Serve Your Clients First: Lessons from a Banker and a Builder Turned Business Owners

I welcomed Claritza and Roy, the husband and wife owners of CRP Properties LLC, to Revenue from Retention. Their company focuses on home improvement, cleaning, and property care across South Jersey, and I have a big heart for what they are building. Claritza shared how it all began, with a decision to open an LLC, a stack of flyers handed out around the neighborhood, and word of mouth referrals that filled their schedule in a matter of months. She brought her background as a banking specialist and author, and Roy brought more than twenty years of experience in construction and cleaning. Together they covered a lot of ground. We talked about why they love helping people, how they avoid burnout by protecting one day a week as family day, and why faith is the foundation of their business. Claritza opened up about being let go from her day job through no fault of her own, and how that moment pushed them to take the risk of starting their own company. I shared my own story of getting fired from a bartending job, and we talked about how those moments can end up shaping the kind of leader you become. Claritza also told us about her memoir, Blossoming to Radiance, and we explored why serving clients well and bringing real energy to your work changes how people experience your business. Roy closed us out with a simple challenge for anyone on the fence: cross the line, because you have nothing to lose. ⭐️CONNECT WITH Claritza & Roy ON SOCIAL MEDIA ⭐️ ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: @crppropertiesllc ▶︎ EMAIL: peralta.claritza@gmail.com ▶︎ WEBSITE: http://crppropertiesllc.com 🔹🔹CONNECT WITH CELINA ON SOCIAL MEDIA🔹🔹 ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: celina_glennon ▶︎ FACEBOOK: Celina Glennon ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Celina Glennon ▶︎ YOUTUBE: @CelinaGlennon Join us at https://www.celinaeklund.com/ for premium content - Enjoy! From Oracle to a Liquor Store: What 30 Years in Sales Taught Dr. Tom Tonkin About Staying Human

Today’s conversation is about something I think we can all lose sight of when we get really focused on success: staying human. My guest today spent 20 years at Oracle and has more than 30 years in sales, but the story I want to talk about today has very little to do with titles, revenue, or deal size. A few years ago, Tom Tonkin made a pretty unusual decision. He started working weekends at a family owned liquor store in Colorado. Minimum wage. Mopping floors. Wearing a name badge. And he did it intentionally, because he wanted to make sure success never turned him into someone who forgot what it felt like to simply be a person. And what happened behind that counter gave him some of the most meaningful lessons of his career. Stories about people who were struggling, people who were celebrating, people who just needed to feel seen and respected. And those everyday interactions became the foundation for his work around relationships, leadership, and what actually makes people come back. So today, we're going to talk about humility, human connection, sales, leadership, and why the experiences we create for people can matter far more than the transaction itself. ⭐️CONNECT WITH TOM ON SOCIAL MEDIA ⭐️ ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: @drtomtonkin ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Tom Tonkin, Ph.D. ▶︎ EMAIL: drtom@drtomtonkin.com ▶︎ WEBSITE: https://thetonkingroup.co https://sincereconnectionsbook.com | https://tomtonkinphd.com/ 🔹🔹CONNECT WITH CELINA ON SOCIAL MEDIA🔹🔹 ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: celina_glennon ▶︎ FACEBOOK: Celina Glennon ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Celina Glennon ▶︎ YOUTUBE: @CelinaGlennon Join us at https://www.celinaeklund.com/ for premium content - Enjoy! I Walked Away from My 6 Figure Corporte Job 1 Year Ago

What if the life you built isn't the life you're meant to stay in? In this episode of Revenue from Retention, I sat down with Giselle, the woman behind Corporate to Freedom, to talk about what it really looked like to leave a six figure salary and bet on herself. After 25 years in marketing and advertising, Giselle lost her joy. A hard season at work, including a cost cutting strategy called forced attrition, made her take a long look at the environment she was in. She prayed, talked with her husband, and walked away without a plan, even though she is a planner at heart. We talked about choosing peace over money, how Covid changed the way people earn, and how to tell the difference between boredom and a true sign that it's time for something new. Giselle also shared lessons from Disney, her early entrepreneurial ventures, her time with Mary Kay and the power of community, and what it took to go from behind the scenes to creating content in front of a camera. We talked about why relatable beats perfect, why you should never delete your early posts, and a simple act of kindness that reminded us what really matters. If you feel like you're right on the edge of a big move, this conversation is for you. You're not stuck, you're never too late, and time is your most precious resource. ⭐️CONNECT WITH ON SOCIAL MEDIA ⭐️ ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: @corporatetofreedom8 ▶︎ EMAIL: gisellebutler8@gmail.com ▶︎ WEBSITE: https://allen.store/freedommindset 🔹🔹CONNECT WITH CELINA ON SOCIAL MEDIA🔹🔹 ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: celina_glennon ▶︎ FACEBOOK: Celina Glennon ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Celina Glennon ▶︎ YOUTUBE: @CelinaGlennon Join us at https://www.celinaeklund.com/ for premium content - Enjoy! My Obsession for Solving Big Problems

Some people build companies the way other people breathe, and Elliot Manson is one of them. In this episode of Revenue from Retention, I sat down with him to talk about what it really takes to turn an idea into something real, and why so many of us get stuck long before we start. Elliot shared how he approaches business by leading with numbers, because data has no opinions. He explained why his job has always been to be wrong nine times as quickly as possible so he can be right the tenth. We talked about the year he spent living on an island in Portugal, swimming in the ocean and building a business, and what living abroad teaches you about problem solving and ownership. We also got into the topic everyone has a take on right now: AI. Elliot gave an honest look at how it can sharpen a thoughtful thinker and make an average one look even more average, and how he uses it to find the best ideas instead of letting it do his thinking for him. He walked through the wins he is proudest of, including his work in AI hiring at Upwage and a fully autonomous weather trading platform he built for the pure fun of it. I shared my own lens on retention, the green, yellow, and red chart every client keeps in their head, and what Disney taught me about intentional experiences. We closed with Elliot's simplest advice: make decisions and take action. If you believe people are your greatest asset and relationships are your greatest investment, this conversation is for you. ⭐️CONNECT WITH ON SOCIAL MEDIA ⭐️ ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: @Elliotmanson_ ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Elliot Manson ▶︎ EMAIL: manson.elliot@gmail.com 🔹🔹CONNECT WITH CELINA ON SOCIAL MEDIA🔹🔹 ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: celina_glennon ▶︎ FACEBOOK: Celina Glennon ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Celina Glennon ▶︎ YOUTUBE: @CelinaGlennon Join us at https://www.celinaeklund.com/ for premium content - Enjoy! ELLIOTT ARMY SERIES: How To Hear God

I sat down with Jesse Cloud, a sales leader within the Elliott Army, for an honest conversation about faith, purpose, and what it really takes to build people instead of just numbers. Jesse shared what changed his whole perspective: watching new teammates work incredibly hard without winning, and realizing he could help them. That moment pulled him out of the "lead by example and do my own thing" mindset and sent him searching for a process that could work across an entire company. He walked me through how the training his team built has since helped people put up the best numbers of their careers. We also went to some vulnerable places. Jesse told me about the season when his credit card was declined at a gas station, when a job he was doing purely for money left him feeling empty, and how a single week of selling something he truly believed in showed him what he was meant to be doing. He talked about learning to surrender, why he did not fully rest until recently, and how a program called Kingdom X shifted his relationship with faith. Along the way, Jesse explained why everyone needs a mentor with his briar patch analogy, how he uses time blocking and his phone notes as a replacement for journaling, and what he hopes to be known for when it is all said and done. He also spoke about the legacy he wants to build for his team and for the generations who come after them, and the advice he would give anyone who is afraid to take their dreams seriously. If you have ever felt the weight of an assignment you could not ignore, or wondered what it looks like to lead with your whole heart, this conversation is for you. ⭐️CONNECT WITH ON SOCIAL MEDIA ⭐️ ▶︎ INSTAGRAM:  ⁨@jesse_cloud9⁩  ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Jesse Cloud ▶︎ EMAIL: Jessecloud9@gmail.com 🔹🔹CONNECT WITH CELINA ON SOCIAL MEDIA🔹🔹 ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: celina_glennon ▶︎ FACEBOOK: Celina Glennon ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Celina Glennon ▶︎ YOUTUBE: @CelinaGlennon Join us at https://www.celinaeklund.com/ for premium content - Enjoy! Food Noise Ruled My Life Until One Hospital Visit Changed Everything

Social media can be fake, and you never know what someone is truly carrying underneath the highlight reel. Lidia Ferrer Sciacovelli let me in on hers. She opened up about living with food noise for over a decade, a constant internal static around eating that most people never talk about out loud. She walked me through the medical scare that became her turning point and the choice she made afterward to build something out of it. That choice became Please Health, her supplement company built on transparency instead of proprietary blends and quick fixes. We got into her belief that change is always good, even when it does not feel good, and why she thinks fear of regret matters more than fear of change. She talked about moving to a new country, rebuilding a company on her own terms, and learning to actually celebrate her wins instead of rushing past them. She also gave us a first look at her upcoming book, The Gold Flags of Heartbreak, which flips the whole heartbreak conversation from what someone else did wrong to what you walked away knowing about yourself. This one is honest, it is direct, and it is a reminder that you get to be the author of your own story no matter what chapter you are currently in. ⭐️CONNECT WITH LIDIA ON SOCIAL MEDIA ⭐️ ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: @lidiaferrers ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Lidia Ferrer Sciacovelli ▶︎ EMAIL: lidia.ferrer@plzhealth.com 🔹🔹CONNECT WITH CELINA ON SOCIAL MEDIA🔹🔹 ▶︎ INSTAGRAM: celina_glennon ▶︎ FACEBOOK: Celina Glennon ▶︎ LINKEDIN: Celina Glennon ▶︎ YOUTUBE: @CelinaGlennon Join us at https://www.celinaeklund.com/ for premium content - Enjoy!
