Every episode tackles the questions parents and coaches are actually asking: How young is too young to start serious training? When do you spot real toughness, “if they bite as a pup, they’ll maul as a wolf”? What separates the freaks of nature from the playmakers? How do CIF transfer rules really work, and how do families avoid losing 1–2 years of eligibility? What’s the difference between back-in-the-day ball (Lancaster Jets, Santa Clarita Vikings era) and today’s social-media pressure era? How does social media affect young athletes’ mental health, focus, and self-esteem, and what boundaries actually work? Jay and Kev bring decades of on-field experience, coaching stories, and fatherhood perspective. You’ll hear unfiltered takes on overtraining, burnout, toxic environments, mindset shifts, growth vs. fixed mentality, balancing school/sports/life, and why the scoreboard isn’t the only measure of success.
