Elul is a special month of teshuva and closeness to Hashem, expressed by “Ani L’dodi V’dodi Li” — “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.” The shiur also discusses two miracles that happened on Elul 11 and introduces the Ruzhin Hasidic dynasty. The Ruzhiner Rebbe taught that serving Hashem should combine dignity on the outside with deep humility on the inside. This connects to Rosh Hashanah, when our main focus is accepting Hashem as King.

Elul is a time when we are especially close to Hashem — “Ani L’dodi V’dodi Li.” Rabbi Ribner explains that teshuvah means returning to Hashem, and that when we return out of love, our past mistakes can even be transformed into merits.
