Season 2 Episode 6 — When Helplessness Feels Manipulative

Season 2 Episode 6 — When Helplessness Feels Manipulative Some relational dynamics are difficult because a person seems deeply helpless, needy, fragile, or dependent—yet the pattern also feels controlling, inconsistent, emotionally coercive, or manipulative. In this episode, Rev. Stormyee approaches this sensitive subject with both compassion and clarity. Listeners are invited to consider how Christian love includes wisdom, how to observe patterns without becoming harsh, and how to stop taking responsibility for another adult’s entire emotional world. This conversation explores the difference between genuine inability and unwillingness, why ambiguity can produce false guilt, and practical responses that reduce over-functioning. It is an episode for anyone who wants to remain tenderhearted without becoming trapped in a confusing or draining dynamic. This episode covers manipulation, helplessness, discernment, responsibility, guilt, boundaries, caregiving, and biblical wisdom. Scripture for this Episode: Matthew 10:16 Philippians 1:9–10 2 Thessalonians 3:10 Proverbs 26:24–25 James 1:5 Galatians 6:5 In the next episode, we are going to move into another major source of pain: church hurt, spiritual misuse, and what it looks like to stay anchored in Jesus when spiritual environments have wounded you. With fierce love and unshakeable faith,  I’m Rev. Stormyee, and this is Wholeness.     Send us Fan Mail Support the show If you would like to join my Comprehensive Trauma To Triumph 20 Week Coaching Program and work with me one on one please visit https://co-createlifecoaching.com

Rev. Stormyee speaks directly to the experience of losing privacy, quiet, rest, emotional space, and the ability to feel fully at ease in your own home.  Through Scripture, practical coaching, and prayer, this episode explores why peace in the home matters, why compassion does not require overexposure, how repeated strain affects the nervous system, and how to create wise structure without drowning in guilt.  This episode covers family stress, home boundaries, caregiving, emotional exhaustion, marriage unity, privacy, peace, and practical next steps.  Scripture focus for this Episode: John 14:27 Proverbs 14:30 Proverbs 17:1 Philippians 4:5–7 Colossians 3:15 Galatians 6:5 James 1:19  In the next episode, we are going to look at a connected and painful topic: when someone presents as helpless, but the dynamic feels manipulative or emotionally controlling. Season 2 Episode 4 — Grief Is Holy: Biblical and Practical Ways to Process Loss

Season 2 Episode 4 — Grief Is Holy: Biblical and Practical Ways to Process Loss  Grief is not a lack of faith. It is often one of the holiest ways the heart tells the truth about love and loss.  In this episode, Rev. Stormyee talks about grief after death, illness, betrayal, trauma, estrangement, lost dreams, spiritual wounds, and the loss of the life you thought you would have. Through Scripture—including the truth that Jesus wept—listeners are invited to stop rushing grief, spiritualizing it away, or treating it as a problem to solve.  This episode explores how grief lives in the body, why unprocessed grief can become bitterness or exhaustion, how biblical lament creates a pathway for healing, and practical ways to honor loss in everyday life.  This episode covers grief, lament, trauma, bodily responses, loss, comfort, Scripture, and practical healing rhythms.   Scripture focus — All the Scripture we will cover today  Psalm 34:18  John 11:33–35  Romans 12:15  Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4  Matthew 5:4  Psalm 13:1–2, 5  2 Corinthians 1:3–4  Psalm 56:8  In the next episode, we are going to begin moving into more listener-situation style episodes, where we apply all of this—trauma, discernment, boundaries, grief, and prayer—to real-life relational situations.  We are going to start with a deeply relevant one: living with a draining, controlling, or manipulative family member, and how to walk that out in a Christian, practical, grounded way without drowning in guilt.  Until then, may God meet you in your grief with tenderness.

Season 2 -Episode 3 — Boundaries as Biblical, Not Selfish

Season 2 -Episode 3 — Boundaries as Biblical, Not Selfish  Many believers feel guilty for needing limits. They have learned to say yes when they are exhausted, over-explain their needs, carry responsibilities that are not theirs, and call depletion “love.”  In this episode, Rev. Stormyee offers a biblical and practical conversation about boundaries. Using Scripture and trauma-informed coaching, she explores why boundaries are not selfish, why guarding the heart matters, how Jesus modeled wise limits, and how trauma can make saying no feel dangerous.  Listeners will learn the difference between punishment and boundaries, burdens and personal loads, compassion and over-functioning. This episode also includes practical examples of time, space, emotional, informational, responsibility, and relational boundaries.  This episode covers boundaries, people-pleasing, nervous-system healing, marriage, caregiving, over-responsibility, rest, and biblical stewardship.  Scriptures for this Episode:  Proverbs 4:23 Mark 12:30–31 Galatians 6:2–5 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 Luke 5:16 John 2:24 Ecclesiastes 3:1 Psalm 127:2  In our next episode, we are going to shift into a deeply important topic that many people carry quietly for years: grief, its holy nature, and how to process grief in biblical and real-life practical ways.  We will talk about grief not only after death, but after losses of all kinds—health, dreams, relationships, safety, innocence, community, identity. We will talk about lament, the body, and why grief is not something to be rushed through or spiritualized away.  This next conversation will matter deeply, because so much bitterness, numbness, and exhaustion is connected to grief that has not been honored.  I will meet you there.

Season 2 - Episode 2 — Bitterness, Discernment, and False Guilt

Season 2 Episode 2 — Bitterness, Discernment, and False Guilt  Have you ever felt angry, resentful, exhausted, or guilty in a difficult relationship—and then wondered whether you were the problem?  In this episode, Rev. Stormyee helps listeners untangle bitterness, discernment, healthy anger, grief, and false guilt. Not every uncomfortable feeling is bitterness. Sometimes what feels like “being unkind” is actually discernment. Sometimes resentment is grief that has never been acknowledged. And sometimes guilt is not conviction from God at all, but an accusation that keeps you confused and over-responsible.  Through Scripture, trauma-informed coaching, reflection questions, and prayer, this episode offers a compassionate way to tell the truth about difficult family, relational, and emotional dynamics while keeping your heart open to God’s healing.  Scripture for this Episode: Hebrews 4:15–16 Romans 12:9 Ephesians 4:26–27 Ephesians 4:31–32 Exodus 20:12 Proverbs 4:23 James 3:17  This episode covers discernment, anger, resentment, false guilt, honor, forgiveness, emotional boundaries, and biblical wisdom.  In the next episode, we are going to keep building by talking about Boundaries as Biblical, Not Selfish.  We will look at why so many believers feel guilty for needing limits, why boundaries are essential for nervous-system healing, how Jesus Himself modeled boundaries, and what healthy boundaries can look like in real life, especially when you are dealing with demanding, intrusive, or manipulative people.  We are going to go deeper than clichés. We are going to connect Scripture, coaching, trauma healing, and practical wisdom in a way that actually helps you live this out.  Take care of your heart this week. It matters to God.

Season 2- Episode 1 — When Trauma Meets Faith: Why Your Reactions Make Sense

Season 2- Episode 1 — When Trauma Meets Faith: Why Your Reactions Make Sense When trauma meets faith, many people carry an extra layer of shame: If I trust God, why does my body still react? Why do I still feel anxious, numb, angry, exhausted, or overwhelmed? In this opening episode of Season 2, Rev. Stormyee explores why trauma responses make sense and why nervous-system reactions are not proof of weak faith. Through Scripture, compassionate teaching, practical reflection, and prayer, this episode creates room to understand the body’s protective patterns without judgment. Listeners are invited to bring their real reactions—not a polished version of themselves—to Jesus, who is close to the brokenhearted and gentle with weary souls. This episode covers trauma, nervous-system activation, shame, faith, compassion, Scripture, and practical ways to invite Jesus into moments of overwhelm. Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”  God does not move away from your pain; He comes close to the parts of you that feel crushed, tired, and overwhelmed. Isaiah 42:3 “A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out.”  Your fragility does not make you disposable to God—Jesus handles wounded places with gentleness. Psalm 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”  Healing may be layered and slow, but God is attentive to wounds that still need care. Matthew 11:28–30 “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… for I am gentle and humble in heart…”  Jesus does not ask you to become regulated before you come; He invites you to come exactly as weary as you are. Hebrews 4:15–16 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses…”  Your weakness is not a place where Jesus withdraws—it is a place where mercy and help are available. Romans 8:26 “The Spirit helps us in our weakness… the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”  When you cannot find the right words, God still understands what your body and soul are trying to say. 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 “The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles…”  God’s comfort is not a denial of trouble; it is His presence with you in the middle of it. In the next episode, we are going to go deeper into what happens when difficult relationships stir so much pain in us that we start wrestling with bitterness, discernment, and false guilt. We are going to talk about how to tell the difference between seeing clearly and hardening internally, how to recognize false guilt, and how to bring all of that honestly before God. That episode matters, because so many people are carrying shame for things that actually need wisdom, grief, and truth. I will meet you there. With fierce love and unshakeable faith, I’m Rev. Stormyee, and this is Wholeness. In Season 2 of Wholeness, we are going deeper.   We are going to talk honestly about what happens when trauma meets faith—when you love God, but your body is still tired, your heart still hurts, and your nervous system still reacts to what you have survived.   We will walk through bitterness, discernment, false guilt, boundaries, grief, forgiveness, church hurt, difficult family dynamics, marriage under pressure, and what it means to keep choosing peace when life is still complicated.   We will make room for the conversations many people avoid: how to love without losing yourself, how to forgive without betraying your own heart, how to recognize when your body is still living in survival mode, and how to let Jesus meet you in the places that still feel tender.   Season 2 is not about becoming perfect.   It is about becoming more honest, more rooted, more discerning, more peaceful, and more whole.   So if you have been carrying pain quietly, if you are tired of being the strong one, if you have wondered whether your reactions make sense, or if you are longing for a deeper kind of healing—Season 2 is for you.   Stay with me, friends. We are going deeper, and there is more healing ahead.   With fierce love and unshakeable faith, I’m Rev. Episode 19 – “Serving and Leading Without Losing Yourself”

Serving From Belovedness, Not Burnout Many survivors become the “go‑to helper” at church and at home, often at the expense of their own health. This episode explores the difference between Christ‑like service and trauma‑driven over‑functioning. Looking at the life of Jesus, Rev. Stormyee highlights how He served with boundaries, rest, and clarity of calling—and how you can, too. You’ll do a “servant or savior?” heart check and identify at least one boundary or support you need to serve without losing yourself. Primary Scriptures for this episode (feel free to pause and look them up): Matthew 11:28–30 – “My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”Mark 10:42–45 – Servant leadership like Jesus.Galatians 1:10 – Seeking God’s approval, not people’s.1 Peter 4:10–11 – Using your gifts to serve as faithful stewards.Luke 5:15–16 – Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. In our final episode of this series, we’ll talk about staying on the healing journey long‑term—how to keep walking with God after this podcast ends, trusting that the work He started in you, He will be faithful to continue. Until then, may you feel free to serve from a place of belovedness—and to rest, knowing that Jesus is the true Savior, not you.
