    An Ohio jury is weighing what a defendant meant, and an Idaho judge is being asked whether another one understood. In the Caleb Flynn murder trial, prosecution witness Alleigha Botner testified the former American Idol contestant told her every week he wished his wife was out of his life. She also read jurors a text exchange from March 2025 that ended in two words. She said he spent Valentine's weekend 2026 promising her a divorce on Monday.     Caleb Flynn Court Coverage Day 6: He Told Detective “You’re Pointing at Me”

    Det. Sgt. Mike Morgan’s testimony gave jurors something different from a reconstruction of the scene: Caleb Flynn explaining the night Ashley Flynn died in his own recorded words. Prosecutors played two voluntary interviews Morgan conducted with Flynn. Morgan testified that he responded to the home, walked through the scene and garage, and observed Ashley deceased. He said the garage side door showed damage, but testified that it did not look consistent with forced entry. Morgan asked Ohio BCI to assist. That testimony fits a larger prosecution presentation in which investigators have said they found no evidence supporting the forced-entry account; the defense disputes the state’s conclusion and says Ashley was killed during a home invasion. Flynn told Morgan that Ashley had put the girls to bed around 8:30 p.m. and that the couple went to bed around 11. Because he was coughing, Flynn said Ashley asked him to sleep on the couch. He later heard the dog, went into the girls’ room and lay on a bunk. Flynn said he then heard two shots, ran to the garage, saw the side door wide open and closed it. He went to Ashley, saw she had been shot and called 911. Flynn also described two earlier encounters involving a strange man, including one in which he said the man told Ashley, “I know where you live.” Morgan had Flynn write down the firearms and ammunition in the home. During the second interview, Morgan asked whether there were problems in the marriage. Flynn answered, “No. We had a normal marriage,” and said investigators would find nothing on either phone showing trouble. When Morgan continued questioning him, Flynn said, “It feels like you're pointing at me.” Caleb has pleaded not guilty to all charges.     Caleb Flynn Court Coverage Day 6: Pastor Says Alleigha Resigned WHEN?

    Jordan Hansen testified that Alleigha Botner was house-sitting at his home when prosecutors allege Ashley Flynn was killed. Hansen, pastor of Christian Life Center, also told jurors that relationships between staff and volunteers are prohibited unless they are married, and that an extramarital affair would violate church policy. He said Alleigha resigned from CLC the following weekend. Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege Caleb staged the scene to resemble a home-invasion burglary. The defense says a real intruder killed Ashley and investigators rushed to judgment. Neighbor Joseph Stratman supplied another piece of the timeline. He testified that his home surveillance cameras showed no evidence of an outside intruder entering the property. Prosecutors played three clips showing a car leaving the house, returning, and leaving again, which the state used to place Alleigha at the home during the relevant time period. Cross-examination put limits around that footage. Hansen testified there was no surveillance inside or outside his home and said farmland and an open field sit behind the property. The jury heard what the cameras captured - and, just as importantly, what they could not. She told jurors her heart started pounding because it seemed like too much of a coincidence that Ashley died the day Flynn said he was divorcing her. She sent Flynn a message. He never answered it.     Special Agent Andrea Kinzig's continued testimony in the Caleb Flynn murder trial turned into a fight over what investigators pursued, what they left alone, and which digital records the jury should trust. Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Kinzig testified that Amazon records showed three Blink cameras in the Flynn home - at the front door, back door, and living room - were last online on January 26, 2026. The defense also asked about a tip from Zachary McIntosh concerning a supposed hit on Caleb by Chris Hill.     Caleb Flynn’s Mistress Texted ‘Praise God’ After He Said WHAT?!

    “Praise God.” That’s what Alleigha Botner texted Caleb Flynn after he allegedly told her he’d smile the whole time killing his wife. Botner was 23 when those messages started — a worship leader at the same church the Flynns attended. She spent more than four hours on the witness stand reading twelve months of texts to a Miami County jury, and by the time she reached her July 2025 messages, she was using Flynn’s words, his nickname for Ashley, and his framing of Ashley’s death as their way out. Flynn is charged with aggravated murder in the death of Ashley Flynn, 37, shot twice in the back of the head in their Tipp City, Ohio home on February 16, 2026. Prosecutors allege he staged a burglary. His defense says there is no recovered weapon and no eyewitness. According to Botner’s testimony, Flynn started texting that he wanted Ashley dead — if it wouldn’t send him to hell, he’d do it in a heartbeat. He asked Botner to hire someone. When she said they needed a solution, he told her he’d never been joking. Every time she pushed for a real answer about leaving, the texts shifted — he couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat, was praying to be mauled by a bear. She stopped pushing. He introduced a 40-day spiritual fast as a timeline. He compared her following a man on social media to the sacrifice of losing his daughters. His closing line in that exchange, per testimony: “I’m not trying to manipulate you.” The messages document five moves repeated for a year until the person receiving them started sending them back. Five months before Ashley was shot, they were coordinating the permanent deletion of everything. Cross-examination has not yet begun.
