Family, Friends and Tonnes

TaniaMH

This is a personal, candid account of my life as a mother and miner in Queensland Australia. I share the reasons, my experiences, my sacrifiices and how I made family, friends and tonnes work.  I include many anecdotes to highlight mining culture issues, barriers to women's progression and how a mining crew can work together to form a work family beyond all biases. There is a very human side to the dangerous work we do. Also in these podcasts will be honest advice for new miners and a look at how community, resilience, and humor shaped my career and that eventually became my life. Hopefully you will meet some of my fellow miners and learn their stories and their community hopes and achievements beyond the mining pit.
