When The Forcast Says Trouble

But what happens when the forecast isn't about the weather? What happens when the storm is your life? In this episode of Selah & Psalms, Jane Morin takes a look at the current storm affecting the West Coast and surrounding regions and uses it as a picture of something we all understand: sometimes trouble begins somewhere we never expected, travels farther than we imagined, and eventually reaches our own doorstep. We may not have caused the storm. We may not have seen it coming. And we certainly can't control where every gust of wind, drop of rain, or circumstance takes us. But Scripture teaches us that we can choose how we respond. What do we do when the forecast says trouble? Do we panic? Do we pretend we don't see it coming? Do we refresh the weather app every five minutes? (You know who you are.) Or do we prepare wisely, pray faithfully, and remember who is with us? From the disciples caught in a storm while Jesus was right there in the boat, to God's promise in Isaiah 43:2 that He will be with us when we pass through the waters, this episode explores what Scripture teaches about facing life's storms with faith rather than fear. Sometimes God calms the storm. Sometimes He calms us. And sometimes the storm teaches us things we could never have learned on a sunny day.
