Addicted to Acting w/ Gary Tanguay

Addicted to Acting

The craft never stops calling — and neither does Gary Tanguay. Addicted to Acting is the podcast for anyone who lives and breathes performance. Each episode, actor and host Gary Tanguay sits down with fellow actors to pull back the curtain on what it really means to pursue this art form: the auditions, the breakthroughs, the setbacks, and the passion that keeps you coming back for more. From working actors to rising stars, Gary digs deep into his guests' journeys — exploring the techniques they swear by, the roles that changed them, and the raw, unfiltered truth of life on and off the stage.

    Episode 16: Sharisse Zeroonian

Gary sits down with Boston-born actress, writer, and director Sharisse Zeroonian — and this one is a little different. Because while Sharisse loves acting, she'll be the first to tell you she's even more addicted to writing and filmmaking. And at her age, the body of work she's already built is genuinely impressive.Born and raised in the Boston area, Sharisse has written, directed, and starred in multiple projects entirely on her own terms. Her feature film The Mouse in the Bread — an experimental drama exploring how a family's dynamic shifts after one member commits a crime — ran on Amazon Prime and earned her critical recognition. Her short film Well Water was a semi-finalist at the Los Angeles Cinefest. She created, wrote, and directed the semi-autobiographical series One Plus One Is Two and the comedic series Sandbox Police, following three recent college grads navigating the awkwardness of early adult life. Most recently she's been at work on Nothing Solid, where she also appears on screen as Nikki. This is a conversation about what it looks like to be a true independent filmmaker — writing your own stories, directing your own vision, and acting in your own work — all before most people have figured out what they want to do with their lives.🎙️ Subscribe so you never miss an episode of Addicted to Acting with Gary Tanguay#ActingPodcast #SharisseZeroonian #AddictedToActing #GaryTanguay #IndieFilm #WomenFilmmakers #BostonFilmmakers #Screenwriting #IndependentFilm #ActressDirector

    Episode 15: Patrick Languzzi

Gary sits down with Waltham's own Patrick Languzzi — and if his story doesn't inspire you to chase whatever it is you've been putting off, nothing will.Patrick's path to acting is one of the most unique you'll hear. Born to Italian immigrants in Waltham, Massachusetts, he graduated from Framingham State University with a degree in Business and Quantitative Economics, built a career in the biotech industry working in oncology for Genentech, and spent 20 years as a competitive bodybuilder — earning two National Amateur Bodybuilding Championship titles and finalist placings at the professional Natural Mr. Universe and Natural America contests. Then a single Polaroid taken at an open casting call for The Town changed everything. That one photo led to audition calls, which led to a class with renowned LA casting director Paul Weber, who told Patrick straight up: pursue this. He listened. Since then, Patrick has appeared in The Town with Ben Affleck, Stronger with Jake Gyllenhaal, Central Intelligence with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, Joy with Jennifer Lawrence, and the acclaimed indie Donald Cried — sharing the screen with some of Hollywood's biggest names, all while coming from a world most actors never inhabit. This is a conversation about second acts, raw talent, and what happens when a bodybuilder from Waltham walks into a casting call and never looks back.🎙️ Subscribe so you never miss an episode of Addicted to Acting with Gary Tanguay#ActingPodcast #PatrickLanguzzi #AddictedToActing #GaryTanguay #ActorsLife #TheTown #Stronger #BostonActors #NewEnglandActors
