The body often knows what the mind has not yet learned to name. In this episode of The Sigma Femme Podcast, I’m joined by licensed mental health therapist, intuitive spiritual coach and A Course in Miracles teacher Kel Lash for a conversation about embodiment, forgiveness and the wisdom available when we begin listening to the body instead of overriding it. Kel shares how discovering somatic therapy transformed both her personal healing and clinical practice, shifting her understanding of trauma, boundaries and emotional regulation. Rather than treating healing as something that happens primarily through insight, she explores how the body communicates through sensation, emotion and nervous system responses that often emerge before the mind has formed a story. Together, we discuss co-regulation, consent, platonic touch, community and the importance of relationships that allow us to feel safe enough to become fully ourselves. We also explore emotional sovereignty, self-forgiveness and why curiosity may be one of the most powerful pathways to compassion. Toward the end of the conversation, we examine the cultural conditioning that teaches us to disconnect from our bodies in the name of productivity, perfection and performance. Kel offers another possibility: reconnecting body, mind and spirit so that healing becomes less about fixing ourselves and more about remembering how to listen.
