    How does a tiny piece of plaid fabric turn into a 750+ horsepower Foxbody build? Mitch Grace built the entire car around it—and says he’ll NEVER build another one. In this episode of The Foxbody Den Show, John Kolbaska, Ryan Jugdeo, and Lee CCWFOX sit down with Mitch Grace to get the full story behind his incredible Shelter Green Foxbody convertible—one of those builds where the longer you look, the more details you find. What started as a relatively simple project using a donor car quickly spiraled into something completely different. Mitch explains his unusual inside-out approach to building cars, starting with the interior before choosing the exterior color. A small plaid material sample from Relicate became the inspiration that eventually determined the entire personality of the car—from the custom interior and Shelter Green paint to the wheels, brakes, and color-matched details throughout the build. Then there’s the drivetrain. The original plan called for a 363 pushrod combination, but like most Foxbody projects, the plan didn't survive. The car eventually received a Coyote swap with a Whipple supercharger, putting down an impressive 751 horsepower to the wheels. Mitch takes us through the entire evolution of the build, including the donor car, the infamous time spent in “paint jail,” finding the right wheels, brake fitment, choosing colors, and the endless decisions that transformed what was supposed to be a fun driver into something far more serious. After turning heads at Motor City Fox Fest, Gus joins us to tell the story of a Foxbody that has survived nearly four decades, multiple transformations, and eventually received the heart of a wrecked 2004 SVT Terminator Cobra. Today, the car makes around 700 horsepower and has already run 10-second passes at 138 MPH, but the story behind the build is what makes this one different.
