Episode 35: We Can Disagree and Still Love Each Other

EPISODE 35: WE CAN DISAGREE AND STILL LOVE EACH OTHER What if the most Christlike thing we do this holiday season isn’t winning a debate, but listening long enough for someone to finally feel safe enough to tell the truth? In this episode of Awakened Her, I’m talking about how we can have strong beliefs, speak honestly, and maintain healthy boundaries without losing our compassion for one another. We do not have to agree on everything to choose love. As families begin gathering for the holidays, I want us to slow down before assuming we know what is happening inside another person. The quiet person at the table may be grieving. The relative who leaves early may be overwhelmed. The person whose beliefs have changed may have walked a road we have never taken the time to understand. Sometimes the better response isn’t, “Let me tell you why you’re wrong.” Sometimes it’s simply, “Can you tell me more?” I also talk about becoming a fruit inspector. Think about how carefully we examine fruit at the grocery store before bringing it home. Why aren’t we equally intentional about examining the fruit produced by the people and relationships we allow into our lives? Discernment is not the same as condemnation. We can pay attention to patterns, conduct, accountability, kindness, consistency, and respect for boundaries without pretending we know everything inside another person’s heart. We also have to be willing to examine our own fruit. Are we listening to understand, or are we only waiting for our turn to respond? Can we recognize a real apology and changed behavior? Can we honor someone who trusts us with a painful story without immediately interrupting, correcting, comparing, or throwing Scripture at them? Sometimes people need guidance. Sometimes they need practical help. Sometimes they simply need to know that another human being heard them. I also speak directly to those of us who feel everything deeply. Being sensitive to another person’s emotions can be a beautiful gift, but it does not mean we are responsible for carrying everyone’s pain or repairing every relationship around us. Compassion still needs boundaries. Awakened Her may have begun as a message to women, but men are welcome here too. I want to recognize the good men, devoted fathers, providers, protectors, and partners whose sacrifices are often made quietly. Some men have trusted me with their stories about fatherhood, custody battles, heartbreak, long workdays, and the effort it took to keep showing up when they felt unseen. To those men: I see you. You are not forgotten. Relationships are not supposed to be one person endlessly pouring while the other only receives. We are meant to encourage one another, support one another, and become a team. This episode also looks more closely at 1 Timothy 5:22: “Lay hands suddenly on no man.” In context, this passage concerns responsibility surrounding leadership and appointment. It was never meant to make Christians afraid to comfort someone who is hurting. Love respects consent, wisdom, safety, and boundaries. But when a hug is welcomed, let it be real. Be present. Slow down. Let another person know, even for a moment, “You are still human to me. I am here, and I am listening.” We may not repair an entire relationship in one conversation. We may still disagree when we leave the table. But we can listen longer, ask better questions, apologize when necessary, and stop treating every difference as a battle that someone must win. We don’t need a winner at the dinner table. We need room for one another. Before your next gathering, ask yourself: What am I willing to learn? What boundary do I need to express? What kindness can I offer without requiring someone to earn it first? Scriptures discussed in this episode include James 1:19, Matthew 7:1–20, John 7:24, Galatians 5:22–23, Ecclesiastes 3:7, Mark 12:31, Hebrews 13:2, 1 Timothy 5:22, and 2 Timothy 1:7. Episode 34 | I Will Not Dim My Light: What Do You Need?

What do you need right now—not what the world expects from you, but what your heart and spirit genuinely need? Many of us have spent years dimming our light to keep other people comfortable. We have questioned our gifts, searched for validation, carried the weight of betrayal, and allowed fear of the unknown to keep us from rising. In this episode of Awakened Her, Holly Key shares why saying “Watch me rise” is not about ego. It is the declaration of a woman who has found herself on the floor and decided she would not remain there. If you have experienced divorce, betrayal, lost friendships, judgment, rejection, or a season in which you barely recognized yourself, this message is for you. IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT: • Refusing to dim your light for other people • Rising after divorce, betrayal, loss, and rejection • Finding your identity without external validation • Recognizing and developing your God-given gifts • Walking by faith when the future feels uncertain • Learning to become still and recognize God’s voice • Christ consciousness and the presence of Christ within us • Protecting your peace and energy around difficult people • Setting loving boundaries without guilt • Preparing emotionally and spiritually for the holidays • Choosing community, connection, and love over material pressure • Seeing divine reminders in unexpected places • Having the courage to walk forward into the unknown The holidays do not have to be about financial pressure, perfect appearances, or buying more than you can afford. They can be about community, love, presence, healing, and remembering what genuinely matters. You are not responsible for every argument, every disagreement, or every emotional reaction around you. Everything is not your assignment. You are allowed to say, “I love you, but I do not want to have this conversation,” and protect your peace. You do not need anyone’s permission to rise. You do not need anyone’s validation to become who God created you to be. You do not have to keep shrinking so other people feel comfortable. I refuse to dim my light anymore—and neither should you. 🎵 FEATURED SONG IN THIS EPISODE “I Won’t Dim My Light / Watch Me Rise” — Holly Key Stay through the closing message to hear today’s featured song—a declaration for every woman who has decided she will no longer shrink, hide, or dim her light to make other people comfortable. Episode 33: The Waiting Room — Why Are You Not Listening?

EPISODE 33: THE WAITING ROOM — WHY ARE YOU NOT LISTENING? What if the season you keep calling loneliness is actually an invitation to finally hear yourself—and God—clearly? In this episode of Awakened Her, Holly Key explores the “waiting room”: the space between the life you have outgrown and the life that has not fully arrived yet. When being alone feels unbearable, we may choose relationships for relief rather than alignment. We overlook the warnings, repeat familiar patterns, and ask God why something happened—even when our bodies, intuition, and the Holy Spirit had been trying to get our attention. Sometimes the pattern is the answer. Holly shares what she has learned about solitude, inner-child healing, meditation, sound, abundance, breaking cycles, and turning loneliness into something creative. Instead of returning to what hurt you, that energy can become music, prayer, journaling, a book, a business, or the beginning of an entirely different life. IN THIS EPISODE: • The difference between loneliness and sacred solitude• Why fear of being alone can make us settle• Choosing a person versus choosing temporary relief• Recognizing the warnings your body and intuition have already given you• Why closure may simply be accepting that the pattern was the answer• How prayer, meditation, and stillness can help you hear clearly• Holly’s personal experience using sound frequencies as a calming practice• The spiritual symbolism surrounding 144,000• Questioning inherited beliefs about money, worth, and abundance• Healing the inner child and learning to trust yourself again• Breaking cycles instead of taking another lap around the same mountain• The Pause, Name, Test, and Choose method for making grounded decisions This episode is not about condemning anyone or telling everyone to leave their relationships. It is an invitation to stop ignoring what you already know. Ask yourself: Why am I not listening? What has my body been trying to tell me?Am I choosing this person—or choosing relief from being alone? What would change if I trusted the wisdom God placed within me? Episode 31 — The Shockwave: When Awakening Shakes Everything You Thought You Knew

Episode 31 | The Shockwave: When Awakening Shakes Everything You Thought You Knew What happens after the breakthrough—when you're beginning to find yourself, but still learning how to live with the changes? In this honest, faith-centered episode of Awakened Her, Holly Key shares how experiences she calls awakening changed the way she sees her life, beliefs, and old patterns. She marks November 11 as a personal turning point and describes a seven-step sequence she recognizes in her own journey—offered as a reflection, rather than a scorecard for anyone else's growth. A year into her journey, Jesus remains at the center of Holly's faith. She makes room for honest questions without the pressure to solve everything at once, and for practical care when stress starts crowding out clarity. A blueberry mocktail, an evening by the sea, and time with her daughter bring an unexpected realization: Holly had stopped allowing herself to enjoy parts of her life after betrayal. Her new song Life After Betrayal gives language to that moment—“Shame was never mine to keep”—and to the choice to welcome joy while healing is still underway. Holly explores the “waiting room” as an image for practicing new choices while life feels unsettled. She tells the story of an unexpected housing opportunity during her Christian-bookstore years and why she experienced it as God's provision. Through humor, lived experience, and practical examples, she connects trust with action, boundaries with care, and growth with staying present in the life she loves. This conversation offers a brief grounding pause and a simple seven-day practice. Holly reflects on Elijah's rest in 1 Kings 19, listening before reacting in James 1:19, and the everyday fruit of faith in Galatians 5:22–23. Her song Shockwave provides the image at the heart of the episode: Holly's vision of love spreading through homes, communities, and generations. She briefly distinguishes the physical pressure wave from her artistic metaphor, then shows how a private breakthrough can change the care we practice and pass on. She shares how a lyric can offer courage long after it was written. Your practice this week: pause when something stirs you up, separate what happened from what you're assuming, and choose one grounded next step. Make room for one small, safe pleasure you've been postponing; joy and sadness can coexist. At the end of the day, ask: Where did I stay present without leaving myself behind? Episode 30: Phoenix Rising — Turn Your Pain Into Power Without Becoming Bitter

Phoenix Rising Turn Your Pain Into Power Without Becoming Bitter Episode Description What if the fire did not get to decide who you became? In Episode 30, Holly Key completes the journey from the Empath, through the Dark Empath crossroads, and into the Phoenix. This is a story-led conversation about honoring anger without becoming ruled by it, protecting the younger self you once abandoned, setting boundaries without bitterness, and turning pain into truth, creativity, faith and purposeful action. Holly shares how survival can postpone grief, how self-trust is rebuilt through small choices, why a boundary is not revenge, and how music became a container for truths she could no longer keep buried. The episode closes with prayer and Holly’s powerful Phoenix Rising video. In This Episode • Why moving forward can look like healing even when grief is still waiting underneath • The difference between sharpened discernment and weaponized understanding • How choosing your inner child builds self-trust instead of bitterness • Why anger can reveal the truth without becoming your permanent address • A practical shield-of-love visualization for remaining openhearted and protected • How grief, poetry and music can give pain another language • What Holly directs when she creates music with AI-assisted production tools • Why the Phoenix is not the woman who never burned, but the woman who chose what the fire would become Reflection Practice When an old fear, urgency or abandonment pattern rises, pause and ask: • What is happening right now, without the story fear is adding to it? • What is this feeling trying to reveal or protect? • What choice allows me to remain loving without abandoning myself? Episode 29 — The Dark Empath: When Understanding Becomes a Weapon

In Episode 29 of the Awakened Her Podcast, Holly Key enters the shadow without building a house there. What happens when the woman who has spent her life understanding everyone else finally becomes angry? Does having dark thoughts make her a dark person—or has a wounded woman simply reached a crossroads? Holly breaks down the idea of the “dark empath” in plain language. This is not about diagnosing everyone who disappoints us. It is about recognizing repeated patterns in which someone understands another person’s emotions, fears, and vulnerabilities—and then uses that knowledge to manipulate, control, shame, or wound them. Through an anonymized real-life story shared with permission, Holly explores how prolonged conflict can leave a deeply giving woman exhausted, angry, and frightened by her own thoughts. She explains why anger is information—not a final instruction—and how prayer, boundaries, inner-child healing, and honest shadow work can interrupt the desire to retaliate. In this episode: • What the term “dark empath” means—and what it does not mean• Why anger, exhaustion, and dark thoughts do not automatically define your character• The difference between emotional understanding and genuine care• How an old wound can be activated by a present conflict• Why another woman’s light does not diminish yours• How jealousy can reveal fear, scarcity, or an inner child who still needs reassurance• The difference between protection and punishment• The difference between personal power and control• Why compassion does not require continued access• How faith, boundaries, and self-love can coexist• Holly’s daily shield-of-love practice• The Shockwave of Love visualization• How the empath moves through the shadow and begins rising as the Phoenix A thought is information. The honest feeling is not the final instruction. You can acknowledge your anger without allowing it to lead you. You can understand someone’s pain without accepting their behavior. You can pray for someone from behind a locked door—and you do not have to leave the key under the mat. This episode includes a special preview of Holly Key’s upcoming song “Shockwave” and concludes with “The Catalyst,” a deeply personal song about survival, emotional release, visibility, healing, and allowing light to reach what had been buried. Episode 28 The Empath - You Don't Have To Carry It All

Episode 28: The Empath — Feel Deeply Without Losing Yourself | Part One Being sensitive is not the problem. Losing yourself while carrying everybody else is. In Part One of the Empath series, Holly Key explores what empathy really is, why certain relationship patterns can feel so magnetic, and how compassion can quietly become self-abandonment when access has no boundary. Through humor, the LIGHT method, the spider-and-the-light story, and a powerful sea-turtle revelation, Holly offers practical ways to remain openhearted without handing away the master key to your life. In this episode: • The difference between empathy, emotional absorption, and self-abandonment • Why an empath may not attract more unhealthy people—but may allow them greater access • How familiar patterns, potential, chemistry, and boundary guilt can keep unhealthy cycles alive • Why understanding someone’s wounds does not require accepting harmful behavior • The LIGHT method for checking your body, the evidence, ownership, boundaries, and truth • A seven-day pause practice for rebuilding trust with yourself • How sensitivity can remain tender, multidimensional, and strong • Why another woman’s success is evidence of possibility—not proof of your scarcity Follow Awakened Her so you don’t miss Part Two, where we will explore shadow work and the research surrounding the dark empath, followed by Part Three: The Phoenix.
