033: "Am I Intuitive Enough?" How to Trust Your Psychic Abilities & Stop Comparing Your Connection to Others

Do you have to feel a certain level of psychic ability before it counts as real? In this episode of Spirit and the Medium, psychic medium Jennifer opens up about her own year of self-doubt as a working medium — sitting with clients, receiving validated information, and still privately wondering if she was making it all up. If you've ever picked up an intuitive hit, a hunch, or a feeling and immediately talked yourself out of it — or compared your intuition and psychic development to someone else's and came up feeling "not enough" — this episode is for you. Jennifer breaks down why your ego works overtime to make you forget your own evidence, why confidence is never a prerequisite for connection, and why a quiet, subtle intuitive style is just as legitimate as a vivid, visual one. This episode also gets honest about something rarely talked about in spiritual development spaces: you cannot hear a whisper over noise. If you're depleted, over-giving, and running on empty, your connection will feel distant — and that's not proof you're not intuitive, it's proof you need rest and boundaries. Plus, Jennifer reframes what "helping people" with your gifts can actually look like — and why it doesn't require a client list to count. In this episode: Why questioning your abilities isn't a beginner problem (it followed Jennifer a full year into professional readings) How your ego works to make you forget your own intuitive evidence Why comparing your intuitive style to someone else's holds you back The link between rest, boundaries, and how clearly you can hear Spirit Why "helping people" with your intuition doesn't require doing it professionally A simple practice for building trust in your own psychic hits over time ✨ WORK WITH JENNIFER Book a psychic mediumship session: cal.com/spiritandthemedium Visit my website: www.spiritandthemedium.com To connect with other trusted psychic mediums and healers, check out Jennifer's teammates at www.themodernmedium.ca

032: Is It Just My Imagination? How to Trust Your Intuition, Psychic Signs & Spirit Communication

Psychic signs, intuition, and spirit communication –  how do you know the difference between "just your imagination" and an actual message from Spirit? In this episode of Spirit and the Medium, psychic medium Jennifer shares the childhood moment that taught her to silence her own intuition and psychic abilities, and the science-backed reason your five senses aren't as reliable as you think (spoiler: your eyes only perceive 0.0035% of the electromagnetic spectrum). If you've ever dismissed a hunch, an intuitive nudge, a flash of insight, or a sign from a loved one who passed as "just your imagination" or worried it meant something was wrong with you, this episode is your permission slip to stop. Jennifer breaks down how remote viewing, manifestation, the law of attraction, and mediumship all rely on the same thing: imagination as a real, trainable sense — not fantasy, but frequency. Whether you're new to your spiritual awakening, exploring your own psychic abilities, or you've always felt "too sensitive" or "too weird" to talk about what you perceive, this episode will help you start trusting the parts of you that were never actually broken. In this episode: Why we trust our 5 senses completely — even though they only capture a tiny slice of reality The real reason "that's just your imagination" became a dismissal, not an explanation How imagination works as a sixth sense for intuition, psychic ability & spirit communication Why creative people are often the most intuitive people A simple practice to start trusting your own psychic and intuitive signs   ✨ WORK WITH JENNIFER Book a psychic mediumship session: cal.com/spiritandthemedium Visit my website: www.spiritandthemedium.com To connect with other trusted psychic mediums and healers, check out Jennifer's teammates at www.themodernmedium.ca

031: Grounding, Mediumship & Spiritual Practice with Mandy, The Grounded Medium: How to Stay Present, Connected & In Your Body

What does it actually mean to be grounded, and why is grounding so important for mediumship, intuition, spirituality, and your everyday life? In this episode of Spirit and the Medium, I'm joined by my friend Mandy, also known as The Grounded Medium, for a conversation about grounding, mediumship, spiritual awakening, intuition, energy, emotions, and what it really means to stay connected to yourself while working with Spirit. Mandy and I originally intended to record an interview, but – as often happens when two mediums get together – we ended up having a much deeper conversation about what it means to be human and spiritual at the same time. We talk about why so many spiritual people become focused on "ascending" and reaching higher vibrations, while forgetting the importance of coming back into the body and connecting with the Earth. We explore the difference between being spiritually open and becoming overwhelmed, how to recognize when you may be carrying energy or emotions that aren't yours, and why grounding isn't about escaping uncomfortable feelings – it can actually mean learning to stay present with them. Mandy shares her own journey into mediumship, including how Reiki helped her understand energetic flow and begin to discern what was hers and what belonged to someone else. We also talk about spiritual development, personal growth, spiritual bypassing, self-compassion, judgment, authenticity, and why you can't truly ground yourself while constantly avoiding the parts of yourself you don't want to feel. And then we get practical. Mandy shares simple grounding practices you can actually incorporate into your everyday life – including creating quiet time before consuming outside information, setting an intention for your day, sitting in stillness, getting outside, walking, spending time around trees, and choosing one spiritual practice to consistently practice rather than collecting endless techniques. We also talk about something I think so many of us need to hear: knowing something intellectually isn't the same as embodying it. Spiritual practice becomes meaningful when we actually live it. If you've been feeling scattered, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, overly influenced by other people's energy, or like you're spending so much time in your head that you've forgotten what it feels like to simply be here, this conversation is for you. In this episode, you'll hear about: ✨ Grounding and why it matters for mediums, psychics, and spiritually curious people ✨ How to stay connected to Spirit while remaining present in your body ✨ Grounding practices for everyday life ✨ How to recognize when you're absorbing other people's emotions or energy ✨ The connection between grounding, self-love, and self-compassion ✨ Spiritual awakening and learning to feel uncomfortable emotions ✨ Spiritual bypassing and the "love and light" trap ✨ Why stillness and quiet are essential spiritual practices ✨ Grounding through nature, walking, and time away from screens ✨ How to create more space between reacting and responding ✨ Why spiritual growth isn't about arriving at a destination – it's about continually becoming Mandy is one of the most grounded people I know, and I absolutely loved this conversation. I hope you get from it what I always get when I spend time with her: a little more permission to slow down, come back to yourself, and remember that you are both human and Spirit. And perhaps most importantly, to remember that grounding isn't about becoming less spiritual. It's about becoming more fully here. 030: Emotional Healing & Spiritual Growth: Why You Need to Feel Your Feelings

Emotional healing begins when we stop intellectualizing our feelings and actually allow ourselves to feel them. In this episode of Spirit and the Medium, Jennifer explores why analyzing, understanding, fixing, or searching for the spiritual lesson behind an emotion can sometimes keep us from actually processing it. If you tend to overthink your emotions, explain away your sadness, justify your anger, search for the deeper meaning behind your pain, or immediately look for the spiritual lesson whenever something difficult comes up, this episode is for you. Jennifer shares her own experience of intellectualizing painful emotions and how she discovered that understanding a feeling intellectually isn't the same as actually feeling it. She talks about emotional healing, intuition, spiritual growth, inner child work, releasing old emotional patterns, and why being spiritual doesn't mean rising above difficult human emotions like sadness, anger, fear, and grief. In this episode, you'll hear about: Why we intellectualize our emotions instead of feeling them The difference between processing a feeling intellectually and actually experiencing it Why uncomfortable emotions can continue affecting our relationships and lives when we don't fully process them How feeling your emotions can help release old patterns Why you don't need to immediately find the spiritual lesson in everything you experience The connection between emotional healing and intuition Why feeling sadness or anger doesn't mean you're "manifesting" more negativity How inner child work can support emotional healing Why spirituality isn't about bypassing the human experience How learning to sit with difficult emotions can help you trust yourself more deeply Why you are allowed to feel something without understanding it Your emotions aren't something you need to immediately fix, analyze, transcend, or explain. Sometimes the wisdom comes after we allow ourselves to fully experience what we're feeling. Feel it first. Understand it later. Because we're not here to think our way out of being human. We're here to experience being both spirit and human. If you're curious about spirituality, intuition, mediumship, and feeling more connected to the spirit you are in your every day life, then this show is for you. ✨ WORK WITH JENNIFER Book a psychic mediumship session: cal.com/spiritandthemedium Visit my website: www.spiritandthemedium.com To connect with other trusted psychic mediums and healers, check out Jennifer's teammates at www.themodernmedium.ca

029: When Your Intuition Says Nothing: How to Trust Yourself When You Don't Get a Sign or Answer From Spirit

What does it mean when your intuition is silent and Spirit isn't giving you a clear answer? If you've ever asked for guidance, waited for a sign, pulled tarot or oracle cards, and received nothing but confusion, this episode of Spirit and the Medium is for you. As a psychic medium, tarot reader, and spiritual teacher, Jennifer knows firsthand how frustrating it can be when you desperately want guidance from Spirit and seem to receive nothing. In this episode, she shares a deeply personal story about a difficult relationship, her desperate search for a clear answer from Spirit, and the unexpected sign she finally received only after she had let go of her need for certainty. You'll explore the difference between intuition and the ego's need for certainty, why trying too hard to receive a spiritual sign can actually make it harder to hear your intuition, and why Spirit may not always give you a simple "yes" or "no." Jennifer also shares practical questions you can ask yourself when you're facing a difficult decision and your intuition seems completely quiet. Most importantly, you'll learn that silence from Spirit doesn't necessarily mean disconnection. Sometimes you aren't being denied an answer – you may be being given the space to trust yourself, make your own decision, and remember that you are supported even when you can't consciously hear the guidance. Your intuition doesn't have to speak to you for you to be connected to it. ❤️ If you've been wondering "Have I lost my intuition?", "Why can't I hear Spirit?", or "Why am I not getting a sign?", this episode is a gentle reminder that you may be more supported – and more capable of trusting yourself – than you realize.   ✨ WORK WITH JENNIFER Book a psychic mediumship session: cal.com/spiritandthemedium Visit my website: www.spiritandthemedium.com To connect with other trusted psychic mediums and healers, check out Jennifer's teammates at www.themodernmedium.ca

028: Childhood Spiritual Trauma: How Fear Can Block Your Intuition and Psychic Abilities

Have childhood movies, TV shows, religion, or the beliefs you grew up with shaped the way you see spirituality, ghosts, psychic abilities, mediumship, tarot, or the supernatural? In this episode of Spirit and the Medium, we explore how the stories, experiences, and beliefs we absorbed as children can create fear around our own intuition and spiritual abilities – and how revisiting those experiences as adults can help us heal. I share my personal experience of rewatching movies that terrified me as a child, including The Watcher in the Woods, Return to Oz, and Child of Glass, and discovering where some of my early fears around seeing and hearing Spirit, mediumship, intuition, and psychic abilities were planted. We talk about childhood conditioning, inner child healing, nervous system responses, spiritual fear, psychic development, and the ways fear can cause us to unknowingly shut down our intuitive abilities. Sometimes what we think is a lack of intuition isn't a lack of ability at all – it may be a part of us that learned it wasn't safe to be sensitive, intuitive, or connected to Spirit. I'll also share a simple exercise: revisit something that scared you as a child and invite your wounded inner child to experience it with you. Instead of reliving the fear, you can meet that younger version of yourself with compassion and show them that they are safe now. This isn't about forcing yourself to revisit something that feels overwhelming. It's about gently becoming curious about the beliefs and fears that shaped your relationship with spirituality and your own abilities. If you're exploring spiritual awakening, intuition, psychic development, mediumship, inner child healing, or reconnecting with your spiritual abilities, this episode is for you. ✨ Your intuition may not have disappeared. ✨ Your sensitivity may not be something you need to fix. ✨ And the abilities you shut down to feel safe may still be waiting for you.
