    This week on Licensed Yapper, we’re having a conversation that is WAY too important to keep quiet about. We’re talking about the Cornell Seven, the culture of sexual harassment and assault, “locker room talk,” and why so many women feel like we have to constantly protect ourselves in a world that doesn’t always protect us. Why do we pretend to be on the phone when we’re walking alone? Why do we text our friends when we get home? Why do we think twice about pumping gas at night, going for a run alone, sitting at a bar by ourselves, or even helping a stranger? Why are women constantly taught to change our behavior because of what might happen to us? We’re also talking about the culture of silence, the responsibility men have to call out other men, and how misogyny shows up everywhere—from sports and music to social media and everyday conversations. And yes, we’re getting into the Exonerated Five and the complicated conversation around sexual assault, accountability, due process, race, power, and what happens when society gets these situations wrong. Because at the end of the day, SA can happen to ANYONE—and it can be committed by a stranger, a friend, a boyfriend, a husband, or someone you trust. Women deserve to feel safe.
