Episode 9: Degrees of Separation (or the lack thereof!) in Ireland

They say everyone on the planet is connected to each other by 6 or less connections... 🔗🔗 Does the same apply for Ireland? Or is it more like 2 connections and does that mean we're all 1 degree away from Bono?! 😮☘️ In this episode we chat about how life in Ireland can feel like everyone knows everyone, and how sometimes this is the loveliest thing and other times leads to err...awkward situations! 😬 We tell stories about eavesdropping on our favourite Dublin Bus route, bumping into some beloved politicians and much more! 😍 Do you think Leo Varadkar could be our cousin? Is your aunty/ bestie/cousin somehow connected to us? Let us know! Reach out to us on our socials and tell us what you think: @herenortherepod on TikTok, Instagram or Youtube! Episode 8: More of our favourite Irish-isms: Have we copped on yet?!

Think you knew all the Irish phrases? Hold our tea ☕ When we did Part 1 of Irish-isms, we realised we're going down a much bigger rabbit hole than we thought... so part 2 just dropped with more slang and slagging! So have a listen and let us know: have we copped on yet?! Also, please send this to someone who needs to stop saying "top o’ the morning" 🙈 Don't put listening to this episode on the long finger, and have a think about any other slang we missed in this episode 😉 And reach out to us on our socials and let us know: @herenortherepod on TikTok, Instagram or Youtube! Episode 7: Visas, VFS and V(W)eak passports: every immigrant's nightmare

Ah.. our favourite topic! ✨ The way to identify immigrants at any gathering, is to find the group that's huddled together complaining about visas.. This episode, is that huddle - where we talk/vent/rant about all things Irish visas related, starting with student visas, work permits, all the stamps... and everyone's favourite (un)friendly neighbourhood VFS... 😬 Join us as we talk about the different hoops we jumped through to get here.. and our secret recipe for a successful Schengen visa appointment (spoiler alert: it involves a blood moon!) 🌕 Let us know what you think of this episode, our socials are @herenortherepod on Instagram, Tiktok and Youtube! Episode 6: Building a community and upper body strength: growing roots in Dublin

What does it take to set up life, almost from scratch, as an immigrant in a new city/country? What are some of the fun things we've done to try to find like-minded people, places and activities that fill our cup everyday? In this episode, we talk about all the activities, classes and ways we tried to build our sense of community here in Dublin, Ireland, and yet again raise the ever important question of whether we have enough upper body strength... Hopefully, listening to this sparks some more ideas and ways to explore this lovely city and all it has to offer! ✨ Let us know what you think of this episode, our socials are @herenortherepod! Episode 5: Dual identities, nostalgia and Shah Rukh Khan: diving into the realities of immigrant life

How do we navigate those hard days and weeks? What keeps us going and at what point does Shah Rukh Khan get involved? We dive straight into the un-sexy realities of being an immigrant in episode 5. Do we find our answers to being neither "here nor there"? Listen and find out!

Episode 4: Searching for Sunshine: our favourite travel (mis) adventures

A lot of what makes Ireland home has to do with how many adventures (and misadventures) we’ve had in parts of the country that aren’t Dublin! Ending up in Ireland’s sunny southeast for 0 hours of sunshine, visiting what seems like the one and only happening pub in Doolin, chasing myths about finding love in Lisdoonvarna and learning about what it means to be Mary from Dungloe…. All this and more in episode 4! ✨
