#29: How to figure out what matter to you now

I wonder how often you stop to ask yourself whether what mattered most to you 25 or 30 years ago still matters today. You've lived a lot of life since then. Maybe it's time to check. In this episode, we talk about your values, without a list and without hunting for the perfect word. I share what freedom means to me and why it took me a decade to define it. We look at how values can change over the years, and how sometimes they stay the same while the way you live them shifts. You'll hear why your best moments and your most frustrating ones both point to what matters, three questions to start paying attention to, and one simple look at your calendar that shows whether your days reflect what matters to you now. You don't have to make any big changes. You get to figure it out as you go. Three questions from the episode Think about a moment when you felt really good about how you were spending your time or living your life. What made that meaningful for you? What made you smile? What made that feel good? What's something you can notice matters so much more to you today than it did 10 or 20 years ago? What's something you want to make more room for in your life because it matters to you? After you write, look again: is there anything there that surprises you? Or something you've known for a really long time but haven't paid attention to?
