Episode 21 - Can 3 Normal Blokes Actually Run 50 Miles?

50 MILES. ONE MONTH. ONE IMPORTANT REASON. https://support.prostate-cancer-research.org.uk/fundraisers/hearmeoutpodcast This October, the three of us are taking on 50 miles each for Prostate Cancer Research — and considering some of us can barely walk after one run, this could be interesting. We’ve already started raising money, the competition between us has begun, and there’s even a forfeit waiting for whoever raises the least. More importantly, we want as many of you as possible to get involved — whether that means donating, joining the team, running your own miles or simply helping us spread the word. Pasted text But before any actual running happens… there’s plenty to argue about. ⚽ REF CAMS & THE MAN CITY DEBATE Are referee cameras one of the best additions to football? And then we get into a much bigger argument: what punishment should clubs actually face for serious financial rule breaches? Fines? Points deductions? Transfer bans? Or something much bigger? 🤯 THE INTERNET’S GONE MAD From suspicious stories near an RAF base to AI becoming so convincing that we may eventually stop believing anything we see online, we ask whether technology could ironically push us back towards actually living in the moment. 🔥 HEAR ME OUT… This week's listener dilemmas include: • Do fish know they're wet? • Is water actually wet? • Are fish basically underwater birds? • Are we becoming an entitled generation? • How fast would you let a car hit you for £10k per mph? • Should ALL public toilet exit doors be push doors? • Should Britain help people at home before increasing foreign aid? • Do newborn babies actually look like anyone… or do they just look like babies? • Is there an age where you're too old to have a footballer's name on your shirt? ❤️ HOW MUCH IS A LIFE WORTH? Things get much deeper when we discuss the story of a mother diagnosed with terminal cancer who refused to accept there was nothing more that could be done. After being told her options had run out, she researched alternative treatment abroad, funded it herself and continued fighting. It leaves us with a difficult question: When conventional treatment options run out, should patients be given more help finding experimental or overseas alternatives? And with our own challenge underway, we finish by talking about exactly why we're running 50 miles for Prostate Cancer Research and why raising awareness amongst men matters so much. Pasted text 🍺 Real topics. Real opinions. Real laughs. If you enjoy the episode, please LIKE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE — it genuinely helps us reach more people. And if you can support our 50-mile Prostate Cancer Research challenge, whether that's donating, joining the team or sharing it, we'd massively appreciate it. 🎙️ Hear Me Out – The Podcast 👇 QUESTION FOR THE COMMENTS: Who do you think is going to struggle the most with the 50 miles? #HearMeOutPodcast #ProstateCancerResearch #50Miles #MensHealth #MensMentalHealth #Podcast #UKPodcast #HearMeOut

Episode 20 - 50 Miles. One Month. One Important Reason. | Hear Me Out Podcast

https://support.prostate-cancer-research.org.uk/fundraisers/hearmeoutpodcast This week on Hear Me Out, the lads get into ambition, success and one question that gets harder to answer the older you get: When is enough actually enough? Can you be completely content with your life while still wanting more? Or does becoming comfortable eventually kill the hunger that got you there in the first place? We talk about success, discipline, family, freedom and why sometimes you need to look back at the life you wanted five years ago before convincing yourself you haven't achieved enough. Pasted text But before things get deep… there's plenty of absolute nonsense. 🍺 PUB CHAT 🏃 We're running 50 miles in October for Prostate Cancer Research — and we're finishing it with a fancy-dress Halloween run and, obviously, a trip to the pub. Pasted text 🚗 Kyle finally treats himself to a new car. 👏 Fish discovers just how much a simple compliment between blokes can mean. 🐰 One of the lads has a slightly unfortunate encounter with a rabbit… 🧠 And we discover the incredible story of a man who was apparently living a normal life despite most of his skull being filled with fluid. 🔥 HEAR ME OUT This week's listener dilemmas and debates include: • Is this really the right world to be bringing children into? • Should carrying and using a knife result in far tougher punishment? • Does tea actually taste better from your favourite mug? • How do you break up with your barber after FOUR YEARS? • If you've finished all your work by 2pm while working from home… is putting the PlayStation on taking the piss? • Should the middle seat on a plane be cheaper? • And the big one — should you EVER recline your seat on a plane? Pasted text 🧠 DEEP TALK We hear the incredible story of Nicholas Winton, who helped save 669 children from Nazi-occupied Europe — an act that ultimately affected thousands of lives. Pasted text Then we ask: At what point do you finally have enough? Enough money. Enough success. Enough stuff. Enough recognition. Maybe success isn't having everything. Maybe it's being able to say: “If my life stayed exactly as it is now, I'd be happy.” …while still having the drive to see what's possible next. 🎲 GAME TIME We finish with FACT OR F* OFF** — clouds weighing hundreds of tonnes, immortal jellyfish, taste-bud myths, impossible numbers of chess games and just how many times your heart beats during an 80-year lifetime. 🎙️ Hear Me Out – The Podcast Real topics. Episode 19 - Everyone Wants the Fruit… Nobody Sees the Roots

This week starts with burgers, VAR and absolute nonsense… but somehow ends up going a lot deeper than any of us expected. We kick things off asking whether VAR has completely lost the plot, before moving onto the important issues in life — like whether eating a burger with a knife and fork should genuinely be a criminal offence. Then things take a turn. 🇬🇧 Would you answer the call? With talk of military veterans potentially being mobilised for exercises, we ask Kyle and Foxy — both former Army — whether they’d actually go back if the country called. And more importantly: if Britain genuinely needed you, would you feel a responsibility to answer? 🇺🇸 A 9/11 story worth hearingWe talk about firefighter Stephen Siller, who ran towards the Twin Towers carrying his firefighting gear after being unable to reach his crew — and the incredible legacy that followed. ☀️ Why are we covering fields in solar panels?Should Britain be building solar farms on green land when warehouses, commercial buildings, houses and car parks have millions of square metres of unused roof space? 👀 The Social Media LoopholeOne anonymous listener stopped following random attractive women because his girlfriend hated it. His solution? Female fitness influencers, hikers and travel creators. 😂Different content… same reason for watching? 💰 Does everyone have a price?£10,000 to shave your eyebrows?£1 million to tattoo HEAR ME OUT across your forehead? But then comes the bigger question: What is the one thing no amount of money could ever buy from you? That leads us into reputation vs integrity. Would you rather be a good person everyone thinks is bad, or a bad person everyone thinks is good? 💳 Do we actually want success — or just want to LOOK successful?Expensive cars on finance. Designer clothes on credit. Holidays uploaded to Instagram. Are we becoming more interested in appearing wealthy than actually building wealth? 🛒 Supermarket Highway CodeAdam from Stevenage reckons trolley users should follow the rules of the road: keep left, check before pulling out and STOP BLOCKING THE BLOODY AISLE. 🌳 THE DEEP CONVERSATION A tree grows in two directions. Everyone admires the branches, leaves and fruit — but nobody sees the roots fighting through darkness and resistance underneath. Maybe people are the same. The work you do when nobody is watching is what eventually allows everyone else to see you grow. We talk about adversity, environment, friendship, perspective and why sometimes changing the people around you can completely change the direction of your life. And finally… 🧠 FACT OR F* OFF RETURNS** Dolphins have names?Turtles breathe through their arse?Humans glow in the dark? The entire human race could fit inside a sugar cube?! Someone has to win. Someone has to F*** OFF. 🍺 Hear Me Out — three mates, pub-style conversations, stupid debates, uncomfortable questions and the serious stuff men don't always talk about. If you're struggling, need advice, want to get something off your chest or have a Hear Me Out for the lads — send it in. Episode 18 - Can You Grieve Someone Who’s Still Alive?

Can you grieve someone who’s still alive — or are you actually grieving the future you thought you’d have? This week on the Hear Me Out Podcast, the lads are back around the table for pub chat & ridiculous arguments We start with an important question: What’s the most embarrassing thing to be shit at as a man? Throwing? DIY? Or that moment another bloke effortlessly undoes something you’ve just tightened with every ounce of strength you possess? 😂 Then it’s into the week's wins and fails — hitting 1,000 TikTok followers, celebrating local heroes, taking Dad to Wembley to see Bon Jovi, family camping, bus lane fines, parking tickets and the birth of a potentially brilliant new idea… 🏕️ HEAR ME OUTDOORS. Then it’s time for the Hear Me Outs… 👨‍👩‍👦 If your kid terrorises the community, should YOU be punished? At what point does their behaviour become the parents' responsibility? ⏰ What's the longest you'd queue for anything?Because apparently people will sacrifice SIX HOURS for frozen yoghurt. 🍺 If your mate buys you a pint without asking, are you automatically in the round?Ryan says no. We think Ryan needs a word with himself. ✈️ If your flight is delayed because of the airport, should they feed you for free?As one listener puts it: “You trap me, you feed me.” 💷 Your mate owes you £20 from six months ago. Do you ask for it back?Or has £20 bought you a cheap lesson about that person? 🍽️ Restaurants need to stop guilt-trapping people into service charges.Should a tip be earned rather than something you awkwardly ask to remove? Then the conversation takes a turn: 👨‍👦 Being a good parent sometimes means letting your kids fail. Are we so desperate to protect our children from struggling that we're taking away their opportunity to build resilience? Eventually they're going to fail at something. Maybe childhood is exactly when they should learn that failing isn't the end of the world. “He who says he can and he who says he can't are both usually right.” Then we get deep. 💔 Can you grieve someone who's still alive? An old friend. An ex. Your children growing up. Someone who changed. Even an older version of yourself. But maybe we're not grieving what we lost… Maybe we're grieving the future we imagined we'd have. 🪑 The Empty Chair Think about the people you regularly sit around a table with. Your mates. Your parents. Your partner. Your kids. One day there will be a last time you all sit around that table together. And none of you will know it's the last time when it's happening. There was a last time you knocked on your mate's door asking if they were coming out. A last time you picked your child up. A last night out with a friendship group that eventually drifted apart. Would we appreciate ordinary moments more if we knew which ones were the last? That brings us back to why we started Hear Me Out. Adult friendships can slowly disappear as life gets busier. This podcast gives us a reason to keep turning up, sit around the same table, make new memories and actually talk. 💪 And what does strength actually look like? Is it carrying everything yourself without saying a word? Or is real strength knowing what to carry, what to let go of and what's simply too heavy to carry alone? 👥 Finally: Who helped create the person you are today without ever knowing they did it? A teacher. An old boss. A mate. A grandparent. An ex. Or maybe a complete stranger whose small action changed the direction of your life. We want to hear those stories. And we finish with a brand-new game: 🔥 FACT OR F**K OFF Flamingos. Goldfish. Unicorns. Wombats. Cleopatra. Napoleon… Is it a fact — or is it f**k off? 👇 YOUR TURN Tell us in the comments: Who changed the course of your life without ever realising they did it? Episode 17 - Are We All Just Wasting Time? And Is That Actually the Point?

Are we all just wasting time… and is that actually the point of life? This week on the Hear Me Out Podcast, the lads are back around the table for another episode of pub chat, ridiculous arguments, controversial Hear Me Outs and a conversation that gets surprisingly deep.We start with the week's wins and fails — including a new car, Fish rediscovering how good the British countryside actually is, and possibly one of the biggest ticket c**k-ups we've had on the podcast.🎟️ Imagine travelling to Manchester to see your favourite comedian… only to discover your tickets are for TOMORROW.Somehow, Kyle manages to turn disaster into a win and gets the lads into Kevin Bridges anyway. Then it's time for the Hear Me Outs…🥩 Fat is flavour when it comes to steak.Does a fatty ribeye actually taste better than a fillet, or are you just paying extra to chew fat?🚪 Why is locking your front door normal, but wanting controlled national borders controversial? The lads debate immigration, border security and whether it's possible to discuss the subject without immediately being pushed into a political camp.⚽ Bruno Fernandes is the greatest midfielder of all time.Yes. Someone actually said it. Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Iniesta and De Bruyne all get dragged into an argument that probably deserves its own episode.🚗 Should you have to retake your driving test when you reach a certain age?A listener's Hear Me Out sparks a debate about older drivers, motorway driving, middle-lane hoggers and whether everyone should periodically prove they're still safe behind the wheel.🚧 Then Kyle completely loses it over councils digging up roads at seemingly the worst possible time. And the listeners have sent in some absolute belters…☕ Is ordering a hot chocolate with marshmallows in a pub at 9pm on Saturday unacceptable behaviour?🗑️ If your neighbour keeps bringing your wheelie bin in, have you automatically entered into a bin contract where you're now expected to return the favour?💒 And would you spend £500 attending the wedding of an old mate you haven't properly spoken to for three years? Then we get deep.📞 When was the last time you rang your dad just to tell him you love him? After hearing about two brothers encouraging strangers to reconnect with their dads, we talk about how easily life gets in the way of the relationships we assume will always be there.Sometimes the conversation doesn't need a reason. Sometimes you should just make the call. Then comes a question that takes us somewhere completely different:Are humans capable of accepting that some things may never have an answer? That leads into religion, faith, purpose and why humans seem to need something bigger to belong to.And eventually we land on perhaps the biggest thought of the episode:⏳ What if we're all just wasting time?Working. Gaming. Going to the gym. Walking in the countryside. Watching sunsets. Building a career. Sitting in the pub.Eventually the outcome is the same.So maybe the question isn't whether you're wasting your time…Maybe it's whether you're wasting it doing something you actually enjoy. Finally, we look at the shocking idea that a significant number of homeless people can still be working — opening up a conversation about housing costs, rent, wages and whether having a job should at least guarantee you the basics of somewhere safe to live.👇 YOUR TURNDrop your best Hear Me Out in the comments. Episode 16 - If you only had 5 years left...

How differently do we all see the world — and how much of what we argue about simply comes down to perspective? This week on the Hear Me Out Podcast, the lads start with the usual pub chat before things get surprisingly deep.We talk ridiculous workplace nicknames, vinyl records, football, online hate and why the internet seems determined to turn everything into an argument. Then come the Hear Me Outs…🏘️ Should every new housing estate be forced to include pubs, shops, social spaces and proper community facilities?⚖️ Does dying automatically make someone a victim — and can we acknowledge someone's death while still holding them accountable for the choices they made?👀 Do men and women actually notice different things? Fish explains how a weekend away made him realise that he and his partner can experience exactly the same situation but see completely different things — and how understanding that could prevent a lot of pointless arguments in relationships. We also get into parenting, screen time, teaching kids responsibility and why sometimes doing everything for your children might actually be doing them a disservice. And finally, things get properly deep.A fisherman meets a businessman who tells him how to build an empire so that one day he can finally stop working, spend time with his family and go fishing…The fisherman's response? That's what I'm doing now.Which leads to one question:If you knew you only had five years left to live, what would immediately stop being important to you?And if it wouldn't matter then… why does it have so much control over your life now?Let us know your answer in the comments.🎙️ New episodes of the Hear Me Out Podcast every Sunday.Follow us:@hear.me.out.pod1Like, subscribe and join the conversation.#HearMeOutPodcast #MensPodcast #UKPodcast #MensMentalHealth #Relationships #MensHealth #RealTalk #PubChat #Podcast

Episode 15 - What about the mate that never talks ?!

Can you choose to be offended? And why are we so much quicker to tear someone down online than tell them they're doing something right? This week on the Hear Me Out Podcast, we start by addressing the reaction to one of our recent clips, owning where we got it wrong and talking about what happens when a conversation gets taken out of context online. That leads us into a much bigger debate about outrage, accountability, cancel culture and whether social media has made us more interested in attacking people than actually talking to them. Then it's time for this week's Hear Me Outs…🏠 If you can afford holidays, takeaways, nights out and expensive cars, can you really complain that you can't afford to buy a house? We debate house prices, mortgages, renting vs buying, sacrifice, lifestyle choices and whether younger generations genuinely have it harder — or simply expect a different standard of living.📱 Why are people more motivated to tell someone they're doing badly than tell them they're doing well?Negative content travels faster, gets more comments and generates more engagement. But if that's what we interact with… are we partly responsible for creating the negative internet we complain about?💷 Is a man's value attached to what he can provide? We get into relationships, marriage, divorce, social expectations and the pressure many men put on themselves to constantly earn more, achieve more and provide more. And then things get properly deep.We talk about men's mental health and ask whether we've become good at telling men it's OK to talk… but not nearly good enough at noticing the men who DON'T talk. What happens when the mate who normally rings every day suddenly stops calling? What about the person in the friendship group who's always keeping everybody else afloat? And when somebody finally offers you help, are you willing to actually give it a chance? We share our own experiences of counselling and therapy, why getting help doesn't always feel like it's working at first, and why sometimes you don't notice your own progress until you look back at where you started. This one gets honest. If you've got a mate who's been a little quieter than usual, check in with him.And if you're struggling yourself, talking to someone could be the first step.👇 Let us know YOUR Hear Me Out in the comments. Episode 14 - Men are allowed to struggle here

Is the gym one of the only places where men are actually ALLOWED to struggle? This week on the **Hear Me Out Podcast**, the lads are back around the table for another episode of pub chat, ridiculous arguments, controversial Hear Me Outs and a conversation that gets a lot deeper than expected. We start with the week's wins and fails — including a trip to Harry Potter Studios, some brilliant news for apprenticeships, an incredible gesture from Royal Mail, a skip that lasted about two hours, destroyed garden lights and possibly the most pointless decision ever made before going for a walk. Then it's time for the **Hear Me Outs…**🏠 **Every adult should live alone for at least a year.**Do we become too dependent on other people without ever learning how to properly look after ourselves?🪖 **Should everyone have to complete some form of national service?**Could it teach independence, discipline and basic life skills?🍽️ **If you say “I don't mind”, you've lost the right to reject the restaurant.**Surely this one shouldn't even be controversial?⚽ **Kids' football shirts should have a price cap.**When did buying your child their team's latest shirt become so expensive?🗳️ Then things get considerably more controversial as we debate voting, benefits, contribution to society, university debt and whether people should have to earn certain privileges.✈️ And somehow we end up having a full-scale argument about whether the person stuck in the middle seat on a plane deserves BOTH armrests. After the break, we tackle some of the worst acting performances we've ever seen before a completely unnecessary argument erupts over **Terminator, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings**.Then we get deep.⛰️ **The Mountain Story**Two brothers reach exactly the same destination — but only one of them climbed the mountain. If success was simply handed to you, would it actually feel the same?Because sometimes the struggle isn't something standing in the way of the story…**The struggle IS the story.**💪 That leads into one of our favourite questions from this episode:**Is the gym one of the only places where it's socially acceptable for men to struggle?**You can fail a lift. You can ask another man for help. You can admit something is difficult. You can start from the bottom. And instead of being judged, the people around you usually want you to succeed. So why don't we treat struggle the same way outside the gym? Finally, we talk about something every parent should probably think about:**When you don't explain things to your kids, they fill in the blanks themselves.**“Dad's stressed” can become “Dad doesn't want to spend time with me.”“We can't afford that today” can become “Dad doesn't want to take me.”Maybe preparing our kids for real life isn't about shielding them from every difficult subject — it's about talking to them and helping them understand it.And, of course, we finish with another round of the cryptic character game featuring Voldemort, Iron Man, Batman, Yoda, Jack Sparrow and Rocky.👇 **YOUR TURN**Drop your best **Hear Me Out** in the comments.
