A deeply commited Jewish activist, Laura is an important figure in the American pro-Israel community and holds leadership roles in many of the nation's most important Zionist and Jewish organizations. Laura joined the Unapologetically Jewish Podcast with Shana Meyerson to discuss what it means to follow your passion and turn it into tangible results. Laura both inspires and teaches us how all Jews can—and should be—activists for Israel. Laura Stein is Of Counsel to the law firm of Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP and since 1995 has practiced in the areas of securities class action litigation, complex litigation and legislative law. Laura has developed a national practice serving as an asset recovery expert, with a focus on minimizing losses suffered by shareholders due to corporate fraud and breaches of fiduciary duty working with hundreds of institutional investors worldwide, including Israel. Laura earned her BA and JD from the University of Pennsylvania. Laura currently serves as a leader in several community and national organizations. She sits on the National Campaign Advisory Committee for Israel Bonds as well serving as the Chair of the Women’s Division of Los Angeles, the Board of Directors of Beat the Streets Los Angeles, the Board of Governors of Cedars Sinai Medical Center, WIZO Israel Leadership Forum, and on the Board of Directors of the American Friends of Sheba Medical Center. Laura and her husband, Sam Goldfeder, also serve on the Advisory Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Monica. As a parent to a UNC Chapel Hill student, Laura serves on the Executive Committee of the UNC Parents Council as Class of 2022 Chair, and on the North Carolina Hillel Board of Directors. A sports industry influencer, Eric has recruited NBA, NFL, and MLB athletes to create a iconic team of players speaking up against antisemitism. Eric joined the Unapologetically Jewish Podcast with Shana Meyerson to discuss the role and responsibility of famous athletes when it comes to fighting social injustice, as well as Eric’s moving and inspiring personal story of deciding to move to Israel just days after the October 7th massacre. Eric Rubin is an experienced nonprofit executive focused on combatting antisemitism and anti-Zionism. He was recently recognized by the Knesset as a Voice of Iron for Israel for his exceptional advocacy defending Israel’s truth during the Swords of Iron War. Currently, Eric is the President and CEO of Project Max which is an organization comprised of current and former professional athletes that combat racism, antisemitism, and intolerance through sports; a Global Ambassador for the Maccabi World Union; and holds several other roles in the field of sports and culture.     Adam Louis-Klein, Founder of the Movement Against Antizionism (MAAZ), has a message for the world: antizionism is an injustice that must be brought to an end. Adam joined the Unapologetically Jewish Podcast with Shana Meyerson to discuss antizionism, its manifestation as the new antisemitism, and where hope lies for the future of Israel and the Jewish people. Adam Louis-Klein is a writer, philosopher, and anthropologist completing a PhD in Anthropology at McGill University. His work explores Jewish peoplehood and sovereignty, and contemporary anti-Jewish ideologies such as antizionism. Drawing on fieldwork in the Amazon with the Desana people, he brings a comparative lens to questions of identity, indigeneity, and collective belonging.
