How pharma commercial teams can move past barriers to achieve meaningful AI adoption

Results of a recent Beghou study reveal a high level of AI experimentation among biopharma commercial execs but a lack of enterprise integration.  What’s preventing a more sustained level of uptake?  According to study co-leader Brett Ramos, Senior Director of Commercial Operations and Analytics at Neurelis, adoption has been a mixed bag. has been a mixed bag. That's not due merely to AI access. The study revealed a combination of high interest and low fear, suggesting the barrier is structural.   Ramos and his study co-lead, Beghou Partner Nicole Ventrone, mapped AI usage, as well as the main barriers and drivers to sustained adoption. In many cases, they were surprised to see where AI was clustering and where it was not. They compiled those data into a behavioral segmentation framework categorizing individuals by their orientation toward the technology, as well as what each of eight different personas needs to use AI with confidence and in a practical, sustained way.  In this podcast, Ramos not only demystifies common AI myths. He also points out prevalent stigmas, i.e., when colleagues are subtly shamed for using AI instead of rewarded. And he provides a segmentation framework that enables personalized approaches for rolling out the technology.   Read the report brief for more on the Commercialization That Works: AI Enablement survey (April 2026) findings: [Turning individual AI experimentation into sustained adoption and value in life sciences] Also, read our article for more about the common assumptions surrounding AI adoption that were challenged by the survey findings: Biopharma’s own AI myth-busters separate tall tale from truism [https://beghou.com/blog/ai-adoption-personas-biopharma-commercial-teams]
