Ep 14 | Healing Your Nervous System as an Ambitious Woman with Victoria Davis

At her lowest point, she felt like she was going to die - literally. She could feel her heart, the cortisol coursing through her body, the weight of what she had been carrying for 15 to 20 years of overextending herself in every single area of her life. In Episode 14, I sit down with Victoria Davis — marketing and communications professional, content creator, new Austinite, and one of the most grounded women I know — for a conversation about what it actually looks like to burn out, heal, and rebuild a life that feels good from the inside out. --- In this episode: - Victoria's career journey: 20 years in marketing and communications, graduating into a recession, navigating microaggressions as a Black woman in her industry, and finally landing at an agency doing exactly what she'd always wanted — and then nearly losing everything trying to keep up with it - What it felt like to raise her hand and say "I need help" — and what happened when the system didn't respond - The prayer she prayed on November 8, 2021: supernatural strength or a new direction. And what happened next. - Why leaving a job you love can feel like a death - What healing actually looked like: patio sitting, breathing exercises, long walks not for calories but for presence, switching from HIIT to slower movement, sleeping, reading, and processing 20 years of grief she had never made space for - Why high-achieving women are high-achieving in every area of their lives, not just work — and why that makes burnout so much harder to diagnose and recover from - The seasons of life framework: why nature goes dormant and why we should too — and what it looks like to honor a winter season instead of fighting it - Her faith as the anchor through every environment: praying before pitches, working unto God not unto man, and why "promotion comes from the Lord" is the only antidote to striving --- Connect: Instagram: @joinsyncedsociety Website: syncedsociety.com If this episode found you in a season that feels like winter — you're in the right place. Ep 13 | The Willingness to Be Seen — A Conversation on Vulnerability with Michelle LeMaster

Most high-achieving women have built an identity so far on top of who they actually are that they don't even realize what it's costing them. In Episode 13, I sit down with my friend Michelle LeMaster — native New Yorker, global executive team leader, community group leader, and one of the most thoughtful people I know on the topic of vulnerability. --- In this episode: - Michelle's story: growing up as a third culture kid in Queens, a chaotic household, and the childhood message she received that shaped everything — "if I let weakness in, I'll be overcome" - The neuroscience of vulnerability — what The Soul of Shame by Dr. Kurt Thompson taught Michelle about attachment, shame, and why the brain literally cannot tell the difference between breaking an arm and being rejected - The definition of vulnerability that Michelle lives by: the willingness to be seen despite the fear of rejection, for the sake of connection - The difference between vulnerability and oversharing — and the litmus test that tells you which one you're in - What it actually costs you to never be vulnerable - How faith shapes Michelle's relationship with vulnerability --- Books mentioned: - The Soul of Shame by Dr. Curt Thompson - Leading with a Limp by Dan Allender - Shattered Dreams by Larry Crabb --- Connect: Instagram: @joinsyncedsociety Website: syncedsociety.com If this episode moved something in you, share it with one person in your life who could benefit. — Kaleigh

Ep 12 | The Sandwich Generation: Career, Caretaking + Choosing Yourself with Kate Freeman

In Episode 12, I sit down with Kate Freeman, Senior Manager at EY, mom to a three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, caretaker for her mother through Alzheimer's, and the woman who has been in my corner since I was one year into my career. Seven years later, we're finally recording the conversation we've been having all along. This episode is about what ambition actually looks like when life gets complicated. When you have a baby and a parent who needs you and a demanding job and a partner and a self that keeps getting pushed to the back of the list. Kate has navigated all of it — with grace, with humor, and with a sticky note on her computer that says "good enough." --- In this episode: - What ambition looked like for Kate in her twenties and how that shifted dramatically when she started a family and became a caretaker for her mom - The daily negotiation of priorities: how Kate decides what to sacrifice and what to protect  - How she expanded her identity beyond work throughout her thirties - The "good enough" mantra and how Kate learned to apply it to client decks, gym days, lunch, and everything in between - What it means to advocate for the people you mentor  - How she models sustainable ambition for her daughter  - Kate's closing thought: wellness and ambition will always be in tension. The goal isn't to eliminate the tension but to remove the expectations of what it's supposed to look like so you can be the best version of yourself within it --- **Connect with TSS:** Instagram: @joinsyncedsociety Website: syncedsociety.com (join the email list!) Ep 9 | Making It Past the "Pod Fade" & What It Means to Be Consistent

70 to 90% of podcasts never make it to episode eight. There's a name for it: "pod fade." The excitement of launching wears off, the downloads plateau, and the work required to keep going gets very loud very fast. You're listening to Episode 8 of The Synced Society, which means we made it! And today I want to talk about what consistency really looks like when nobody is clapping. This isn't a motivational speech. You don't need one. You're already hustling, already achieving, already showing up. What this episode is about is something different: showing up for yourself with self-respect and devotion — not discipline. --- In this episode: - Why perfectionism is the high achiever's specific enemy of consistency — and why good enough is genuinely good enough - The external validation trap: high achievers are conditioned for feedback loops. What happens when the loop goes quiet? - The novelty problem: why most people quit in the middle, and why the middle is actually where the real work happens - The quiet season: why the work is compounding even when the results aren't visible yet - Practical systems that actually help - Devotion over discipline: what it means to show up for yourself because of who you've decided to be, not because you're waiting to feel motivated --- Connect: Instagram: @joinsyncedsociety Website: syncedsociety.com (join the email list) If this episode resonated, share it with one woman who is in the quiet season. — Kaleigh

Ep 8 | Grief, Healing, and Finding Your Way Back to Joy with Kalindi Cordero

In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend Kalindi Cordero — a woman who lost her father to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at 19 and her mother to stage four breast cancer seven months later. Who called off an eight-year engagement and had to rediscover herself from scratch. Who walked into a salsa class terrified, couldn't look at herself in the mirror, and made a promise to show up every single week anyway. This episode is about grief. It's about healing. And it's about the joy you find when you finally stop abandoning yourself. --- In this episode: Kalindi's grief journey and what it means to be an eldest daughter who becomes a caretaker for her parents as a child The grief nobody talks about: calling off an eight-year engagement and why that kind of loss can sometimes feel harder than physical loss because the person is still out there living their lifeWhat dance taught her about surrender, trust, and letting go of control especially as a woman who had been in her masculine for yearsThe PCOS diagnosis at the end of 2023 and finding community through shared experienceWhat bringing it back to joy looks like: bikes, the sun on your face, music loud enough to feel it in your chest, and the friendships that hold you through all of it--- Kalindi's wisdom drop: You can't do it all and you can't save everybody. Take time to sit with yourself and figure out what needs have gone unmet for so long. Fight for the little tidbits of joy — whatever they look like. And celebrate every win, no matter how small. --- Connect with Kalindi: Substack: The Lumen Room Pedal the Pacific --- Connect with TSS: Instagram: @joinsyncedsociety Website: syncedsociety.com (Join the email list!)
