    We live in a world obsessed with self-improvement, often aiming for little more than being "decent" or "respectable". Yet, the Gospel offers a staggering audacity: God, who is Himself the definition of "complete," calls us—fractured and imperfect beings—to be perfect as He is perfect. God is not interested in merely patching up our cracks; He is interested in total renovation, treating us like a diamond of immense value that He is transforming into a palace for His own dwelling. Because this standard of holiness is impossible to reach by our own willpower, it is not a program of self-improvement, but a work of sanctification where we simply say "Yes" to the Architect.     Coffee with Mr. Bek_No One Is Hopeless

    Description: In our darker moments, we often label certain lives—the hardened criminal or the perpetual runaway—as "hopeless," a comfortable judgment that allows us to stop worrying about them. However, this stands in opposition to the character of God, as evidenced by the criminal on the cross who, despite having no time for "good works," received the promise of Paradise through a final act of repentance. Biblical hope originates from God, not human resources, and because grace is greater than sin, no human crime acts as a ceiling for the mercy of the Almighty. While the redeeming power of Christ is an offer rather than a mandate, the only truly "hopeless" case is one that refuses to repent and chooses despair over the hand of the Savior. We are called to abandon the luxury of giving up on people and instead pray for those who have set themselves against the light.
