    Jacob and Sandor return for another episode of Office Talks After Hours, covering a wide range of topics that prove just how unpredictable an unscripted conversation can be. They discuss fantasy favorites like Harry Potter and The Chronicles of Narnia, parenting and childhood lessons, and how movies can influence the things kids say and do. The conversation then shifts to social media, online behavior and its potential consequences in the workplace, before exploring gambling, sports betting, and the dangers of chasing losses. Along the way, they share personal stories, debate the influence of entertainment, and reflect on how a conversation about wizards somehow ends up discussing wagers.

Now working at the same company, the two sit down for their first Office Talks After Hours conversation together. From nostalgic TV shows and horror movies to workplace stories, customer service, career changes, homebuilding, and upcoming travel plans, the conversation covers a little bit of everything. Along the way, they get into salad thieves, Olive Garden breadsticks, and the kind of random tangents that make you wonder how one topic led to another. It's an unscripted and unrehearsed conversation about work, life, and everything in between — just like the conversations you have with coworkers while at work… just after hours.

    Music, Resignations, & Mispronunciations

    In Episode 28, Jacob sits down with his good friend and co-host, Sandor, for another completely unscripted conversation. They start with music and childhood memories, talking about Green Day, old CDs, hidden tracks, '90s and 2000s music, and a cappella.  From there, the conversation turns toward work, including unexpected departures, managing employees, workplace friendships, and what happens when people suddenly leave.  Jacob and Sandor also talk about being introverts, making friends online, generational differences,  and the true translation of Sandor’s name. As always, the conversation eventually takes a few unexpected turns along the way.

    Family, Funerals, & Food

    In this episode of Office Talks After Hours, Jacob sits down again with his longtime friend Jesse for a conversation that starts with parenting, kids, and the unexpected ways children end up sleeping in their parents’ beds. From there, the conversation takes a more serious turn as they talk about grandparents, losing loved ones, grief, funerals, and the different ways people process death. They also share stories about family, sports brackets, and the challenges of keeping up with everyday life as parents. And eventually, things take a much lighter turn with a deep dive into pizza, Chef Boyardee, hot dogs, Spam, steak, and the age-old question: is a hot dog a sandwich? It’s a conversation that covers family, funerals, food, and plenty of unexpected stops in between.

    Family, Fatherhood & Fecal Matter

    In this episode of Office Talks After Hours, Jacob and his cohost start with a conversation about COVID, facial hair, and the ever-important question of where exactly does the phrase “the fuzz.” come from? From there, the conversation takes a more personal turn as they talk about blended families, parenting, and the people who have shaped their lives—including the role Jacob’s parents have played in his own life. And, naturally, the conversation eventually takes a hard left into football, comedy, and a surprisingly detailed discussion involving fecal matter. It’s another completely unscripted conversation that manages to go from meaningful to ridiculous in typical OTAH fashion.

    Life, Lasso, & Lizards

    In this episode of Office Talks After Hours, Jacob sits down with his good friend Megan for a conversation that covers a little bit of everything. They talk about getting older, Jacob’s health issues, Megan’s marathon running, his kids and a very last-minute birthday party, growing up and their school days, weddings, movies and TV, and even the possibility of time travel. Things get increasingly ridiculous toward the end when they discuss what happens when you’re home alone, leading to an unexpected encounter with a lizard and the creation of what is now officially known as “the lizard room.” Somehow, that becomes part of the conversation—and neither of them seems quite sure how they got there.

    Groin, Dodgeball, & NIL

    In Episode 24 of Office Talks After Hours, Jacob is joined by Sandor for another completely unscripted conversation that jumps between sports, childhood memories, parenting, and the changing world of college athletics. The conversation starts with high school football, including Sandor’s son’s recent experience on the field and one of Jacob’s own memorable—and not particularly successful—football stories. From there, the two revisit some childhood experiences, including Sandor’s competitive history as a soccer goalkeeper and a church-camp dodgeball story that proves he may have taken the game a little too seriously. That leads into Jacob sharing stories about his son’s experiences in PE and the challenges and victories that can come with getting involved in school activities. The conversation eventually turns toward the current state of college sports, with Jacob and Sandor discussing NIL, the transfer portal, player loyalty, coaching, and how dramatically college athletics has changed. As always, the conversation is unrehearsed, the topics are unpredictable, and there’s plenty of room for opinions, stories, and a few laughs along the way.

    From Leftover Clips to Good Stories

    This week on Office Talks After Hours, Jacob takes a slightly different approach. With a new recording sidelined by illness, he goes back through a previous conversation with Zade and pulls out several clips that didn’t make the original episode cuts. The conversations cover everything from getting older and realizing the music and celebrities they grew up with have changed, to social media, karaoke, and some of the ridiculous stories that come with growing up together. Jacob and Zade also revisit how they first met, talk about helping strangers who ask for money, and dive into their relationships, dating experiences, and what ultimately made their marriages work. One conversation gets particularly personal as Zade shares the story of reconnecting with Alex, nearly backing out of their first date, and realizing she was the person he was meant to marry. Jacob also shares his own experience of finding his wife through a dating app. And, of course, there’s the story of Zade asking Alex’s father for permission to marry her while the two of them were literally out shooting guns. These are extended conversations that were originally left on the cutting-room floor, so this episode may sound a little different from the usual format. There may even be a familiar story or two that slipped through, but these are conversations Jacob believes haven’t been featured in previous episodes. There’s a slight chance one or two are repeats, but hey, what can you do? Sometimes the stuff that gets cut is worth hearing after all.
