Real faith for an ordinary Tuesday.Known & Becoming is a Scripture-centered podcast for women who want to know God more deeply and live their faith in the middle of ordinary life. Each month, we gather around one Anchor Word and explore what Scripture says about it—bringing our Bibles, our journals, our questions, and the real lives we’re living with us. Together, we’ll learn to recognize God’s faithfulness, grow in spiritual maturity, and take simple steps toward becoming who He created us to be. I’m Jenny Wendel—a writer, artist, former educator and school counselor, wife, mama of six in a blended family, and a woman still becoming right alongside you. My work is rooted in paying attention—to God, to people, to ordinary life, and to who we’re becoming. New episodes every Tuesday. Pull up a chair. There’s a seat at the table for you. To be known. To notice. To become.

Who Are You Walking Past? Is Your Life Interruptible?

What if being available to God isn’t only about what He wants to do in our lives, but also about what He wants to do through our lives? Throughout the New Testament, we are called to pray for one another, encourage one another, carry one another’s burdens, and serve one another in love. But how often do we become so occupied with our own schedules, responsibilities, and plans that we overlook the people God has placed right in front of us? In this week’s episode of Known & Becoming, we’re gathering at The Table to explore what it means to make ourselves available in the lives of others. Through the Parable of the Good Samaritan, we’ll consider the difference between simply recognizing someone’s need and being willing to respond to it. Availability doesn’t always require a grand gesture. Sometimes it looks like a prayer, an encouraging word, a listening ear, or the willingness to interrupt our plans to show someone the love of Christ. Scriptures referenced: Luke 10:25–37Philippians 2:3–4Hebrews 3:13A question to carry with you this week: Have I become so occupied with the life God has given me that I’ve stopped noticing the people He has placed in it? Because sometimes being available to God means being available to someone else. Week Three | Available Real faith for an ordinary Tuesday. What Is Keeping You From Being Available to God?

What if the greatest obstacle to being available to God isn’t something we’re doing wrong, but simply everything else we’re doing? Our days are filled with responsibilities, commitments, distractions, and plans. Even the good things in our lives can occupy so much of our attention that we miss opportunities God places right in front of us. In this week’s episode of Known & Becoming, we’re exploring the difference between busyness and distraction, our desire to control our schedules, and the importance of becoming spiritually attentive to God’s presence in everyday life. Through Elijah’s encounter with God in 1 Kings 19 and the wisdom of Proverbs 16:9, we’ll consider what it means to make room for God’s purposes instead of simply asking Him to bless the plans we’ve already made. In this episode: How busyness and distraction affect our spiritual attentivenessWhy God’s purposes aren’t always revealed through extraordinary momentsHow our desire for control can limit our availabilityRecognizing opportunities to love and serve othersPractical ways to become more attentive to God throughout the dayThis week’s reflection: Am I so focused on accomplishing my agenda that I’m overlooking God’s purposes? You don’t have to accomplish something extraordinary to be available to an extraordinary God. Sometimes you simply need to notice what’s right in front of you. When God Asks You to Move Before You Understand | FAITH

What if God asks you to obey before He tells you how it's going to turn out? Maybe it isn't something enormous. Maybe you're standing at the kitchen sink when you feel that familiar prompting again: Call her. You know the next step. You just don't know why it matters, what you're going to say, or what happens after you obey. In this week's episode of Known & Becoming, we continue our September study of FAITH in Hebrews 11 with Noah—a man Scripture says was “warned about what was not yet seen” and responded by building an ark. Noah didn't have the benefit of standing on the other side of the story like we do. He couldn't see the flood yet. God gave Noah a word—not a weather report. Together, we'll look at Hebrews 11:7 and Genesis 6 and ask what Noah's obedience reveals about our own hesitation to trust God when we don't have the full picture. Because faith isn't revealed only by what we say we believe. Faith becomes visible through the way that we live. Anchor Scripture: Hebrews 11:7 Reflection Question: Have I ever obeyed God without knowing where it led? This week, consider the thing God has already made clear. Are you waiting for understanding—or are you willing to pick up the hammer and take the next faithful step? Known & Becoming Fully Known by God. Deeply Loved. Still Becoming. The Distance Between What God Said and What You See | FAITH

What happens to your faith when you've prayed, waited, trusted—and the answer isn't the one you hoped for? Welcome to Season Two of Known & Becoming and the beginning of Here I Am, a four-month journey through FAITH, AVAILABLE, OBEDIENCE, and FRUITFUL. In September, we begin with FAITH and Hebrews chapter 11. In this episode, we're anchoring ourselves in Hebrews 11:1 and 11:6 to ask two foundational questions: What does God say faith actually is? And why is it impossible to please Him without it? We'll talk about the difference between trusting God and trusting Him for a particular outcome, what faith looks like when we cannot see what God is doing, and why our circumstances cannot become the report card by which we grade God's faithfulness. Because faith isn't knowing exactly how the story will turn out. Faith lives in the distance between what God has said and what our eyes can currently see. Anchor Scriptures: Hebrews 11:1, 6 Carry this question with you this week: Where in my life do I need to believe that God is God—and trust Him enough to diligently seek Him even when His answer may not look the way I expected? This is the first of four September episodes exploring FAITH through Hebrews 11. Known & Becoming Fully Known by God. Deeply Loved. Still Becoming.
