Hot Mess Car Medium

Janet

Welcome to Hot Mess Car Medium. The podcast for the mom who's late to school pickup, forgot to defrost something for dinner, and also maybe just received a message from someone's dead grandma. Yeah. We're that kind of show. I'm Janet. ADHD mom, Reiki Master Teacher, medium, and certified overthinker. I talk to dead people, I forget where I put my keys, and somehow both of those things are equally true and equally mine. This podcast is for the moms who are deeply spiritual AND deeply scattered. Who light palo santo and also lose their phone in their own house three times a day. Who are trying to regulate their nervous system while simultaneously managing a family, a to-do list, and a very loud inner knowing that keeps saying hey, there's more for you than this. You're not broken. You're not too much. You're just neurodivergent and plugged in to something bigger than a productivity system can hold. Here we talk about mediumship, Reiki, ADHD, the absolute chaos of conscious parenting, and what it actually looks like to build a spiritual practice when your brain works the way ours does. No wellness speak. No toxic positivity. No pretending we have it together. Just real conversations, real stories, real woo, and the occasional message from the other side delivered in a school car park. Pull up a chair. Or a car seat. Either works. New episodes every week. The Call to Colombia without a Phone

What if dementia isn't a disease of forgetting — but a slow, sacred transition into something we don't have a 3D frame of reference for yet? In this episode, Janet shares two readings that completely shifted how she thinks about dementia, consciousness, and what it means to be "here." First: the story of Ligia, a woman living with dementia in Colombia who reached out mid-text-reading to correct Janet's pronunciation and deliver a message to an old neighbor. Then: a second reading where a client's grandmother — not yet diagnosed but trending that way — showed up with very specific instructions and a thank you for the Easter tough love. What unfolded from both of those experiences is a theory Janet is still sitting with: what if dementia patients aren't losing their grip on reality, but loosening their grip on this timeline so they can visit others? What if your grandma remembering her babies as babies isn't confusion — but her literally being back in 1955, raising them? And what if we treated it that way? In this episode: What the Telepathy Tapes taught Janet about connecting with dementia patients (and the husband who cut caretaking time by two thirds once he started listening)The Ligia story — how a woman in Colombia, still alive, reached out through a text reading and corrected Janet's Bad Bunny referenceA second reading: a grandmother who isn't diagnosed yet, but had a lot to say anywayThe willing suspension of disbelief we owe our loved ones who are leaving slowly (Jurassic World in heels said what it said)Why those with degenerative diseases might actually adapt faster on the other side — because they've been practicing Resources mentioned: The Telepathy Tapes podcast (Ky Dickson)Bad Bunny, La Mudanza (you'll understand when you listen) Work with Janet: Reiki Level 1 Certification — July 9th & 10th — only 4 spots available. I Did All The Work

If you've ever thought "I think we're all just pretending to have it together" — this one's for you. In this episode, I'm sitting down and telling you the whole story. The undiagnosed ADHD kid who was too sensitive, worked twice as hard to look half as put together, and spent years thinking she just wasn't smart enough. I take you through all of it: Growing up hypervigilant and emotionally exhausted without knowing whyTeaching while running on fumes and daily naps just to survivePostpartum depression that was actually a dopamine crash nobody caughtGrief that hit different — because ADHD brains don't process time the way neurotypical brains doThe Instagram rabbit hole that finally cracked it openThe diagnosis that made me say "holy shit, this explains my entire life"And everything I did after — therapy, meds, hypnotherapy, shadow work, Reiki, Akashic records — all of it I also talk about the 4/7 rule — the framework that finally gave me permission to stop expecting perfection from myself as a mom. Seven days. Four wins. That's the championship. This episode is for the late-diagnosed adult who's been calling it anxiety, depression, or just being bad at life. It's not that. You've been raw-dogging an ADHD brain with tools that were never made for you.  My app "I Need a Minute" — built for moments when your brain won't stop: https://i-need-a-minute.pages.dev  The Regulated Hot Mess Workbook — on Amazon: https://a.co/d/0d9wrnPL  Regulated Hot Mess Course — the full audio course on Stan Store: https://stan.store/goodlunahealing Get a free audio lesson here: https://stan.store/goodlunahealing Not sponsored.
