Zohran Mamdani Sold Out. Here Are The Receipts.

The NYPD trained its officers that the keffiyeh and the watermelon are antisemitic symbols. On September 29th, Mayor Zohran Mamdani released a 33-page Strategy to Combat Antisemitism that names the NYPD as one of its four core partners — five days after that department arrested more than 100 people protesting Benjamin Netanyahu.I went through every endnote in the report. 49.1% of its citations draw on Zionist-affiliated sources. Nearly a third come from explicit pro-Israel advocacy organizations. And in the section that establishes the threat the entire program responds to, 61.5% of the data comes from just two: the American Jewish Committee and UJA-Federation.The plan is modeled on Joe Biden's national strategy. J Street praised it. The ADL attacked it anyway. The organizations consulted disagreed only about how Zionist it should be.This is not a video denying antisemitism in New York. It's a video about what gets counted as antisemitism, who decided, and who ends up on the other end of the enforcement.SOURCES"Tackling Hate: The Mamdani Administration's Strategy to Combat Antisemitism," NYC Office of the Mayor, September 2026 — https://nyc.gov/content/dam/nycgov/mayors-office/downloads/pdf/press-releases/2026/2026-09-25-moca-report-interactive-5.pdfAlex Kane, "Training for NYPD Officers Categorized the Keffiyeh and Watermelon as Antisemitic Symbols," Jewish Currents, April 24, 2025Politico on the Biden model and J Street NYC's response, September 2026Jonathan Greenblatt, "It's Time to Admit It: The Left Has an Antisemitism Problem," ADL, July 9, 2021ADL New York/New Jersey statement on the strategy, September 2026Shurat HaDin, "Rage Against the Hate" conference, Museum of Jewish Heritage, October 27, 2025Middle East Eye on Melanie Phillips's remarks at the conferenceHellgate NYC on the NYPD and the West Bank land sale — https://hellgatenyc.com/nypd-shields-illegal-land-sale/The Forward on Phylisa Wisdom and New York Jewish AgendaHow Zohran Could/Should Arrest NetanyahuPart 1: Written, reported and produced by Guy Christensen.Support our independent work: https://yourfavoriteguy.com/subscribeCHAPTERS0:00 Zohran Mamdani Started Funding Zionists1:48 Zohran Mamdani's Antisemitism Strategy Announcement3:29 Key Points of Criticism Against Mamdani4:45 Political Alliances and Business Councils6:14 Shift from Radical Views to Liberal Zionism7:15 Analyzing the Anti-Semitism Strategy Document8:33 Political Connections and Praise from J Street9:40 Where Is the Funding Going?11:11 Surveillance and Controversial Museum Trips13:11 Protecting Synagogues Hosting Illegal Palestinian Land Sales14:30 Targeting Pro-Palestinian Figures and Activists15:58 Community Reactions and Criminalizing Anti-Zionism17:38 Footnotes and Conflating Data in the Report19:25 Racial Profiling, Surveillance, and Personal Experience with State Pressure20:09 Personal Consequences of Pro-Palestinian Activism22:02 The Backfire and Pushback from All Sides23:21 Rejection from Both Zionists and Supporters25:24 ADL and J Street Responses27:32 Broader Political Implications and PR Disaster28:29 Lack of Focus on Other Forms of Discrimination30:07 Billionaire Alliances and Missed Economic Sanctions32:13 Reactions and Smears Following Previous Critiques33:56 Call to the DSA and Critique of Electoralism36:07 Systemic Analysis, Class Consciousness, and Support38:41 Postscript: Radio Call-In and FBI Interrogation Memory40:17 Personal Experience with FBI Interrogation Get full access to Guy Christensen at www.yourfavoriteguy.com/subscribe

He Said He’d Arrest Netanyahu, Then Netanyahu Came

The mayor of New York City planted an olive tree on Tuesday night and filmed it. The video went out on Thursday afternoon, timed almost to the minute of Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations, and ended with the words “an olive tree grows in Gracie.” His supporters called it classy. By then the Strategic Response Group; the unit he pledged to disband — had already been arresting people on First Avenue for over an hour. I want to be clear about my own position before I say anything else. I promoted Zohran Mamdani. I promoted him during the recent theater. I am not writing this from a position of having warned you, and I’m not interested in the version of this argument that gets to be smug about it. I’m coming out with this because holding Zohran to a lower standard than we would hold any other head of state is American privilege, plainly. Our comrades in Gaza do not get to be graded on a curve. And because the accountability our movement refuses to apply to the people we elect is precisely the accountability that gets traded away the moment they have something to lose. The argument of this piece is not that Mamdani is uniquely bad. It’s that the specific case against him; a campaign promise abandoned, a police commissioner kept on for the first time in seventy years, a Zionist governor endorsed, a Speaker endorsed one day after his Kushner meeting broke, a protest unit he swore to dissolve making the arrests; is the clearest test case we have for whether electing our own inside the Democratic Party produces anything other than better press. Please subscribe, this one took a lot of work.
