Episode 21: Gut Health and the Gut-Brain Conection: What God's Design Reveals

Episode 21: Gut Health and the Gut-Brain Connection: What God's Design Reveals Have you ever felt so stressed that your stomach was in knots — or so anxious you couldn't eat a bite? That's not just in your head. Your gut and your brain are in constant communication, and the more I've learned about this connection, the more amazed I am at how intentionally God designed our bodies. In this episode, I'm digging into the gut-brain axis, what your gut microbiome is actually doing for you, and why how you eat matters just as much as what you eat. I also share why I've personally gotten curious about functional gut testing, and where I think supplements do (and don't) fit into the picture. 🌿 In this episode you'll learn: What the gut-brain axis is and why stress shows up in your digestion How your gut microbiome supports far more than just digestion Why fiber and food variety matter for feeding your gut ecosystem When functional testing (like a comprehensive stool test) might be worth a conversation with your practitioner Why more supplements isn't automatically better — and how to think it through Three simple, non-overwhelming steps you can start this week 📖 Scripture referenced: Psalm 104:24 — "How many are your works, LORD! In wisdom you made them all." I use USANA products as part of my own wellness routine, and I mention a few in this episode. As a USANA Brand Partner, I earn a commission on products purchased through my links — I want to always be upfront about that with you. Episode 20: Learning the Hard Way: What My Healing Journey Has Taught Me

What if some of the biggest lessons in our healing journey come from the mistakes we make along the way? In this episode of Healing God’s Way, I get personal and share some of the mistakes I have made throughout my own healing journey—and what those experiences have taught me. From stopping movement after an injury, to emotional eating, neglecting rest, making less-than-ideal choices, and expecting God to do all the work, I open up about the things I am still learning, rather than pretending I have it all figured out. Together, we’ll explore what it means to care for the body God has entrusted to us, why healing requires both grace and personal responsibility, and how one imperfect choice doesn't have to become an entire day—or an entire life—of giving up. I also share practical, simple steps you can begin applying to your own wellness journey, along with encouragement from Scripture, including: 📖 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 — a reminder that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that we are called to honor God with our bodies. 📖 Proverbs 24:16 — “Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.” A beautiful reminder that falling doesn't mean failing. We can always get back up and begin again. If you've ever felt discouraged by your own setbacks or wondered if you've made too many mistakes to move forward, this episode is for you. You don't have to be perfect to begin again. Until next time, keep seeking peace, keep pursuing wellness, and keep following the One who knows exactly where He's leading you. Because true wellness begins with Him.   Interested in learning more about the wellness products I personally use and recommend? Episode 19: Whose Voice Are You Listening To? Learning To See Yourself Through God's Eyes

What if some of the things we believe about ourselves aren't actually true? In this deeply personal episode of Healing God's Way, I share some of the experiences and voices that have shaped the way I've seen myself—including painful relationships, struggles with my body, emotional eating, and the ways I've sometimes used food as both comfort and protection. For years, I allowed the opinions of others to become part of my identity. But I'm learning to ask a different question: What does God say about me? Psalm 139:14 reminds us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” while Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God's handiwork, created with purpose. I'm still learning to believe these truths—not just in my head, but in my heart. And I'm beginning to wonder if stepping out of hiding and sharing our stories might be part of our healing. Maybe our vulnerability can help another woman feel safe enough to share hers. This isn't an episode about having it all figured out. It's about learning to lay down the weight of other people's opinions, care for the bodies God has entrusted to us, and begin seeing ourselves through His eyes. If you've ever struggled with your worth, your body, emotional eating, shame, or simply feeling like you've lost yourself, I hope you'll listen. You are not alone. And maybe it's time to ask yourself: Whose voice are you listening to?   Want to Learn More About the Wellness Tools I Use? As part of my own wellness journey, I use nutritional supplements that I personally trust and have incorporated into my daily routine. Through my work as a health coach and USANA Brand Partner, I’m able to help women learn more about foundational nutrition and explore whether nutritional supplementation might be a helpful part of their own wellness journey. There is no pressure and no expectation to purchase anything. My goal is simply to provide information, answer questions, and help you make informed choices that feel right for you. If you're curious about the products I use or would like to learn more, I would love to connect with you. Episode 18: After the Healing: Will I Still Abide in God?

What happens after the healing? It's a question we don't often ask—but perhaps we should. After spending months or even years praying for healing, it's natural to wonder how life will change when God answers those prayers. Will we still seek Him with the same passion? Will we continue to abide in His presence? And who are we when our identity is no longer wrapped up in illness, injury, or the waiting? In this heartfelt episode of Healing God's Way, I share a very personal struggle I've been wrestling with: the unexpected fear of what comes after healing. Together, we'll explore what Jesus meant when He said, "Abide in Me" (John 15:4–5), why God warned the Israelites not to forget Him after entering the Promised Land (Deuteronomy 8), and how our true identity has never been found in our circumstances—but in Christ alone. We'll also talk about an emotion many people rarely admit: feeling guilty when our prayers are answered while others are still waiting. How do we receive God's blessings with gratitude while continuing to walk alongside those who are still trusting Him for their breakthrough? If you've ever wondered whether healing might change your relationship with God, this episode is for you. Scripture References: John 15:4–5 Deuteronomy 8:11 Psalm 139:14 Remember this: healing may change your circumstances, but it never changes your identity. You are, and always will be, God's beloved child. Healing God's Way—where faith meets wellness on the path to wholeness. Episode 17: God's Gift of Rest: Calming the Nervous System

Have you ever felt like your body doesn't know how to relax? Perhaps your mind is constantly racing, you struggle to slow down, or you feel like you've been living in survival mode for far too long. If so, you're not alone. In this episode of Healing God's Way, we'll explore how God designed our bodies with incredible wisdom and why His gift of Sabbath is just as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago. Together, we'll discover the connection between faith, rest, and calming the nervous system—and why true healing isn't just about doing more, but learning to trust God more deeply. I'll also share part of my own healing journey as I reflect on what it means to move from a life of striving into a life of peace. Plus, I'll offer five simple, faith-centered practices that can help support a calmer nervous system while drawing you closer to God's presence. Scripture References: Psalm 139:14 Exodus 20:8–10 Mark 2:27 Psalm 46:10 Matthew 11:28–30 If you've been carrying more than you were ever meant to carry, I pray this episode reminds you that God never designed you to live in constant survival mode. His invitation is simple: "Come to Me... and I will give you rest." Healing God's Way—where faith meets wellness on the path to wholeness. Episode 16: God Is Still Writing Your Story: Finding Purpose Beyond Menopause

Menopause is often viewed as the end of a chapter—but what if God sees it as the beginning of a new one? In this episode of Healing God's Way, we'll explore menopause through the lens of faith and discover that this season of life is not a mistake, a punishment, or the end of your purpose. God created every stage of a woman's life with intention, and He is still writing your story. I'll share my own experience with menopause—a transition that was physically mild but emotionally unexpected—as I wrestled with the feeling that an important part of my life had come to an end. Looking back now, I can clearly see that God wasn't closing a door. He was opening one. Today, I'm living out a new calling through this podcast, health coaching, and helping women embrace the hope and healing God has for them. We'll also look at the inspiring stories of Sarah, Elizabeth, and Anna—women whom God used in extraordinary ways later in life—and discover why our culture's definition of aging is so different from God's. Whether you're approaching menopause, walking through it, or have already experienced it, I pray this episode encourages you to embrace this season with hope, confidence, and expectancy. Scripture References: Ecclesiastes 3:1 Galatians 5:22–23 Sarah (Genesis 18–21) Elizabeth (Luke 1) Anna (Luke 2:36–38) Your hormones may be changing, but God's purpose for your life has not. Episode 15: Closer to God Through the Pain: Finding God's Presence in the Healing Journey

Pain is something we all try to avoid. But what if God could use our pain to draw us closer to Him? In this deeply personal episode of Healing God's Way, I share a lesson God taught me after my very first cupping therapy session. I expected to leave feeling better, but instead I left feeling sore. That unexpected experience reminded me that sometimes healing doesn't feel like healing at all. Together, we'll explore the incredible story of Job and discover how, even in the midst of unimaginable suffering, he came to know God more intimately than ever before. We'll also reflect on the promise of Romans 8:28—that God is able to work all things together for good for those who love Him—not because all things are good, but because He is a God of redemption. If you're walking through physical pain, emotional wounds, disappointment, or a season where healing seems harder than you expected, I pray this episode reminds you that you are never walking alone. God is present in your pain, faithful in the waiting, and always at work—even when you can't yet see the breakthrough. Scripture References: • Job 42:5 • Romans 8:28 • Romans 5:3–5 • James 1:2–4 • Psalm 34:18 Healing isn't just about reaching the destination. Sometimes the greatest miracle is discovering that God has been walking beside us every step of the journey. Healing God's Way—because true wellness begins with Him.   If you’re looking for simple, high-quality nutrition to support your health journey, I’d love to share what I personally use and trust. Episode 14: God Is Shaping You: Becoming More Than You Ever Imagined

Waiting can be one of the hardest parts of any healing journey. Whether you're waiting for physical healing, emotional restoration, financial breakthrough, or answers to long-awaited prayers, it's easy to wonder if God has forgotten you. But what if your waiting isn't wasted? In this episode of Healing God's Way, we'll explore how God used seasons of waiting to prepare some of the Bible's most faithful servants—including David, Joseph, Hannah, and Abraham. Their stories remind us that God's delays are not His absence. Often, He is doing His greatest work within us before He changes what is around us. As I share some of my own healing journey, I've come to realize that while I often focus on where I want God to take me, He is gently asking a different question: "Who are you becoming while you wait?" If you've ever felt discouraged because your healing seems to be taking longer than expected, I pray this episode will encourage you to trust that God is still working—even when you can't yet see the results. Scripture References: • 1 Samuel 16–24 (David) • Genesis 37–50 (Joseph) • 1 Samuel 1 (Hannah) • Genesis 12–21 (Abraham & Sarah) • Romans 5:3–5 • James 1:2–4 • Isaiah 40:31 Remember, God is often more interested in who you are becoming than simply where you are going. Healing God's Way—because true wellness begins with Him.   If you’re looking for simple, high-quality nutrition to support your health journey, I’d love to share what I personally use and trust.
