What do you wanna talk about? A sister chat with Nancy & Sarah

Nancy & Sarah

Hi! We are Nancy and Sarah, two sisters who love to chat, and we’re so excited to introduce our new podcast "What Do You Wanna Talk About?” - a casual conversation show where we catch up on what’s new in our lives and discuss anything and everything from personal growth to parenting to pop culture. At the end of each episode, we close with a “Beautiful Things” segment, where we each share something that brought us joy, hope, or inspiration. Because we can all use more of that in our lives, right? We’re excited to have you join us! Grab a coffee, pull up a chair, and let’s get talking. Follow us on social media! Spooky Books (Part 1) - Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix

It’s time for Spooktober book talk! 👻 In this two-part horror book review series, we’re kicking things off with Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix, with The Only Good Indians coming up in Part 2. We’ve got our spoiler and content warnings out of the way, and then we’re chatting about our spooky season reading and what we love (and maybe regret?) about horror before diving into a very haunted furniture store. Think IKEA, but make it demonic. We’re talking creepy overnight shifts, questionable seances, possessed coworkers, and furniture that is definitely not covered by the return policy. We unpack the characters, the store’s horrifying history, and the increasingly unhinged events that turn an ordinary night at Orsk into an absolute nightmare. And because apparently escaping a haunted workplace isn’t enough, there’s a corporate cover-up and an ending that leaves us wondering if anyone is really out of the woods. Grab your coziest blanket, maybe avoid furniture shopping for a bit, and come hang out with us for another spooky Sister Chat! 🖤 References from our episode:: Horrorstõr by Grady Hendrix: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Horrorstor/Grady-Hendrix/9781594745263The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Only-Good-Indians/Stephen-Graham-Jones/The-Only-Good-Indians/9781982136468Follow us on social media! Spooky Movie Review Part 2 - Weapons

We’re back for part two of our Spooktober horror movie series, and this time we’re diving into Weapons! We chat about the movie’s creepy themes, what made it so unsettling, and all the things that had us questioning what on earth was happening. Then we get into a VERY spoiler-filled recap of the whole story, unpacking the twists, the weirdness, and our general thoughts on how it all came together. Did Weapons deliver the scares? Did the story stick the landing? And how does it compare to The Mummy? We share our takes, our favorite (and not-so-favorite) parts, and all the things we’re still thinking about after watching. And because we can’t spend the entire episode talking about horrifying things, we wrap things up with our Beautiful Things recommendations—some little bright spots to balance out all the Spooktober nightmares. 👻 References from our episode:: Weapons available for streaming on HBOMazywood by Tananarive Due available at https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Mazywood/Tananarive-Due/9781668075142?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=24327808476&gbraid=0AAAAADv-uEm7y0BnIbVJeX8a0Px65ssg8&gclid=CjwKCAjwirLWBhBBEiwAlItbEsnB-kgWoBbLp6-4NMvB_LydApDfGbGkfoFjvEqDZDglxpJVsLEldhoCpg4QAvD_BwEHeavy Spoilers YouTube video explaining the ending: https://youtu.be/0QGTaA7nHPg?si=YoaEbRt9fOVDx2N5"Backrooms" Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_BackroomsFollow us on social media! Spooky Movie Review Part 1 - Lee Cronin's The Mummy

Spooky Movie Review - Lee Cronin’s The Mummy It’s Spooktober, and we’re making each other watch scary movies! We’re kicking off a two-part horror recap series with Lee Cronin’s The Mummy (and we’ll be back next Wednesday with Weapons). First, we chat about our evolving relationships with horror, what gets under our skin, and the things we do to survive a scary movie when we really can't look at the screen. Then it’s time to get into the VERY spoiler-filled details of The Mummy—curses, demonic possession, child abductions, mummified bodies, and an absolutely ridiculous amount of gore. We follow Katie’s horrifying journey from missing child to possessed nightmare, as things spiral into paranormal chaos in Albuquerque before the whole mess comes full circle in Egypt. Did we love it? Did we hate it? Are we ever going to emotionally recover from some of those scenes? Our feelings are… mixed. Come for the spooky season vibes, stay for the plot frustrations and the question of whether a horror movie can, in fact, have too much grossness. All Things Fall!

Fall is finally here! In this episode, after we briefly revisit some (not so soothing) developments on our AI discussion, we move away from heavier topics and catch up on what actually makes it feel like fall to us, from crisp weather and pumpkin everything to the eternal question of whether we’ll get a real sweater season. We dig into our fall favorites—Halloween decorating, HomeGoods and dollar-store finds, Bath & Body Works scents, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, costumes, football, and the fall traditions we’ve carried with us over the years. This one is just for the vibes :-) References from our episode: Jacob Coxon’s AI Extinction Warning:https://www.cnn.com/2026/09/17/tech/how-will-ai-exterminate-humanity-cechttps://www.theguardian.com/global/2026/sep/15/ai-doomsday-warning-jacob-coxon-anthropicAI Compaction Misalignment Stories - Open AI: https://alignment.openai.com/misalignment-reports/self-generated-prompt-injections-in-compaction-summaries/Dario Amodei Blog Post - “We Must Pace The Frontier”:https://darioamodei.com/post/we-must-pace-the-frontierTin Can:https://tincan.kids/?srsltid=AU7gw4XfWljC6qnze4N8PD7wS4NyNqyopitMJWRdz5tAVJ39DXYFW9j6Danny Go! Assemble the Coven! Witch Readings with Sister Jenny

We kick off Spooktober with our sister Jenny—actor, playwright, musician, and newly appointed arts & culture correspondent—for a very witchy episode! Jenny gives us seasonal “witch card” readings while we chat about modern witchcraft, tarot, manifestation, the Wheel of the Year, and why it’s not all about “devilry.” We compare our readings, talk about what resonated (and what maybe hit a little too close to home), and then wrap up with our beautiful things: Hobonichi planners and the perfect fall read, Cackle by Rachel Harrison. Should We Slow the Roll on AI?

In this episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About? we welcome our first-ever guest, Ernest (our Science and Technology Correspondent!), for a conversation about technology that seems to be changing everything: AI. We talk about what AI means for our jobs, the economy, healthcare, and education—and, naturally, spiral into some bigger questions: Can we actually control these systems? What happens when they get really good at breaking the rules? Are we anywhere close to AGI? We also get into the less sci-fi side of AI: data centers, privacy, and the uncomfortable reality that our data is part of the product. And we talk about what worries us most about the workforce—especially the possibility of eliminating entry-level jobs and, in the process, eliminating the very training ground people need to become experts. Finally, we wonder whether the AI revolution might eventually send us all running in the opposite direction, toward more analog schools, handwritten notes, and decidedly human ways of learning. The Hobbies & Side Quests of the Millennial Woman

We’re back from summer break! In the Season Two premiere of “What Do You Wanna Talk About?”, we catch up on our summer adventures and dive into our latest millennial obsessions.. Why are we suddenly all playing mahjong, gardening, painting, journaling, making sourdough, drinking mocktails, lifting weights, and obsessing over protein? We share our own hobby rabbit holes, from face painting and rainbow cakes to the joys and frustrations of learning to oil paint. Along the way, we explore how perfectionism, social-media comparison, and the pressure to monetize every hobby are the ultimate joy-killers, and why being “meh” at everything might actually mean we’re well-rounded. We wrap up with our beautiful-things picks and a quick preview of our fall Spooktober plans. We are so excited to be back!
