011 | 1979 Film: OG Street Fighter - THE WARRIORS

Street Fighter 2026? Pfft..fugedaboudit! In a very close escape from another '80s episode, we find ourselves looking at 1979 this week, and Walter Hill's cult gangland masterpiece, THE WARRIORS! It's full of pulpy comic book action and style, and had a rocky road to the screen, which we'll discuss alongside on-set rivalries, release day controversies and how the film inspired our own work in Wired Weird's cheesy homage to late '70s/early '80s action flicks, Rapture: Nimbus Reborn. YEAR OF THE WEEK 1979 FILM OF THE WEEK The Warriors - dir. Walter Hill NEXT WEEK we will be discussing Pink Floyd's THE WALL as our album of 1979, so subscribe to catch that!
