Shane Estillore: What Happened During His Deepest Meditation?

What happens when someone who has experienced prison, violence, financial success, and severe depression begins searching for something deeper? In Episode 5 of Anything & Everything with Matt Reyna, world-renowned tattoo artist Shane Estillore shares one of the most personal and extraordinary chapters of his life: his journey into meditation, spirituality, consciousness, and what he believes was a profound spiritual awakening. After reaching a point where depression and emotional turmoil were consuming his life, Shane knew something had to change. Despite achieving success and enjoying a lifestyle many people dream about, he was still struggling internally. Then he met a man named Thad in Miami. Through their friendship, Shane was introduced to meditation, breathwork, and new ways of thinking about personal healing. Initially skeptical, he began researching these ideas and eventually committed himself to intense meditation sessions. What happened next was an experience Shane says changed his understanding of life, God, consciousness, and the meaning of heaven. He describes feeling as though he had left his body, experiencing an overwhelming sense of peace, and encountering a mysterious figure who spoke to him during meditation. Matt and Shane explore manifestation, Joe Dispenza, the pineal gland, spirituality, biblical symbolism, and the idea that happiness and inner peace may be found in the present rather than some distant future. This episode is a deeply personal conversation about healing, questioning your beliefs, and moving from a life centered on survival to one focused on creation. 🎙️ In this episode: Matt's early experiences with manifestation and visualizationHow Matt used visualization while pursuing real estate and homeownershipShane's journey through severe depressionWhy financial success didn't resolve Shane's internal strugglesMeeting Thad, the friend who introduced him to meditationHow meditation became part of Shane's healing journeyShane's initial skepticism about breathwork and spiritualityLearning about Joe Dispenza and meditation practicesThe intense meditation experience Shane says changed his lifeHis description of an overwhelming sense of peaceThe mysterious encounter he experienced during meditationShane's personal interpretation of consciousness and the pineal glandConnections he draws between spirituality and biblical symbolismWhy Shane believes heaven can be experienced in the presentThe difference between living in survival mode and creation mode🧠 What you'll learn: How Shane describes the emotional turning point that led him to seek changeWhy outward success doesn't necessarily reflect someone's mental well-beingHow a meaningful friendship influenced Shane's personal journeyWhy Shane became interested in meditation and self-reflectionHow he interprets his unusual meditation experienceThe role of belief and visualization in Matt's personal storyWhy Shane began questioning his previous understanding of spiritualityHow he describes transitioning from survival to a more creative outlook on lifeWhy personal growth sometimes involves challenging long-held assumptions⏱️ CHAPTERS / TIMESTAMPS 00:00 When Did Shane Discover Manifestation? 00:11 Matt's Experience Manifesting His Real Estate Career 00:57 Belief, Visualization, and the Law of Attraction 01:51 Shane Explains His Healing Journey 02:38 The Depression That Nearly Consumed Him 03:21 Meeting Thad: The Friendship That Changed Everything 04:52 Shane's Introduction to Consciousness and Spirituality 05:21 Attending Meditation Sessions in Miami 07:02 Why Shane Was Initially Skeptical of Meditation 08:20 Discovering Joe Dispenza and Breathwork 09:00 Shane's Beliefs About the Pineal Gland 10:38 The Meditation Experience That Changed His Life 11:40 Feeling an Extraordinary Sense of Peace 12:15 The Mysterious Figure Shane Says He Encountered 13:20 How the Experience Changed His Perspective 14:10 Exploring Consciousness and Creation 15:41 Shane's Spiritual Interpretation of the Brain 16:57 Matt Questions the Connection Between God and the Mind 17:18 Why Shane Believes Struggles Give Life Meaning 17:45 Biblical Symbolism and Shane's Spiritual Beliefs 18:30 Finding Peace Instead of Chasing Material Success 19:10 From Survival Mode to Creation Mode 📢 About the Podcast Welcome to Anything & Everything with Matt Reyna, where real conversations meet real life. Rejected By The Tattoo Industry After Prison… Then San Antonio Changed His Life!

Nobody wanted to give him a chance after prison. So he created his own opportunity. In Episode 4 of Anything & Everything with Matt Reyna, world-renowned tattoo artist Shane Estillore shares how he went from being rejected by tattoo shops to developing his craft, finding success in San Antonio, and eventually working with celebrities and other high-profile clients. After spending years behind bars developing his tattooing skills, Shane expected his talent to open doors. Instead, he discovered that the tattoo industry wasn't eager to welcome someone with his background. But rather than give up, Shane studied, practiced, and poured everything he had into his work. He recalls one of his earliest tattoos after prison — a $100 portrait of a young Marlon Brando — and how that experience helped him realize what he was capable of achieving. Shane also reveals how an unexpected stop in San Antonio changed the trajectory of his career. What was supposed to be a visit on the way to Miami became an opportunity to build a name for himself. Matt and Shane discuss the importance of human connection, the relationships that shape us, the difference between financial success and personal fulfillment, and why Shane believes the person behind the tattoo machine is just as important as the artwork itself. The conversation also touches on Shane's experiences meeting rapper 6ix9ine, enjoying a successful lifestyle in Miami, and discovering that money and recognition weren't necessarily what made him happy. This is a conversation about creating opportunities, believing in yourself, staying grounded, and never forgetting where you came from. 🎙️ In this episode: Why Matt started recording meaningful conversations with friendsRemembering loved ones and preserving their storiesShane's perspective on human connectionThe relationships Shane builds with his tattoo clientsWhy tattoo shops rejected Shane after prisonHow he taught himself to adapt to professional tattoo equipmentThe $100 Marlon Brando tattoo that helped build his confidenceWhy Shane refused to wait for someone to give him an opportunityHow Shane unexpectedly ended up in San AntonioThe city that helped launch the next chapter of his careerHow his reputation spread through the tattoo communityWhy Shane believes personality matters as much as artistic talentMatt's experience recognizing Shane's tattoos around San AntonioShane's financial success and lifestyle in MiamiHis experience meeting rapper 6ix9ineWhy celebrity status and material possessions don't impress himThe importance of friendships, humility, and personal developmentBuilding an abundance mindset and believing in yourself🧠 What you'll learn: Why rejection doesn't have to determine your futureHow Shane created opportunities when traditional doors were closedWhy mastering your craft requires patience and dedicationHow treating every opportunity seriously can build your reputationWhy personal connections are important in business and lifeHow moving to a new environment can create unexpected opportunitiesWhy money and recognition aren't always the best measures of successHow maintaining meaningful friendships can keep you groundedThe difference between material wealth and an abundance mindsetWhy Shane believes personal growth starts with believing in your potential⏱️ CHAPTERS / TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Why Matt Started Recording Meaningful Conversations 00:23 Remembering Friends and Preserving Their Stories 02:07 Shane's Perspective on Human Connection 03:03 Connecting With People Through Tattooing 03:56 How Prison Changed Shane's Appreciation for People 05:04 Life After Prison and the Tattoo Industry 05:12 Why Tattoo Shops Rejected Shane 06:17 The $100 Tattoo That Helped Change Everything 06:35 Learning Professional Tattoo Techniques 08:17 Struggling to Find Success in Arizona 08:41 How Shane Ended Up in San Antonio 09:37 Matt Discovers Shane's Tattoo Work 10:01 Building a Reputation in San Antonio 11:51 Becoming a Recognized Tattoo Artist 12:52 What Does Success in Tattooing Really Mean? 13:22 Why Shane's Personality Helped His Career 14:11 The Importance of Lifelong Friendships 15:56 Why Relationships Matter More Than Money 16:17 Shane's Financial Success and Miami Lifestyle 16:58 Meeting Rapper 6ix9ine 17:45 Why Fame and Money Don't Impress Shane 18:29 Jim Rohn and the Power of Personal Development 18:48 Developing an Abundance Mindset 19:23 Believing in Yourself and Your Potential 📢 About the Podcast Welcome to Anything & Everything with Matt Reyna, where real conversations meet real life. Shane Estillore: From Maximum Security to Tattoo Success

After spending much of his youth in and out of prison, Shane Estillore faced a choice that would change his life forever: continue down a path that could lead to life behind bars or death in the streets, or walk away and discover what the world had to offer.
