    #34: The Vanishing at Winston Lake

    On August 26th, 55-year-old Marcus Nathan Simpson spoke with his family for the last time. Hours later, in the early morning darkness of August 27th, his car was seen near Winston Lake Park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He hasn't been seen since. It took a week for the silence to raise alarm. A welfare check on September 3rd came up empty, and by September 5th, Marcus was officially reported missing. When investigators searched his home, they found something that "elevated their concerns for his wellbeing." What they found, they haven't said. What followed was one of the most exhaustive searches Winston-Salem has mounted in recent memory: thirty detectives combing the woods on foot, dirt bikes and off-road vehicles covering every trail and greenway, drones sweeping the park not once but twice. And then came the water, sonar from two fire departments, an underwater drone from the Sheriff's Office, a submersible unit from Winston-Salem Fire, divers from High Point's water rescue team. Winston Lake was searched, and searched again. They found nothing. No Marcus. No car. The Find Me Project also deployed search resources to help, providing sonar and underwater search capability. We also open our intelligence process and prepare to ramp up the search. In this episode, we walk through what's known, what the evidence, and the silence, might mean, and why a search this thorough coming up empty can be its own kind of clue.     Le'Quanda Robinson has been found. The Missing Files — Le’Quanda Robinson: The Second Disappearance Le’Quanda Robinson has been missing from Kannapolis, North Carolina since February 7, 2025. She was sixteen. This is the second time. In 2024, a predator groomed her online, moved her across state lines, and held her in Illinois before the U.S. Marshals found her. He’s now facing multiple Class X felonies, including involuntary sexual servitude of a minor and remains held without bond awaiting trial. Nine months after coming home, Le’Quanda vanished again. Her mother believes it may be trafficking, again. This episode walks both cases side by side: what happened the first time, what’s on the record, and what’s still open.     #27: Brandi Merrick - Missing

    Brandi Merrick, 37, a mother of three, was last seen leaving a family member’s home in Charlotte on June 8th. On July 31st, her ex-boyfriend was charged with her murder. A judge has since denied him bond after prosecutors revealed cell phone data, forensic evidence, and a documented history of abuse.
