Everything Is NOT a Sign From God! | Episode 30

Everything Is NOT a Sign From God! | The Spiritual Realest Was that really a sign from God, or was it just the consequence of your own actions? Baby, we need to talk! Somewhere along our spiritual journeys, we've gotten so caught up in looking for signs, synchronicities, angel numbers, and messages from the universe that we've forgotten something important: Sometimes life is just LIFE! Your car battery died because you left the lights on. You lost your job because you kept showing up late. And not every unexpected situation is a divine message telling you to change direction. In this episode of The Spiritual Realest, I'm challenging the way we interpret spiritual signs and asking us to take a closer look at the relationship between intuition, free will, personal responsibility, and the natural consequences of being human. Because while I believe everything happens for a reason, I don't believe everything that happens is a spiritual sign. And there's a difference! We're also exploring bergamot, its traditional spiritual associations with self-empowerment, abundance, emotional clarity, and personal authority, and why understanding your own free will is an important part of your spiritual journey. IN THIS EPISODE, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT: ✨ Why everything that happens isn't necessarily a spiritual sign ✨ The difference between divine guidance and natural consequences ✨ How overanalyzing signs can interfere with everyday decision-making ✨ Understanding intuition without abandoning common sense ✨ Why consequences aren't always punishments and rewards aren't always blessings ✨ The spiritual symbolism of bergamot, personal empowerment, and free will ✨ Finding balance between your spiritual awareness and your human experience ✨ Why mind, body, soul, and spirit all deserve your attention Here's what I want you to understand: You cannot be so spiritually focused that you forget you're having a human experience. We have responsibilities. We make choices. We experience consequences. And sometimes the things happening around us aren't messages from our ancestors, God, or the universe. They're simply the natural results of how life works. That doesn't make your spirituality any less meaningful. It means learning to recognize when to trust your intuition, when to use your common sense, and when to take responsibility for your own decisions. Because being spiritually aware should help you navigate life, not disconnect you from reality. Heavenly minded, but always earthly good. I Forgive You, But You Can’t Come Back | Episode 29

Who told you that forgiving somebody means you have to let them back into your life? We've been taught to forgive 70 times 7, turn the other cheek, and be the bigger person. But at what point does forgiveness become permission for somebody to keep hurting you? In this episode of The Spiritual Realest, I'm challenging the way we've been conditioned to understand forgiveness, especially when religious teachings make us feel obligated to maintain relationships with people who have repeatedly caused us harm. Because here's the truth: You can forgive somebody and still revoke their access to you. We're talking about the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation, how people take advantage of kindness, and why setting boundaries doesn't make you bitter, unforgiving, or any less spiritual. I'm also getting into Hoodoo rootwork, exploring the traditional spiritual uses of coriander and hawthorn as symbols of reconciliation, protection, and healthy boundaries. And we're asking an uncomfortable question: If God has boundaries, why have we been taught that having our own makes us wrong? Sometimes forgiveness means rebuilding a relationship. Other times, it means loving somebody from a distance and never opening that door again. In this episode: Why forgiveness doesn't require reconciliationThe problem with how we've been taught to forgive 70 times 7When kindness becomes an invitation for mistreatmentHow boundaries protect your emotional and spiritual well-beingCoriander, hawthorn, and their symbolism in Hoodoo rootworkWhy protecting your peace is part of spiritual growthYou don't have to hate somebody to decide they no longer belong in your life. Forgiveness is a must. Access is not. I'm Scarlett Draught, heavenly minded but earthly good. Woke Doesn't Mean Aware | Episode 28

Just because you woke up doesn't mean you're aware. In this episode of The Spiritual Realest, Scarlett Draught is calling out something the spiritual community doesn't talk about enough: the difference between spiritual awakening and true awareness. You can leave religion behind and still carry the same judgment, fear, prejudice, and need to control others into your spiritual practice. You can know all the rituals, follow all the spiritual influencers, and claim to be enlightened while still repeating the very patterns you thought you escaped. So what was the point of waking up if you're still not thinking for yourself? Scarlett gets into spiritual bullying, blindly following trends, practicing rituals without understanding their purpose, and why your spiritual journey was never meant to look like somebody else's. This conversation challenges you to stop confusing spiritual knowledge with spiritual growth. Because being spiritually aware isn't about how much you know, what you practice, or who you follow. It's about how you live, how you treat people, and what you do with what you've learned. Being woke is recognizing what's wrong. Being aware is understanding what you're going to do differently. Are you actually growing, or have you just traded one set of beliefs for another? 🎧 Listen to The Spiritual Realest and continue your journey beyond the episode. The Church is a Coven - Episode 27

What if I told you the church is a coven too? Before you get offended, hear me out! In this episode of The Spiritual Realest, Scarlett Draught is challenging the double standards surrounding religion, spirituality, and the rituals we practice. From communion and anointing oils to candle lighting, speaking in tongues, ancestral practices, and tarot readings, we're talking about why certain spiritual traditions are considered holy while others are labeled demonic. If the church can gather in community, perform rituals, call on spiritual forces, and honor sacred traditions, why is it wrong when someone outside organized religion does the same? This isn't about attacking the church or telling anyone how to worship. It's about questioning the judgment, fear, and religious conditioning that have caused so many people to reject spiritual practices they don't understand. Scarlett also shares the spiritual significance of Copal and its use in energetic cleansing, protection, and ancestral connection. Your spiritual path doesn't have to look like somebody else's to be valid. Is Jesus the Only Way? | Episode 25

This episode was never supposed to be an episode. What started as an impromptu, off-the-cuff conversation between Scarlett Draught and someone off mic turned into one of the most honest spiritual conversations on The Spiritual Realist. Because the conversation was not originally intended for the podcast, you will hear Scarlett clearly, while the other person is off mic. The audio is less polished than a traditional episode, but the conversation was too real not to share. In Is Jesus the Only Way?, Scarlett and her conversation partner wrestle with Christianity, spirituality, salvation, heaven, hell, reincarnation, faith, and the fear of being wrong. They ask the questions people are often taught not to ask: Can someone be a genuinely good person and still be condemned because they do not believe in Jesus? Does prayer have to go through Jesus to reach God? Is salvation about belief, behavior, grace, or something deeper? And how much of what we believe is rooted in faith — versus fear of choosing the wrong path? The conversation also moves into reincarnation, spiritual evolution, the afterlife, and why unfamiliar spiritual practices are so quickly labeled evil. This is not a formal debate, and it was never meant to be. It is two people with different spiritual perspectives talking honestly, challenging one another, checking one another, and trying to better understand what they believe and why. Sometimes the conversations we never planned are the ones we most need to hear. Is Jesus the only way? The Spiritual Realist with Scarlett Draught — heavenly minded, but earthly good. Deities | Episode 24

Connect with us at thespiritualrealest.com In this episode of The Spiritual Realest, Scarlett Drow continues the conversation about spiritual practice by exploring tobacco, deities, Orishas, and the importance of understanding what you are working with before you step deeper into a tradition. Scarlett shares how tobacco can be used in spiritual practice as an offering, a way to hold prayer and intention, support ritual focus, and create a connection between the spiritual and physical. From there, she opens a larger conversation about Orishas, including Agayu, Oshun, Oya, Shango, Eshu, and others, and discusses how African spiritual traditions were preserved through associations with Catholic saints. She also challenges the idea of choosing a deity simply because you identify with its most attractive qualities. Every Orisha carries duality, and true understanding requires more than social media research or picking the characteristics you like. Most importantly, Scarlett encourages anyone interested in these traditions to seek knowledge, credible spiritual guidance, and a trustworthy house before allowing anyone to initiate, guide, or perform spiritual work for them. Get understanding. Get wisdom. Get knowledge. And know what you're getting into before you get into it.
