—can be much worse than you think. It’s not just an injury report. It’s injury intelligence: understanding who’s hurt, what the information actually means, and what happens next. If you’re searching for NFL Week 1 injuries, Alvin Kamara injury, George Kittle Achilles return, 49ers injuries, Breece Hall injury, Michael Penix Jr. injury, Jahmyr Gibbs fantasy football, Brock Purdy, NFL running back workload, bell-cow running backs, fantasy football injury analysis, NFL sports medicine, or return-to-play analysis, Football Friday on Injury Territory has you covered. #NFL #FantasyFootball #NFLInjuries #JahmyrGibbs #GeorgeKittle #BreeceHall #AlvinKamara #MichaelPenixJr #BrockPurdy #49ers #SportsMedicine #InjuryIntelligence #InjuryTerritory See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Judge Coming, Lombard Injured, Biomechanics, and more

October is getting closer, and getting healthy at the right time may matter as much as anything that happens in the standings. On this episode of Injury Territory, Will Carroll and Edward Egros check in on Aaron Judge’s impending return to the Yankees and what New York can realistically expect as its biggest star gets back on the field. We also look at George Lombard Jr.’s knee and how the Yankees can manage one of their most important young players without turning a short-term problem into a long-term one. The Atlanta Braves have spent much of the season dealing with injuries, but somehow they’ve kept finding answers. Will and Edward examine what Atlanta did right, what other organizations can learn from it, and why depth and injury management become increasingly important as the postseason approaches. Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks may be getting their rotation healthy at exactly the right moment. Is this good fortune, good planning, or a little of both? The featured conversation is with Brittany Dowling, MS, Director of Biomechanics at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and a director of the American Baseball Biomechanics Society. Dowling has spent years studying pitching mechanics, joint loading and the relationship between movement, performance and injury, including extensive work with professional pitchers.   Will and Brittany dig into what modern biomechanics can actually tell us about a baseball player, how motion-capture data has evolved, where biomechanics can help identify injury risk, and where the science still has limitations. It’s a conversation about moving beyond simply saying a delivery “looks good” or “looks dangerous” and toward understanding what the data actually measures—and how teams, clinicians and athletes can turn that information into better decisions. If you’re searching for Aaron Judge injury updates, Yankees injury news, George Lombard Jr. injury, Braves injuries, Diamondbacks rotation news, MLB playoff injuries, Brittany Dowling, baseball biomechanics, pitching mechanics, motion capture, pitching injury risk, sports medicine, baseball analytics, or return-to-play analysis, Injury Territory goes beyond the injury report to explain what the information actually means.
