Kisses from Kenya Ep 39: Hair Transplant, Political Engagement, and a Turkey Leg (but it wasn’t a leg😜)

Send us Fan Mail Episode 39: Hair Transplant, Political Engagement, and a Turkey Leg (but it wasn’t a leg😜) This is Kisses from Kenya — the usual laughs, the commentary nobody asked for, and all your favorite segments. Here's your quick rundown of what's inside. In This Episode Vuyanzi's hair transplant is finally growing in (the scarves aren't retiring yet, though she did cave and buy a wig — for her son's wedding), and Brendan's rocking a look that says "white boy from Schenectady." Then it's on to voter registration, which turns out to be an accidental crash course in human psychology — some people flee the table, one woman flatly says she does NOT want to vote, others practically hug her. Somewhere in there, borrowing money nearly takes someone down, a guard knows way too much about Brendan’s business, and Brendan walks away with a new appreciation for Sesame Street he did not see coming. Also: Fridays are sacred, and joy doesn't always require anyone's clothes to come off. Just wine and whatever has been occupying their brains lately.Social media, authenticity, childhood memories—and somehow Chinese food and The Passion of the Christ enter the conversation. Lost in Translation Vuyanzi has an uncomfortable realization about herself after a date.Brendan's fertility beads do not survive the week. That's all you get.Our Joy Matters Queer Joy: Brendan had quite the evening.Black Joy: Vuyanzi is reminded that intimacy doesn't always have to be sexual. And if you're an American living abroad, visit VoteFromAbroad.org for information on voting from overseas. Kisses from Kenya Ep 37: This P*nis May Have Saved Her Life... Seriously!

Send us Fan Mail Ep 37: This P*nis May Have Saved Her Life... Seriously! | Kisses from Kenya Description This week, a man overstays his welcome, Brendan may or may not be flirting with somebody he shouldn't be, and Vuyanzi has had ENOUGH of everybody romanticizing the good old days.Oh—and apparently, a well-endowed man may have helped save a life.We have questions. 😂 In This Episode Opening Conversation Vuyanzi has a gentleman caller who apparently missed the memo about when it was time to GO. How do you politely tell someone that 2 PM the next day is... excessive? What's on Our Minds? Can we please stop pretending everything was wonderful before the current political madness?Vuyanzi and Brendan get into nostalgia, Obama, American politics, and why longing for the past might be keeping us from imagining something better. Lost in Translation After three years together, Vuyanzi makes the difficult decision to let her house manager go—but wonders if there was something she never understood.Meanwhile, Brendan's straight actor friend gets a little flirty. Brendan flirts back. Then somebody changes the subject. 👀 Our Joy Matters Queer Joy: A woman, her partner, one VERY observant body part... and a trip to the doctor. Let's just say Brendan is calling this one Big D*cks for Science. 😂Black Joy: Remember those cousins who aren't actually Vuyanzi's cousins Well, Vuyanzi would like recognition for behaving herself. Brendan is considerably less impressed.Become a subscriber, leave us a comment, and tell us what part of this week's conversation got you talking. Kisses from Kenya Ep 36: Brendan Got Honest About Sex... Then Vuyanzi Got Mad

Send us Fan Mail Ep 36: Brendan Got Honest About Sex... Then Vuyanzi Got Mad | Kisses from Kenya Description Brendan admits something about sex that Vuyanzi definitely wasn't expecting—and that's only the beginning. This week, we're talking bodies, social anxiety, performative outrage, relationship expectations, and one misunderstanding between the two of us that got a little more personal than expected. Plus, a former boo resurfaces, somebody gets gifted a macawiis, and Vuyanzi crashes a cousins’ trip. Yeah. There's a lot going on this week. 😂 In This Episode Opening Conversation Brendan gets unexpectedly vulnerable about sex and body consciousness. Vuyanzi is surprised—and somehow they both end up admitting a little more than planned. What's on Our Minds? Those retaliatory posts aimed at racists might feel satisfying... but are they doing anything? And how much of what any of us posts online is really performance? Lost in Translation Vuyanzi gets offended with Brendan—and then realizes the problem might not actually be Brendan.Meanwhile, Brendan and a former boo discover they have misaligned expectations. Our Joy Matters Queer Joy: Brendan gets a very unexpected Kenyan gift from a friend.Black Joy: Vuyanzi goes on a cousins’ trip. There's just one small detail: they're not her cousins. 😂Become a subscriber, leave us a comment, and tell us what part of this week's conversation got you talking. Kisses from Kenya Ep 35: AI Privacy... What Did We Give Away?

Send us Fan Mail EPISODE 35: AI Privacy... What Did We Give Away? Long before AI began learning everything about us, we were volunteering personal data online with very few questions. Now artificial intelligence can analyze, combine, and draw conclusions from information we may not even remember sharing. Who controls our personal data once we click “I agree”—and did we ever understand what we were consenting to? Vuyanzi and Brendan revisit early Facebook, accidental heartbreak, and the digital trail leading us into the age of AI privacy. Somehow, a hair transplant, a secret girlfriend, and Brendan’s passionate objection to flaccid French fries also become relevant. Kisses from Kenya Ep 34: Why Americans Distrust Both Parties

Send us Fan Mail EPISODE 34: Why Americans Distrust Both Parties Democrats distrust Republicans. Republicans distrust Democrats. Increasingly, Americans distrust both major political parties. So where does that leave everyone else? In a deeply polarized American political system, is finding common ground an act of courage—or a convenient way to avoid standing for something? Vuyanzi and Brendan enter the debate before moving on to offbeat church clapping, questionable horror classifications, serious spice-rack diplomacy, and what happens when a friend with benefits simply becomes…a friend.
