In this episode, I’m sitting down with my friend Karen Harmon for a conversation about faith, motherhood, health, pain, anger, doubt, and learning to trust God when His timing doesn’t look anything like we expected. Karen shares the raw and unforgettable story of becoming a mom, including the experience of delivering her son vaginally while dealing with a broken hip and without pain medication. Karen’s story goes far beyond one incredible birth story. We talk about pregnancy risks, autoimmune challenges, the emotions that come with prolonged pain, and what it looks like to bring our hardest questions and disappointments straight to God. Sometimes faith doesn’t look like having all the answers. Sometimes it looks like being honest with God in the middle of the anger, confusion, fear, and pain, and choosing to keep trusting Him anyway. Karen’s story is a beautiful reminder that we may not recognize the miracle while we’re living through the hardest part of the story. God’s timing can be different than ours, but He is still faithful.
