Roam With Cam

Cam Hogan

Ever have a conversation where someone said something that altered your perspective, and you're still turning it over days later? Then you should stick around. I talk to people navigating uncertainty and anyone building a life with intention. A strength coach who knows the weight isn't really about the weight. A doula who's witnessed 300 births and understands what happens when we trust women versus trying to control them. A pianist who writes with the same intention he plays. If you've felt that pull, where a conversation found you right when you needed it, this podcast is for you.

Jennifer Mulholland on Overthinking, Big Changes, and Trusting Your Gut

How do you know when it's time to make a change, especially when nothing is obviously wrong? Jennifer Mulholland has made that call more than once. Heading into her senior year as a two-sport Division I athlete at Delaware, something wasn't sitting right. She felt pulled toward the mountains, so she laid a map on the floor and landed on Utah. She came for a semester and stayed, founding Women's Wasatch Lacrosse, a nonprofit that started Utah's first high school and club teams, and ran it for five years. That pattern kept showing up. She became Chief Innovation Officer at a Fortune 500 company, then co-founded a consulting firm and retreat center that brought meditation and purpose work to organizations like Maker's Mark and World Wildlife Fund. Most recently, she left that to become a spiritual teacher. Each time, she didn't wait for things to break. She paid attention to the restlessness and acted on it. In this episode, we get practical about trusting your gut. What does it actually feel like in your body? How do you tell it apart from fear or overthinking? How do you quiet your mind enough to hear it? And once you know, how do you move through the discomfort of acting on it? We also talk about the grief of leaving something good, why a hard feeling often needs attention more than a fix, and simple ways to reset when you feel stuck.
