    #14: EFES SPECIAL

In this episode of Off the Page with Exeposé, Harry Morrison (Online Editor-in-Chief) sits down with two local celebrities: the EFES brothers. In just four years, the brothers have transformed their late-night kebab shop into a staple of Exeter’s student nightlife, becoming the go-to stop for students after a night out. During the episode, they discuss their rise to popularity, the role of the student community in their success, and what it’s really like running a busy takeaway in the heart of Exeter. From managing the shop behind the scenes to building a strong presence on social media, the brothers also share plenty of memorable and funny stories that come with running a “kebab empire.” Please note that the audio quality in this episode is not up to our usual standard. Due to an unforeseen technical issue, the original recording was lost, and the audio had to be recovered via a phone transfer, cutting the episode short.  This podcast aims to open up the conversation about student media. #12: Bringing News to Students – The Print News Team

In this episode of Off the Page, the focus is on student journalism and the news stories shaping campus. Harry Morrison (Online Editor-in-Chief), Alannah Driscoll (Podcast Host & Producer), and Print News Editors Isabella Brooks & Daisy Newbury come together to discuss reporting, student engagement, and the realities of working in a student newsroom.   The episode opens inside Exeposé, as the Print Team reflects on settling into their roles, navigating the pressures of print journalism in a digital-first media landscape, and the responsibility of reporting student voices. They explore how stories are chosen, what makes effective student news, and how print continues to adapt.   Attention then turns to reporting from the 778th edition of the paper, beginning with the UK’s decision to rejoin the Erasmus+ programme for 2027–28. The team unpack what Erasmus+ offers, what was lost after Brexit, and why the scheme’s limited return has raised questions about access, opportunity, and whether the move represents genuine change or political symbolism.   The episode closes with a discussion on the British Unity March and the “Unite Against the Far Right” counter-protest in Exeter, examining what happened on the day, why counter-protesters vastly outnumbered demonstrators, how political figures influence protest movements, and the challenges of covering politically sensitive events as student journalists.   This podcast aims to open up the conversation about student media.
