    Episode 2 - Taylor West

Today’s episode features one of the most decorated players in the history of James Madison University field hockey — Taylor West. From 2011 to 2015, Taylor was known for her dynamic movements, scoring ability, leadership, and all-around play. By the time she graduated, Taylor had tallied 56 goals and 130 points - ranking among the top scorers in JMU history. In terms of accolades, she was a multiple-time all-CAA team, CAA player of the year, and she also earned NFHCA All-American honours.  But her story didn’t stop in Harrisonburg. In 2016, West realized a lifelong dream, earning a place on the United States women's national field hockey team. She went on to earn more than 80 international caps, competing on some of the sport’s biggest stages — including the FIH World League and a bronze-medal performance at the Pan American Cup. In this conversation, we dive into the mindset behind sustained excellence, the transition to international competition, and the leadership lessons forged along the way.
