There's some big news from Tasmania's Little Dog Island! And there's an expansion on the way for a NSW scheme that was designed to support green hydrogen - now it's also going to support another green gas. Also, there's great news on the clean energy front - especially on the deployment of big and small batteries. And we (belatedly) celebrate World Fish Migration Day! In this episode we also talk about Woolworths once again collecting soft plastics for recycling. And we look at some groundbreaking new Australian research studies - one on managing land to store carbon without harming farm production, another that examines the impacts that large Australian companies have on nature, and a third that looks at what we could do to help small businesses switch from gas to electricity. You can find links to the stories we cover in the Earthed newsletter. And stay tuned for our bonus episode - out in a few days - it's got the best bits of last week's Senate Estimates hearings - where politicians quiz environment officials about key policies and programs. Giving cattle a seaweed-derived 'garnish' to go with their grass can stop them burping so much - which really reduces the amount of methane that goes into the air. And that's a good thing, because methane is a potent climate polluting gas.  In this episode we talk about Australian government plans to better regulate the use of methane inhibitors, such as seaweed, so everyone is confident they will be used effectively and safely. We also chat about why we love Iberdrola's FAQ for its proposed Mullion Creek wind farm. (You can find the FAQ here). And we chat about some other exciting wind and solar farm announcements that will lead to a huge amount of new clean energy, as well as big financial benefits for the communities that host the projects.  We cover Queensland's plans to reform a key program that is designed to protect threatened species, but isn't working properly. And we get excited about the important things some NSW landowners are doing to protect native plants and animals. Plus, we've got some audio from a clip about a 'cool temperature' burn led by Traditional Owners on the NSW North Coast to help restore koala habitat. (Check out the video clip here). And there's plenty more!
