    The Self-Made Myth

Send us Fan Mail Your biggest wins can be the very thing that pulls you away from God, not because you stopped believing, but because you started feeling safe without Him. We talk honestly about the modern "self-made" mindset and why it's so tempting to give ourselves full credit when our business grows, our career takes off, our gifts get recognized, or our home life feels steady. We anchor the conversation in 2 Corinthians 3:5-6, where Paul says our adequacy is not from ourselves, but from God. We look at how Paul responds to critics who brag about credentials, and why he draws a hard line between human training and spiritual sufficiency. From there, we challenge a habit many Christians fall into: praying hard over what's broken, while barely covering what's thriving. What would change if we brought our strengths to God with the same seriousness as our needs? We also connect the dots through scripture and real-world examples, from the Tower of Babel and Abraham's calling to the warnings in the lives of powerful leaders who accepted glory that didn't belong to them. Then we zoom out to modern stories of overconfidence, collapse, and the slow drift that happens when people start believing they're untouchable. We bring it back to simple dependence with John 15:5 and the true emphasis of Philippians 4:13: we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Stop Begging In Prayer And Start Building Faith

Send us Fan Mail You can love God and still live like you’re trying to pay for Kingdom results with the wrong currency. I learned that the hard way in a very real moment of travel, and it opened my eyes to a spiritual truth I can’t shake: faith is the currency we use to transact in the Kingdom of God. When our faith is weak or undertrained, we end up stuck in constant prayer requests, constant desperation, and constant waiting for someone else to “boost” us. We anchor the teaching in Matthew 8 and the Roman centurion whose servant is suffering. Jesus offers to come in person, and the centurion stops him with one of the boldest lines in the Bible: “Just say the word.” Jesus marvels and calls it great faith, then makes a shocking comparison about Israel. From there, we go deep into Bible study, connecting the centurion’s confidence to Genesis: Elohim in Genesis 1 as the Creator who speaks realities into existence, and Yahweh Elohim in Genesis 2 as the intimate God who forms, breathes, and walks with his people. This conversation also challenges our hunger for signs, miracles, visions, and constant confirmation. Encounters matter, but chasing physical proof can train your heart to doubt the moment God speaks without the fireworks. We talk about Thomas, the blessing of believing before seeing, and the “process faith” that grows while you wait. Then we land on practical steps: increase your knowledge of God, align your words with Scripture, and speak what you want to see because God in you wants to express himself through you. If this sharpened your faith, subscribe, share it with someone who needs it, and leave a review so more listeners find the Light of Life Podcast. How To Protect Your Vision When Nobody Gets It

Send us Fan Mail When the people who should know you best look at your dream and shrug, it can mess with your confidence fast. We start with that tension head-on: what do you do when God gives you a clear vision, but your family, friends, or community treat it like it’s unrealistic, dramatic, or even “too much”? We sit in Mark 6 and watch Jesus face the same thing in his hometown. The crowd can’t separate the wisdom from the messenger, so they reduce him to a familiar identity and take offense. From there, we dig into the deeper sting of family doubt in Mark 3, including why Mary’s reactions make sense when you consider the pressure, danger, and pace of Jesus’ calling. Sometimes pushback isn’t hatred, it’s fear. Sometimes it’s protection. Sometimes it’s projection. Discernment helps you respond with wisdom instead of bitterness. Then we get practical. We talk boundaries that fiercely protect your focus, the hard truth that shared blood does not mean shared vision, and the rule you may need to live by: proximity does not equal access. We also anchor identity where it belongs, in what God says, revisiting the Father’s affirmation in Mark 1 and using scripture, journaling, and remembrance to stay grounded when opinions get loud. Forgiving Your Parents ( Father's Day Edition)

Send us Fan Mail We wrestle with the hard question of forgiving your parents when Scripture says to honor them but your history says you are hurt. I share my own journey from resentment to fond memories, then lay out practical steps to heal, set boundaries, and let God fill the gaps your family could not.  • the tension between honoring parents and acknowledging real harm  • why God’s comfort is meant to be paid forward to others  • how rigid, universal application of Scripture misses nuance and causes damage  • defining forgiveness as releasing resentment and letting go of “what could have been”  • why forgiveness is not forgetting, excusing, or minimizing the offense  • knowing your parent’s capacity for conversation before confronting issues  • researching a parent’s upbringing to humanize without excusing  • reparenting yourself, doing therapy or counseling, and addressing inner child wounds  • keeping healthy distance and setting boundaries while still showing honor  • how moving out can reduce friction and create space for healing  • turning parental inadequacy into deeper trust in God as the perfect Father  • choosing consistent love and focusing on any good to soften the heart over time  If you're new, I'm kindly asking you to subscribe.
