Episode 2: B's Snake Bite (part 1) - A "Cool Story" or Trauma?

What happens when something we’ve carried for years as a story begins to reveal itself as something deeper? In this episode of The Pronoia Podcast, B shares the story of being bitten by an eastern brown snake at 11 years old, an experience that brought her close to death. She takes us step by step through what happened, from the moment of the bite, to her parents’ response, the medical care she received, and her recovery in hospital. For many years, this lived as a “cool story.” But 25 years later, something began to shift. What had once felt contained started to reveal itself in her body in a different way, opening up the realisation that this had, in fact, been a significant trauma. From here, the conversation expands into how trauma can live quietly within us, shaping our physiology and perception over time, and the kind of safety and gentle attention that allows it to begin to shift. This is a conversation about the body, memory, and the unfolding nature of healing.
