The Ban List is a weekly MARVEL SNAP podcast where notmydance teams up with multiple content creators to debate the systems, mechanics, and design choices that frustrate MARVEL SNAP players long-term. This isn’t about OTAs or card nerfs, it’s about the feel of the game. If we agree, it goes to Meta Roast and joins the Ban List. If we disagree, it goes to Snap Court for a full debate. Community submissions are featured every week, and one could be on trial next. Comedy-forward, honest, and built for players who love MARVEL SNAP but want it to be better.

Decks are Broken! | The Ban List EP 18 w/ GreGor

Welcome back to the Ban List for episode 18, the monthly Marvel Snap podcast where notmydance brings on a guest (lowercase now that ItsGuestGaming is contracted with Second Dinner) to debate the systems, design, choices, and long-term frustrations that deserve a spot on the wall and to be banned! This week, Gregor2424 is here to talk about his frustrations that he wants to bring up that he personally would like to see bettered and changed in Marvel Snap. We discuss Gregor’s frustrations with OTA (Over The Air) Balance Updates and why he wants bigger changes that directly address problematic cards, leading to a debate about power creep and buffing older cards. Afterwards, we tackle Marvel Snap’s lacking alliance social features and discuss why the deck-building interface needs better filters and more information about your deck. We then call out the misleading “Daily Cards” shop section and web-shop bundles that offer variants you already own without warning you. Following a discussion about inaccurate cube totals and ladder ranks, we end the conversation debating whether new cards are making older cards irrelevant by filling the same roles. The goal is to continue doing these episodes, with a different creator brought on each time! So if you have something in particular that you would like to have band and potentially earn a season pass in doing so, use BANME in your comment, and you have the chance to be chosen for a future episode! Marvel Snap is Dead on Twitch | The Ban List EP 17 w/ Jeff Hoogland

Welcome back to the Ban List for episode 17, the monthly Marvel Snap podcast where notmydance brings on a guest (lowercase now that ItsGuestGaming is contracted with Second Dinner) to debate the systems, design, choices, and long-term frustrations that deserve a spot on the wall and to be banned! This week,  @JeffHoogland  is here to talk about his frustrations that he wants to bring up that he personally would like to see bettered and changed in Marvel Snap. We discuss his gripes with the snapping in the game, and how it is no longer the test of skill it once was at the beginning of Marvel Snap's lifecycle. We realize that he has spent thousands of hours in this game before he calls out Conquest mode's lack of iteration, which has made it feel abandoned. Afterwards, we discuss the OTA (Over The Air) Balance Updates and why they can feel bad, and what about them should be banned. Following us learning the legalities of the "Delete Account" button, as well as finding multiple issues with different sections of the Marvel Snap in-game shop, we end the conversation discussing gripes with live chats. The goal is to continue doing these episodes, with a different creator brought on each time! Don’t “Play” Marvel Snap | The Ban List EP 16 w/ Ika

Welcome back to the Ban List for episode 16, the monthly Marvel Snap podcast where notmydance brings on a guest (lowercase now that ItsGuestGaming is contracted with Second Dinner) to debate the systems, design, choices, and long-term frustrations that deserve a spot on the wall and to be banned! This episode, Ika is here to talk about his frustrations that he wants to bring up that he personally would like to see bettered and changed in Marvel Snap. We discuss his gripes with the Objectives within the game, and how it mirrors the benefits and detriments of Marvel Snap paralleling fighting games. Then we experience the first ever powerpoint on the Ban List, on the subject of why splitting cards is actually bad for the art. Somehow, a discussion about the Play button turns into an argument about cubes? Anyways, they then discuss the life system in conquest and why Gold should differ from proving grounds. They end off the episode with a the ban being held by only chance! The goal is to continue doing these episodes, with a different creator brought on each time! Hopefully I have less audio issues in future episodes as well! So if you have something in particular that you would like to have band and potentially earn a season pass in doing so, use BANME in your comment, and you have the chance to be chosen for a future episode! Premium Mystery Variants Don’t Feel Premium | EP 13

Welcome to The Ban List Episode 13, where we put some of the most frustrating systems, communication issues, and design inconsistencies in MARVEL SNAP on trial. This episode starts with one of the clearest examples of broken player expectation in the current economy: Premium Mystery Variants not actually delivering the kind of variant experience players think they are buying into. When a system is presented as premium, the reward should feel clean, exciting, and trustworthy. Instead, this kind of outcome creates confusion, disappointment, and a growing sense that SNAP’s cosmetic economy is becoming harder to believe in at face value.

Silver Conquest Is The Problem | The Ban List EP 12

Welcome to The Ban List Episode 12, the weekly MARVEL SNAP podcast where we put the game’s most annoying systems, design choices, and long-term frustrations on trial. This week’s episode covers one of the weirdest mixes we’ve had in a while, because Episode 12 jumps between clarity problems, economy friction, mode structure, and the kinds of effects that make matches feel worse in practice than they sound on paper.

Pixel Variants Went Too Far | EP 11

Welcome to The Ban List Episode 11, the weekly MARVEL SNAP podcast where we put recurring frustrations, design misses, and long-term player pain points on trial. This week’s episode is built around one core theme: surfaces that make the game, community, and surrounding SNAP ecosystem feel worse than they need to.Some of these are community problems. Some are design problems. Some are product problems. But they all connect to the same bigger idea, which is friction that feels unnecessary, outdated, or poorly thought through.
