As If We Know

Cath and Alvio

Part aperitivo, part group therapy 🎤🍸 We’re born into invisible blueprints. Quiet assumptions about how life should look and unfold. Most of us follow them without question… until something starts to shift. Because the world is shifting too. Old systems no longer quite fit, and new ways of living haven’t fully taken shape. It can feel uncertain, and full of possibility. This podcast is where we slow down and talk about it. Exploring how we work, love, connect, and create meaning to create new paths forward that work for us.

As If We Know about AGEING

What if everything you've been told about aging is wrong? We've been handed a blueprint we never asked for: be productive and relevant in your 20s and 30s, hit the milestones on schedule, and then quietly start fading out. Fight the wrinkles, freeze the clock, and whatever you do, don't admit that you're getting older. But who actually wrote that blueprint? And why are we all following it?In this episode of As If We Know, we get honest about where we are with aging, turning 39, sitting firmly in midlife, and deciding to stop raw-dogging life by accident. We dig into why so many of us are terrified of getting older, what's actually behind the multi-billion dollar anti-aging industry (spoiler: it's fear, and someone is making a lot of money off it), and why fighting aging so hard might mean you never get to meet the best versions of yourself. We also get into the invisible deadlines we carry (those unnamed ages by which we think we need to have figured it all out) and why those deadlines are completely made up. We talk about what people who age well actually have in common (it's not the skincare routine). And we make a case for intergenerational connection as something modern life has quietly dismantled, and urgently needs back. This one is for anyone standing at a crossroads of decades and wondering what the second half is supposed to look like. Spoiler: it can look like whatever you want.In this episode:— The current blueprint for aging, and why it's broken— The anti-aging industry and who profits off your fear— "Invisible deadlines" — the ages we think we need to have it all figured out by— Why fighting aging means you never get to meet your future self— What people who age well actually have in common— The case for intergenerational friendship (and why we're planning a mixer)— Deathbed regrets, purpose, and what actually makes a life feel worth living🎙️ As If We Know a podcast hosted by Cath and Alvio. 📍 Find us on Instagram @asifweknowpodcast🎧 Listen on Spotify & Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen your podcasts. ▶️ Subscribe on YouTube so you never miss an episode

As If We Know about CREATIVITY

Creativity is often treated like a gift reserved for a talented few. Artists. Musicians. Designers. The "creative people." But what if that's one of the biggest myths we've inherited? In this episode of As If We Know, we unpack the blueprint of creativity and explore how many of us learned to disconnect from our creative instincts long before adulthood. From childhood experiences and school systems to perfectionism, comparison, and the fear of judgment, we examine the invisible forces that convince us we're "not creative enough." We discuss why creativity isn't just about making art, but about self-expression, problem-solving, curiosity, courage, and our ability to imagine new possibilities. We explore the discomfort of creating before you're good at something, the trap of waiting for inspiration, and why originality often emerges through action rather than perfection. Along the way, we reflect on the voices that silence us, the systems that reward conformity, and the possibility that creativity is not something we have to earn—but something we can reclaim. Whether you've always considered yourself creative or have spent years believing you're not, this conversation is an invitation to question that story. Because maybe creativity was never reserved for a select few. Maybe it's part of being human. 🎙️ In this episode: • Why so many people believe they're "not creative" • How childhood experiences shape our creative confidence • The connection between creativity, vulnerability, and self-expression • Why perfectionism, comparison, and fear keep us stuck • The myth of waiting for inspiration • Creativity as a practice rather than a talent • How modern systems can flatten originality • What becomes possible when we reclaim our creative instincts If this episode resonates with you, we'd love to hear your thoughts. Share it with someone who needs a reminder that creativity isn't a privilege—it's a human birthright. Follow As If We Know for more conversations exploring the inherited blueprints that shape how we work, rest, love, create, and live.
