When Delay Hardens the Heart | Acts 24:22–27 | Alex Sands

What happens when God makes the truth clear, but we keep postponing our response? In Acts 24:22–27, Felix hears Paul speak about faith in Christ, righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come. The message reaches him deeply enough to make him afraid, but instead of responding, he delays. That delay becomes the warning at the center of this message: truth resisted today hardens the heart tomorrow.  October 18, 2026 In this sermon, Pastor Alex Sands challenges us not to use delay as a way to avoid costly obedience. When God convicts us, the answer is not to silence that conviction or wait for a more convenient time. Conviction is mercy calling us to respond.  October 18, 2026  October 18, 2026 Sometimes God disturbs our peace because we have made peace with something He wants removed. And if we continually hear truth without obeying it, we can become dangerously comfortable with what should still move us.  October 18, 2026 This message is a call to stop postponing what God has already made clear, to respond while your heart is still tender, and to remember that obedience delayed can become obedience denied. If God is speaking, don’t keep saying “not now.” Give ’em Heaven. Play the Hand God Gave You | Acts 22:22–29 | Alex Sands

What if the question is not whether you like the hand you were dealt—but whether you will faithfully play it for the Kingdom of God? In Acts 22:22–29, Paul finds himself in a dangerous situation, but instead of wasting what God has placed in his hand, he recognizes the moment and uses his Roman citizenship wisely. His circumstances were not random, and neither are ours. God’s providence determines the hand we receive, but God’s Kingdom determines how we play it. In today’s message, we are challenged to stop comparing our lives to everyone else’s, to learn the people God has placed around us, and to recognize when it is time to use the opportunities, resources, relationships, and advantages He has given us. The Christian life is a lot like playing spades. You may not choose the cards in your hand, but you are still responsible for how you play them. And the good news is this: the Lord knows the whole deck. So stop wishing for someone else’s hand. Steward the one God gave you. Learn your partners. Know when to play your cards. And make sure you are not spending your life playing the wrong game. Now, let’s open God’s Word together in Acts 22:22–29. When Jesus Interrupts Your Story | Acts 21:37–40; 22:1–11 | Alex Sands

What if the most powerful part of your testimony isn’t what you came out of—but Who met you there? In Acts 21:37–40 and Acts 22:1–11, Paul stands before a hostile crowd and does something remarkable. He doesn’t try to win an argument. He builds a bridge, tells the truth about his past, and points everything back to Jesus. In today’s message, Pastor Alex Sands challenges us to remember that we are not called to simply prove people wrong—we are called to bear witness. Our story should never make much of our past, our pain, or even our transformation. It should make much of the grace of God. Paul’s testimony reminds us that saving faith does more than receive Jesus as Savior—it bows to Him as Lord. And sometimes the first work of grace is God showing us just how wrong we have been. You may not see the entire road ahead. Paul didn’t either. Faith does not require full visibility. It requires trust in the One giving the instruction. So wherever you are listening from, ask yourself the same question Paul asked when everything changed: “What shall I do, Lord?” Because the most important part of your story is not where you’ve been. It’s Jesus—Who has been at the center of it all. Now, here’s Pastor Alex Sands with today’s message from Acts 21:37–40 and Acts 22:1–11. This is the Kingdom Life Church Simpsonville Podcast. Give ’em Heaven.
